  1. You realize we're on your side, right? We're saying that the powers you want because they fit the theme of your character should be as good as the competition!
  2. Agreed. I feel bad because I kind of echoed her sentiment, but I would much, much rather have the reduced cast time.
  3. If you bother to actually look at the main FF thread, you'll find plenty of people doing the former. And similarly doing the latter. Though in either of these cases the opening statement of the sentence doesn't matter. Feedback is feedback, whether or not someone can say something definitively or subjectively.
  4. Making the mech costumes is both good and bad (good because it's cool, bad for the reasons posted above). I think a simpler solution to editing the mesh, which may or may not be easy depending on how it's all modeled and the topology of the mesh, might be offering both a small and large version. Though the prototype heracles might then be a feels bad if they're separate purchases. Also, considering those were added and the vanguard base was redone, I'm surprised there isn't a vanguard HVAS costume available, either for vanguard merits or aether particles. Though if it were available for vanguard merits, there would need to be a way to give oneself the sufficient number to do so for testing purposes. If there's a command I'm unaware of what it is, but the test server P2W vendors don't offer them.
  5. Having a single CC power does not make one a CC AT. Again, you're overstating the variety of roles an AT can reasonably fill. You and many others have argued on behalf of some illusionary player who may exclude players based on their roles. But not a single person in this thread had stated they will do that? Are they in the room with us right now? Who is this imaginary person you've made up and are protecting the game from?
  6. I suppose now is the best time to ask. Can soldiers in general get some knockback protection and defense debuff resistance? Even basic blood widows get knockback and repel protection but soldiers are relegated to either acrobatics or knockback protection set bonuses or globals. And while widows don't get a lot of defense debuff resistance, getting some is certainly better than none, especially for banes.
  7. Please tell me how one makes a stalker good at being control or support. EATs count as those things to further emphasize their role to be on teams and to encourage people to play them more often and to make it easier for them to "fill" a role missing in a team comp. I'm not sure which part you're arguing for or against. If the reward isn't a big deal, then why forget it if it costs you nothing to earn it?
  8. Even in a game like FFXIV, where randomly queuing up for content requires certain roles to be filled before putting the players in the instance, people still do runs of both easy and difficult content with non-standard parties just for the fun of it. A lot of the doomsaying in this thread hinges on a hypothetical alternate timeline. Most of the arguments against it are "the reward is not a big deal, but it COULD be to someone else!" Also, people saying that some ATs fit multiple roles, which is true in some cases. But what about stalker? Can someone legitimately and seriously convince me stalker is anything other than melee damage? It seems unfair to list controller, for example, as ranged damage, support, and crowd control in that instance. I think a lot of the people here are both overestimating CoH's complexity and underestimating the variety classes have in other MMOs.
  9. All of the huge models. Minions have the kneepads but lieutenants and above don't have them.
  10. I agree that arctic breath "feels" more impactful with a longer animation, but in it's current state it's very not great. But I also think bile spray's shortened animation is good. Perhaps arctic breath should simply do much more damage to justify a longer animation time.
  11. I suppose this is the best time to perhaps ask for the huge model vanguard NPCs to have their boots fixed? Ever since their inception, the minions have had the boots with pad while all other variants have the boots without the pad, but it should be the reverse (as is the case with male and female NPCs).
  12. Three different people (including myself) weren't able to walk up to the phone and start the personal mission unless we teleported to it from the find contact window. I could start the mission from the phone this way without the badge and another had the badge but still needed to use find contact. At the time all of us were hero/vigilante characters. I was able to walk up to the phone and start it on a rogue character with the badge. On that same character, though, there wasn't any indication that I *could* do that other than me knowing it exists, so I would suggest it appearing in contacts.
  13. The arc won't start unless you click "find contact" and teleport to it. Just talking to the phone gives a message implying the arc hasn't been unlocked.
  14. Isn't that how Rain of Arrows functions?
  15. Assault Rifle has never been popular (because it's bad and always has been). If your concern is losing a stun, why not just add that to Slug or Buckshot or whatever and then also get Aim. What's wrong with that?
  16. Then why not add stun to Slug or something instead?
  17. Why not just make it Concussive Rounds instead of Aim and just have it add stun to attacks if people apparently love Beanbag so much.
  18. Any chance Moment of Glory gets toxic defense added (it already gives toxic resistance)?
  19. I've played this game since literally Issue 1. People were herding x8 maps since the dawn of time. Empathy was never needed back then. Before the aggro cap, Scrappers could herd the entire werewolf map and also solo it. Mechanics in power sets, like Street Justice, Staff Fighting, etc. are cool and good. What I mean are mechanics that make the enemies themselves more interesting. Also, I'm not saying team comp not mattering is a good thing.
  20. I think there's a flaw this way of thinking. CoH isn't easy because characters can solo +4/x8 with little to no difficulty. CoH is easy because it's a math game. Do you mathematically take negligible damage from this enemy? Do you mathematically do more DPS than it can regenerate? If yes, you win. And that's the entire game. I personally don't care about the difficulty of trash mobs (underlings, minions, lieutenants, and bosses) because they're just that. Trash. Some of them do some interesting things, like the level 50 Awakened (which I'm not even sure how many people know exist). But for the most part, they don't really do anything fun. They stand around and you defeat them and that's it. But what I do think is fun is mowing through an army of goons. That's the entire reason why games like Dynasty Warriors are popular. And the old devs seemed to eventually lean into this. The giant groups of enemies in the ITF, endless waves in villain Reichsman, a majority of the LGTF, etc, etc. Unfortunately, Elite Bosses, Archvillains/Heroes, and Giant Monsters behave literally the exact same way. Pretty much even in Incarnate Trials. What is supposed to be the hardest content in the game is still the same math game as level 5 trash enemies. The most exciting "mechanic" they have is jump away from the boss when giant red letters tell you to. Every thing is a tank and spank and always has been. Other than very fringe scenarios, of which there aren't enough of, positioning doesn't matter. Team comp doesn't matter. There's not really any player skill so to speak because, again, everything is literally just a tank and spank. No mechanics, no telegraphs, nothing. Some of the later content in the game is a lot more exciting, like Sutter TF, but even that's "don't stand on these spots". Which, compared to 95% of the AVs in the game, is way cooler than DPS them down in 1 minute. Essentially, what I'm saying would add actual difficulty would be to make AVs/Heroes, GMs, and to some extent EBs, a lot more difficult and interesting. Though I doubt that will ever happen.
  21. I can't imagine it has a minor effect if you enjoy soloing on +4/x8 on literally every character. No shot this doesn't make doing so significantly harder (and without spamming inspirations, potentially impossible on some characters) that could do it before, even if there was some difficulty with it. Alternatively, characters that innately have defense, like Energy Aura, were uneffected (and Energy Aura was also buffed so it's even better lmao).
  22. It's literally the exact same mechanic WoW uses for Mythic+ keys and why the system is so hated and toxic. Doing a lower difficulty gates you out of a higher difficulty doesn't make any sense. Additionally, this is a private server. Why time gate anything? They aren't trying to keep player retention with monthly subs, are they?
  23. So there's a limited amount of resources on something that's also time gated? So it's double time gated? So it's even worse?
