  1. Also, you'll miss contacts with the ones that have requirements to open as a contact.   So, wiki reading is needed to do a completionist version.

I've been saying this for quite some time.  I've never quite understood anyone's objection to it.

I should also say, many of the issues I have with naming characters is that they're ESTABLISHED for me.  Many of them were created back in the 70s and 80s when my brother and I made our own comics, so I have an attachment to their names.  Without their names, they're just not those characters anymore.  I expect others have similar reasons for wanting certain names.

Most likely.    Reminds me of back in the 80s at a convention playing Champions.   I tad a table of eight players, we had three people with the same character name and four different ones that had the same super group name. 😄  Turned that one into a multiverse collision story.

  3. Here's a question for the instanced version idea:

    How to get EoEs?

Start the instance and it would be maybe a copy of the Hive with enough GMs to spawn the Hami in the usual 5-50 GM defeats?

Other idea would be instead of the usual spots for the wall of GMs, just have an area that has a group of GMs (maybe one for each player in leage) and once they are defeated, Hami pops.

This exactly. On Indom, a few years ago, our normal Riad leader did not show up, so I stepped in on the fly. No text macros, typing everything. Mind you, we still did the two-step process—so tracking mitos for everyone, tracking griefers, etc. Oh, and organizing the individual teams—lots of work.

This is why I am always impressed with how @Oklahoman and @Laucianna run it. Smooth

Yep. The raid leaders do a lot of  heavy lifting that doesn't look like much until you try to do it yourself.    Most I've done is be one of the targeteers.

I've only been to the raids on Everlasting & Excelsior.  I do have some chars on the other servers, so may need to check my timing to tourist the other ones.

Both sides' tailors will talk to Rogues, but Facemaker snubs Vigilantes.

Interesting, I always tended to switch to be red or blue depending on side.   I usually did both 20s & 30s and didn't bother with salvage.

That's why it was called S.C.O.R.E. Secret Cabal of Reverse Engineers before it was rebranded as Homecoming when it was opened to the public after the leak.

I must have misread something, but I thought SCORE & HC were two separate entities.   (Gist of finally getting around to reading the pcgamer article last night)

  7. I think it's a fine idea if it doesn't cause too many Dev headaches.

The dual box complaint might be if someone has one account in the Hive or Abyss, and any other accounts are doing stuff outside the map.   Allows someone to "save" a spot, but they're still doing stuff.  Though one would think they would be more responsive than someone who parked and went to make dinner.

Looking at the charts, doesn't look like Excelsior has exceeded the 1500 players at a time for the last week, so as long as they don't multi in the raid zones themselves.

  8. And just to clarify one of the confusing aspects:

Sounds like you used Team Transport to get to the mission?   In the case of the "Board Transit" missions, that will pop you into the mission most of the time from where you are.  (I think there's some variance if mixed alignments are on the team)

The other way to get to those missions is: Any Train entrance, or Ferry Entrance, and in most cases, from the Ouro Exits.  (the back one that leads to the Echos also works for this)

Yeah anniversary tokens only usable for the stuff Luna actually has for sale.  The little Statesman vanity pet?  Reward merits required.

Seems to me to be a bit ill conceived but whatever.

The items that are sold by Luna for Reward Merits were all available last year, while the Time Capsules & Anniversary Tokens were done this year and it was a pretty quick turn around for the devs to get it out the door.   Hopefully more refinement by next year.

  10. Teleport Target is what the powers Recall Friend and Teleport Foe were combined into.

You can teleport an enemy from up to ~100' (iirc) to a location near you, or teleport a friend from around a mile to near you.

When used on an enemy, they might resist, but you'll probably agro them.  (Possibly more than just them, it's a great pulling tool I find)

Friends may or may not have teleport prompt turned on.   Some hostages and helpers can be teleported too

It still has electricity and I'm guessing that the plumbing still works. Civilians still walk the streets. It's a functional neighborhood and not at all destroyed.

Where are you seeing Civilians in Dark Astoria?  I found a few non-targetable ones being threatened by banished pantheon, but no one is walking around

Seems like this is a process that should be able to be automated: using the old DB to create a new one.  But I'm not a programmer, I just took a few low-end classes in college.  Times like this make me wish I'd stuck with it.

I trust the GMs when they say how wonky it is.

You'll have to put together a new DB, transfer all the data and update all the programming to work with it.

  13. Ran a duo, so did 50 capsules to get both of them the main badge.   Over representation of CoT and it took 20 more capsules to get the Rikti badge.  (All done in ~35 minutes)

Then I spent some time trying to verify if embalmed counted toward that badge, but the Vahz didn't want to make another showing.

And running a MM was pretty relaxing since the ambushes and anything nearby got handled.

The Anniversary Tokens can be used to purchase Anniversary Event inspirations, they can be traded on the Auction House for inf, and they will likely be used again for the event next year. If you consider them useless, I'm happy to take them off your hands.

I'm hoping that we'll be able to keep using the tokens to buy the temp powers thru the year.   (Just for the Retro vision toggle)

How many Anniversary Tokens would you suggest it cost for an Anniversary Badge?

I thought about that myself, maybe 25 tokens.    Would probably bump the sale price of the tokens, but it's a short time thing anyway.   (And yes, way cheaper than using reward merits, but would be a time investment)
