Samyrmancer
I keep finding myself drawn to the redcap daggers and think two of them look really cool. However, I don't see many builds for them and would like some advice. Are dual blades effective? If lethal is the most frequently resisted power, is this going to really limit me? Are dual blades better on a stalker, scrapper or brute? Is there a particular secondary that lends itself to dual blades? Bio looks cool with its three modes and looks fine when set to minimal graphics. Dark would be awesome if Cloak of Fear had a wider radius. 8' is pretty much melee range and the mag 2 means it's not going to scare much. Super Reflexes seem to have a bunch of defense and I like that. Willpower is supposed to be good, but I don't know anything about it. Regeneration was supposed to be awesome, back in the day, but I always sucked at it. Which of the combo powers are must haves? Which ones are skippable? Do I need to take every single power? Please set me in the right direction. I'm not much of a melee player, but this one concept in my head will not go away. Thanks in advance.
Hyperstrike
My Stalker, Stabbitha, was my first Villain to 50. She was just so fun. DP/WP (WP is basically just "set and forget"). I generally ignored the combos.in favor of best DPS. Scrappers and Brutes are pretty much ALWAYS going to win, in the long run, general DPS. The Stalker will generally win for burst damage, but that's it. I don't generally play Bio. Not a fan of the aesthetic. Not a big fan of Dark. Then again, I LIKE looking at my costumes. SR is great for the Defense. But if something can reliably punch through it, you're an eggshell. As I said, WP is "set and forget". Just be aware that normal SO'ed WP isn't all THAT durable. Regen is okay for "twitch" gamers. Of which I haven't been one in decades (if I ever really WAS one). But you GOTTA stay on top of your combat condition or it's "I'm a god! I'm a god! I'm...kissing carpet..." Remember, healing damage is NOT mitigation. Here's a DB/Regen that's just an "off the cuff" build. It's not TERRIBLE. And has, generally, just enough Defense and Resistance to slow down the need for extreme measures while maintaining a decent Recharge. Microcosm
Dual blades is actually pretty strong dps. In terms of stalker or scrapper or brute, stalker will do better single target damage because of AS, and the other two better AoE. Between scrapper and brute, the scrapper is much better because of the constant +damage of blinding feint is more impactful on scrappers. For your other questions, it depends very much on what you want to invest. If you want to go super route, you'll need Sr or Elec for the +rech, and elec will be the stronger if you can softcap s/l as well. If you want to go lower investment, Sr is still good as are pretty much most of the sets you listed. I might skip dark just because of how end heavy it is. What combos to take is up to you, but at the very highest end you don't use the combos for single target damage, so keep that in mind. Samyrmancer
Thank you for your comments. I am inclined to go WP as I like set and forget for defense and running around spastic for offense. I am going to go into character builder and see what I come out with. I'll then decide if it looks more like a stalker or scrapper. Thank you so much!
