I appreciate the feedback. I didnt intentionally not use purples, I am pretty efficient in the market and can usually get enough inf for most anything. I was building for S/L defense (which may not be the best anymore?) and recharge. I wasnt sure if procs were worth it in some of the AOE stuff. I know in long recharge, single target attacks it is the way to go. Should i be adding more procs to those big AOEs (vines, roots, etc.)? I havent decided on incarnates yet as i was going to see how the build felt before picking them. As for endurance, i honestly thought between the full bar you get from popping dom, and drain psyche i would be ok. Maybe that will not be the case in practice. Resistance numbers i find were hard to pick up in sets unless specifically going after them. with the s/l defense changes, maybe that should be the priority instead of defense? I appreciate the responses. I don't mind posting my build but I want to reconfigure it a bit (it's from several years ago before they changed the levels powers are available). Right now it's a plant/psi/cold build with good defense and high recharge. Will try to post it tomorrow.

What are the thoughts on this combo? I just came back to the game and have one sitting in the esrly 30s, but I was reading thst psi is not very good end game. I really like the build in mids - awesome def/resist numbers and perma dom. I am just wondering if I should reroll to a different attack set. all thoughts appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like you're using dark as your blast set. Torrent is a great opener if you put the proc that turns knock back to knock down (can use it without this but it sends them flying and doesn't keep everyone grouped very well). You can use torrent and then fulcrum pretty safely, and then drop your nuke or cone attacks.

The other day I was reading a thread about all The possibilities with dark/dark and how much damage the procs can cause. I can't find the thread anywhere now. I am nearly positive it was in the corr forum, but could be in the defender? I have searched through both. Hopefully someone knows what I'm talking about. thanks in advance.

Thank you!! I feel I have wasted a lot of inf trying to figure this out but can never seem to get the settings right. Going to try some more when I get off work and see if I can make some inf.

Can someone explain the settings in the conversion window? I have read some of the guides on here several times and when I think I understand it I still get outcomes I’m not expecting. In set - is this within the specific set that the IO currently is? So if I have a thunder strike, it will concert to a different thunder strike? Or does it convert to a different ranged damage set? out of set - I can probably answer this one if I understand the first. I thought this mean out of the type of set. So if I have a PBAOE IO and concert with setting I could end up with basically anything else?

This this thread is so active, figure I would make sure I’m not crazy. If a storm summoning defender doesn’t take freezing rain, they are gimping themselves, right? I did an ITF last night and couldn’t figure out why things were not dying faster. Only had two debuggers, myself and s storm defender with no freezing rain.

Someone else asked but I am also curious about how these play with pseudo pets (I.e. rain type powers). I am I trying to decide which way to go for my ice/cold. My gut says radial, but core may be good to increase AoE damage from ice storm and blizzard. Does sleet count since it technically does damage?

Should I be forgoing set bonuses in order to slot more procs in single target attacks? I know set bonuses are important, but also moar damage!

Does it always stun the minions pretty much due to the long recharge?

I would also be very curious if the chance for stun works well enough to slot it in heatloss. Would make getting in close to get a big stack of heatloss a lot safer.

Assault doesn’t really give you very much damage unless you have multiple people running it. Don’t have Pines in front of me but I think it’s like 3%. I don’t think it would really impact your powers the way you are thinking. Maneuvers and weave are so good because of how powerful stacking defense is. Tactics can be enhanced to get decent to hit bonus. Also, I know it’s for thematic reasons, but box and kick are not worth using at all. Maybe as a set mule, but I would not use it over one of your DP attacks.

I can never copy the data links. I have to download the build, open pines, and file and find the file and open from within pines. Super annoying, but they always open after that.

I don’t think it has the same taunt that it has on tanker and brute sets, but I could be wrong. I never notice it creating more agro than normal.

No idea where my posts are ending up (tried posting twice and neither have shown up here), but I really loved your build, Constantine. I think the added capped range defense is well worth the sacrifice to global recharge. I did swap out flight for leaping and went ahead and took acrobatics. I got rid of the slot in aim and a slot in stamina, but not sure where to put them. Currently added one to one of the shields for the +6% accuracy (probably not worth it honestly, but not sure where to put it) and I added a knock back protection to tough. My knock back protection with this additional IO is up in the 20s, which is probably excessive. I was trying to figure out where I could get a 5th LoTG recharge IO, but couldn’t come up with anything. My other two posts I made had the updated build but they for some reason won’t post. I still really want to try Darkir’s build once test comes back up. Thanks again for all the input and discussion, I really appreciate it.

For AoE I still think fire has ice beat due to fire ball. It’s on a short(ish) cool down and does good damage, where blizzard is on a pretty long cool down, but considering it can scourge is pretty awesome. Fire may also catch up in single target damage if you can achieve insta snipe consistently. Someone has probably crunched the numbers.

My main was a fire/dark on live. Though very good solo, did not have enough -regen to solo an AV. I got a little tired of tar patch + rain of fire + fire ball repeat. To OPs original question, i wasn’t a huge fan of radiation blast on live, but that was a long time ago. The AE was kinda meh, the big damage single target attack, though it offered nice soft CC with the stun, the range was so short. Because I found the blast set so underwhelming, I would probs all suggest rolling it as a defender for the bigger debuffs and heal (I personally don’t like defenders, but I just prefer scourge). If you aren’t set on rad as your blast choice, maybe consider a different pairing? I hear water is a lot of fun. I am loving the ice/cold I have been leveling and ice would also go nicely with /rad. Sonic/rad is also good, but again probably better on a defender given the -regen from sonic.

I haven’t looked into martial at all, but I just recreated my old plant/psi Dom from live. Haven’t started leveling yet but saves the name and have him sitting. Psi used to be a great attack secondary, but due to the high resistance at the end game that everyone has been talking about, I am starting to wonder if I would be better off going something else. Decisions, decision!

Can’t you get perma fast snipe with domination? Does that make the snipe worth taking?
