I'm 90% sure my original forum name would have been Duuk or HavenDuuk. My initial toon, long before her identity was stolen by that hack in Atlas Park, was Flamestryke and she was almost a 1:1 costume of Flambeaux. (Flambeaux has an NPC-only costume piece). She took my job!

It would be nice for everyone that doesn';t know how to figure out set ranges if Level Ranges could be included in default set info. "This set is available from level 15 to 40" (meaning it can be slotted at 12) would be amazing.

Pie in the sky dreaming because of CoH codebase: If would be nice if, when you "Check Availability" of a name during character creation if it would say, "Sister Pistols: In use by @Madcow99 last on 2 days ago" Of course, knowing the CoH code it would have to load the toon to get that info and would reset the login timer every time.

Frequently I see people requesting that glowie volume be able to be adjusted outside of the normal volume. (ie: "I want the glowies super loud, but not my powers"). There is a (nearly) unused setting called "voiceover volume". Why not rename it "hint volume" and make glowies use that setting?

People are acting like there is going to be an in-game channel that announces when a name is available to steal claim. There is literally no way to know which names will free up when, it just means if someone picks that exact name after the timer has run out then won't get the "Name in Use" error message. While this will be nice and open up some names to (hopefully) become active members, it's not a Be All or even Catch All. ...but that in-game channel is a great idea and you should feel free to implement it.

issue 27 Focused Feedback: Architect Entertainment

To piggyback on an earlier suggestion (boosting XP rates in hazard/trial zones), if out-leveling them is a problem (and you're probably right, it will be) have the key trial zones use the monster/giant monster code that means it's not possible to out-level the zone. -

That's the million dollar question: What was the goal/expectation for this change? If it's to stop AFk farms, good on them. I'm against afk farming. Regular farmers will still farm content which is farmable. Nothing will change, including power leveling lowbies. If the goal was to just normalize rewards, then AE is still the best way to make inf in the game, the only loss is vet levels. So the question is: What is the goal so we can know if the effects are intended? -

If we reach the usage where every hazard zone is being swept clean by farmers, adjusting the respawn rates in those zones is trivial (I think, City of Heroes spaghetti code may or may not being trivial for various reasons). -

To clarify, when you say "next patch" do you mean the next build of Page 4 or do you mean a future Page 5? I've seen lots of people reference "the next patch" and I want to confirm they mean "this page, a new build". Thanks for the efforts so far! -

I think this is a brilliant solution. 1) The way those zones work, you have to be in range to get XP, so doorsitters will at least have to stay close to the farmer. 2) Hazard and trial zones are grossly under utilized. So when you enter a hazard/trial zone, let it exemp you down to an appropriate level and give 200 or even 300% of normal xp. Sort of a reverse of how debt works. Suddenly sweeping Perez Park and Boomtown becomes not just "worth it" but also one of the better PL strategies. -

One thing this change calls attention to: We need another 50+ radio/newspaper zone, otherwise Grandville and PI are about to get overwhelmed. Might I suggest... Khalisti Wharf -
Complete Creation and Return to List

That's also a snazzy idea. Maybe have a drop-down menu on the Name portion of character finalization that lets you select a supergroup you have invite privs for. -
Complete Creation and Return to List

How have I never thought to use my base code until I'm able to add myself to my SG? That's brilliant. -
This has probably been suggested before, but when you reach the stage of character creation that says, "Complete character creation and enter game", a third option (and return to character selection) would be great. Then I could login as another toon, /altinvite, send money, and THEN login as the newbie in two steps instead of 3.

Not if it hits the next contact in the arc. That contact won't talk to you if you've out-leveled it. IE: In Atlas Park, you level up to 8 while doing Mathew Habashy's missions (Sandra Costel 2nd), you complete Sandra Costel and go to talk to Aaron Thiery and he tells you to kiss off. Thus depriving you of 6 merits.

They wouldn't be level 9 mobs. They'd be level 50 mobs. Like all mishes, it would scale to level. There would just be no upper limit to the scaling anymore. This also eliminates the problem where you happen to accidentally outlevel the last mish or two on a reward arc that you worked on. It's a total win AND adds more replayability to the game because instead of leveling past content (lookin at you here Skyway, who I never actually level in), people would get to see content that might be "new" to them even if it's been in the game since i1.

Worried people might be doing fun wrong?

This one is going to get me a ton of hatemail, so I'm turning on my /fire resist up to 90. Story missions should have their scaling level uncapped. Meaning if you want to run the Hollows at level 50, you get a level 50 Frostfire. Upside: You can take your time and see all the stories without having to Ouroborous it and deal with "What powers do I have today?" Downside: Not all villain groups are built for all levels. Some missions may be easier than intended because the villains won't have higher level powers. Counter: Who cares? A significant part of the playerbase uses farm mishes to speed-level to 50 anyway, so why discourage people from doing the actual mission content by gating it behind a wonky system? When the game was dying on Live, every character did DFB until level 20 and then just cycled through the task forces to 50. Even THAT is superior to what we have now, which is Old MacDonald and his farms (E I E I O). Request for flames comments open!

Make the chat type buttons in the Comms panel larger
Perma-Newbie replied to MsSmart's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Not as far as I can tell. They're suuuuuper tiny. -
I think maybe I was unclear: this would be amazingly useful for vanity, single user SGs. A real sg doesn't need this command, but others would find it supremely useful. In addition, it's literally exactly the same as altinvite, only you don't need to logout your level 1 newbie, login your alt in the SG, /altinvite, logout and log back on your level 1 newbie. It would just be "start newbie", "/altjoin <MyAlt>" and voila! Nothing is being bypassed that isn't being bypassed by altinvite.
-
/altjoin would be the opposite of /altinvite. Using /altjoin <name> would make you a member of the supergroup the target toon is the leader of, assuming you are an alt of that leader.
-
It would be nice if the base teleporters listed the level range for zones the way the transit/ferries do.
-
It would be amazing if the level-up placement screen for enhancement slots showed the information that the normal enhancement screen shows (ie: What is slotted, what can be slotted, what the current bonuses are to the power.)
