Well, my goal was to move things away from Liberty, since she's a social hang-out and always has been. My "long term" Quality of Life goals if the devs are planning on improving the game include making sure every Zone is self-sufficient so that all story arcs and contacts are zone-contained (each contact missions stay in their zone and lead to each other under you've out-leveled the zone and THEN breadcrumb you to the next zone), story arcs that follow your background chain properly, etc. But a big start involves relieving congestion in Atlas, and since we can each have our own SG, my goal was to add a way to bypass Atlas while leveling. All of these have been great suggestions!

07/23/2019 Extended Maintenance & New Forums
Perma-Newbie replied to Cipher's topic in Announcements
The new forum layout is better than sex with a trained professional. But now I need to pick a forum avatar. -
As a nice, fun way to alleviate the stress on Poor Ms. Liberty... How about the Supergroup Mission Computer gets re-purposed as a Mission Architect access interface? Then solo/small group supergroups can use their base as a be-all-and-end-all place to meet up, Ms. Liberty and Atlas gets a total strain reduction, everybody wins!

Origin Enhancement Guide/List for Enemy Factions?
Perma-Newbie replied to Perma-Newbie's topic in Guides
Over 60 views and nobody has this list... So, um... maybe there isn't one? Could someone make one? I don't have nearly enough information, but I bet someone way smarter than I am has this in an xml spreadsheet already... -
I was away from my keyboard, in the time it took me to read the message, grab my wallet, open a browser, and click the link, I missed it. Obviously, you guys need to increase expenses so the donation window can stay up a little longer. Maybe add a server this month?
-
I may be crazy or suffering from early onset dementia (hence the MadCow) but did there not used to be a guide/spreadsheet/list of what enemy factions dropped which dual-origin and single-origin enhancements so players would know which missions/story arcs were the "best" ones to do based on origins? I'm almost certain someone had a spreadsheet but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I would kill for a way to adjust the "teleport in" facing for rez and base entrance items and have an arrow on top so when we rotate them it shows which way the toon will be facing when they pop in. It would be SO SEXY.

I am in love and now want to play this game. This is so much better than my version.

HERO!

Ok, so it's not just me.

Luckily I play on Everlasting, where you are far, far more likely to get lambasted for being background-checked and not having a background story written than you are for being improperly "geared". When I first logged in a couple weeks ago it took me like 12 hours to remember what enhancements were. It took me about _2 days_ to remember how to craft. I still haven't sold or bought anything on the AH. It'll be a month or more before I have any of my (multitude of) toons hit 50. But they all have sweet backstories.
-
That's good news. I don't mean to downplay it, but seeing that the upkeep is "only" under $10k a month and the user count seems be significantly above 10k I would *hope* that a game that shut down 7 years ago (meaning by default the game should skew older, meaning people that might have a little more disposable income) should be able to throw a few dollars a month to maintain it. My bigger concern of course is how covered you folks are on the legal end, but it sounds like you've been doing the "stay hidden and do research" thing for a long, long time and are now setting up some liability shielding and potential defenses that might allow you to hide behind some things. Applause. Of course, what I really, really hope is that this is secretly a ploy by Cryptic or NCSoft to gauge the interest in an updated City of Heroes 2 and you guys are the early alpha devs :D

I suggested in a different thread, but I'd like to see a "Reward" slider added to the options so we can control our XP-Influence rewards so that people who want to level slower get reduced XP but higher influence and people who want to level faster get increased XP and lower influence (essentially building in the P2W vendor) as a slider per character. Of course, now that I'm leveling again, I'm also reminded that I'd kill to have someone go back through and organize the Contacts and Story Arcs to level cleanly per zone and also let us know what origins each arc is for so you're not constantly running between zones. I forgot who much I did not miss "Run from Atlas to KR to Perez to Atlas to KR to Perez" to Skyway to SC to Skyway to SC to Faultline etc.

Style from the university/Midnighter please. House Havenwood is old, distinguished, and stodgy. P2W vendor in the NPC list. If I have a "future wish list" can we work on the ability to have rooms "corner-touch" so that small bases can be made tighter? I actually like my base to be small and compact (our Manor House isn't a massive sprawling complex!) and having to spread the rooms out so they don't touch corners forces the rooms to have weird hallway layouts. (Reminder: I'm just happy CoX is back!)

I'm with the idea of bringing back rewards for SG prestige to mean something. I hate "grind mechanics", so definitely don't gate things behind it, but maybe allowing SGs to spend prestige on SG buffs/rewards/etc (spend a million prestige for a 50% crafting cost reduction for 10 days or something?)
-
It was like that on original, live CoX. When I had to accept it on logging in the 2nd time it stopped me because I suddenly went, "Oh wait, I remember this. I had to do this EVERY SINGLE TIME." Just like you have to pick your server every time. Listen, the team has only been live a month. Do I want them to grow and streamline and have a shiny new launcher? Sure, but it's way down on my priority list.

The Future - An Open Letter from the Homecoming Team
Perma-Newbie replied to Jimmy's topic in Announcements
One thing I *am* hearing is that the P2W vendor needs to be made into an XP/Influence slider. Reward Balance XP / Influence ALL XP * 20/80 * 40/60 * Balanced XP / Influence * 60/40 * 80/20 * All Influence -
How does RP affect your character build?
Perma-Newbie replied to Dynamistress's topic in Roleplaying
The only power I gloss over and RP-handwave is flight. Even if I have to magically just assume that I have a special flight-belt. Flight is just entirely too useful and necessary to me to ignore for RP reasons, no matter what origin or build I might have. -
The Future - An Open Letter from the Homecoming Team
Perma-Newbie replied to Jimmy's topic in Announcements
I'm going to wade into this: Thanks to the Homecoming team. You guys are doing an unenviable task. To the people loading hate on them already, simmer down. 1) Quit telling people that other people are "doing fun wrong". If someone wants to power level to 50 in a weekend and then pleasure themselves all day standing on top of Atlas, hey, to each their own. If they want to take 3 months to level to 50 by slowly soloing the content at Level -1 difficulty, also great. 2) The Homecoming team didn't code CoX. NCSoft/Cryptic did. So bugs dating back to an engine that _was dead for 7 years_ aren't really their fault. Give them a moment to start fixing stuff. 3) You're not paying a subscription. There is no webstore for costume pieces. The P2W vendor didn't ask for your credit card number. If they want to make AE content all 0-XP, remove the DFB trial, and remove the color blue from available toon hues, they get to do it. I'm just glad it's back, and I hope I'm online when next month's donation requests open up so I can toss $50 in. This has made me insanely happy. -
Is there a plan to set up as a Patreon-type system? I'd be more than happy to set up a $10/$15 recurring for this. Thanks for bringing my happiness back.

I'm kind of torn on this. I like that my daughters and I can have a private supergroup with all of the amenities, but I miss having prestige at all. Maybe have prestige costs for expanding base size? Maybe have SGs start with enough prestige to buy 2 small rooms and then you have to farm prestige if you want to build more rooms? No cost for decorative items, 1 teleporter, 1-2 NPCs, 1 rez station, storage units, work tables, etc? That way building Mega Bases is an accomplishment that only big Supergroups can do, but those of us that want small vanity supergroups can still do it.

For a Greco-Roman style, he'd be wanting a chiton, for which the toga approximates, but covers the upper body, too (it would also be considered an athletic chiton, as a regular chiton was much longer. The kilt, plus one of the wider 'wrapped and tied' belts to represent the kolpos tied off at the waist would be as close as you can get with the existing available male pieces. I tried that, but the kilt options have built-in coloring options and don't allow the use of the other coloring options. Using the skirt options would really be the better options. And since we know that they're already capable of meshing to wider legs (due to scaling/etc) there really isn't a good reason not to open them up. GIVE ME SKIRTS OR GIVE ME DEATH.
-
This is exactly what I want. And yes, I know the difference between a skirt, a dress, and a robe. :D I'm actually bummed that the original Cryptic/NCSoft team never made much use of dresses, either. But yes, I want the skirt set to be opened up to all 3 body types. Thanks!

Oddly, this post isn't even an LGBT thing, but feel free to add that to the reasons why it should be a thing. I was trying to make a bare chested male dark/dark corrupter straight out of some Greco-Roman fantasy and suddenly realized.... THERE IS NO WAY TO GIVE THE MAN A LOWER-BODY ONLY TOGA. I mean, I can fake it with a kilt, but it will look like a kilt. I want the dude to show off his luscious chest, put the leaves in his hair, and use his (gaseous pink) eros-themed powers of darkness to overwhelm you. BUT HE SIMPLY CAN'T DO IT BECAUSE HE CAN'T WEAR A SKIRT DAMMIT.

This worked, thank you!
