  1. I see the majority of initial discussions here (all 3 posts) on Arsenal Control skipping the T1. I have a different opinion.

As do I. I only had a minute to noodle around on Beta with an Ar/Ar Dom, and I decided that on live I would slot the controls with more damage and see how that goes and let that inform a level 50 build later. Currently at 22, I have Tranq in regular rotation, 3 slots with Acc and Dam. I find it works great as another attack and its fantastic for taking an enemy out of the picture until I can deal with them properly. I'm using Tranq, Cryo, Burst and Buckshot as my attack chain currently. I don't poo-poo T1's as a rule as I think they have their place like (almost) everything.

2 - It slows so it can slot the ice mistral set, and I have a thing for that set

I do too and I have no idea why. I certainly fit the Proc into anything I can throw it in.

I could foresee a helpful suggestion to bind autorun to a mouse button. But I am truly That Guy here: I like using mouses with the 3 base buttons and no more.

Agree. I also will play one handed sometimes. I always bind jump to my mouse thumb button as such.

  3. When throwing my inherent Taser dart, with my weapon in hand, it is now playing the weaponless 'fling' animation as opposed to the overhand 'throw' we get with weapons and shields. And while i'm mentioning that, can we have all animations for the inherent throwables be overhand by default? I know it's late cycle, but never hurts to ask.

I keep thinking about a throwing knife set of some kind lately...

    Thanks.

  4. I made one of these when Homecoming surfaced, got him to 50, and he just sat. I dusted him off, cobbled together an updated build from various ones here, and here's what I came up with.

@nihilii I could not get that data chunk to import into the new Mids, no idea why. Update, I got it to import.

Here is my current. I just updated it in Mids for what I currently have versus what I was aiming for, and the totals are off. I can't figure out why. It's showing Elevated Resistance total, most notably. S/L/E is at 70%, Cold at 29%, Psionic at 54%, Toxic at 81%, Neg at 57% and Fire at 63%. I suck at using Mids and Forum features.

This is not as inexpensive as @nihilii build but it doesn't use anything I would call crazy expensive.

It's more that as a Blaster, i believe is is the direct application of damage that brings more survivability to the character, and the indirect application (via control mechanisms) often has more things working against them in actual play.

I like the whole answer by @tidge, and it's very thorough.

But the above quotes section is really key here.

I hadn't thought about it before as I am an Archery fan and even bigger Trick Arrow fan so my head defaults to that thinking.

Damage really is the key here. I'm going to review my build and shift to more damage in the secondary.

That said, and with that line of thinking in mind, Ice Arrow has always been a solid pick and favorite as it is a great hold and i always proc it, so it becomes another great damage power with utility bonus. I always take it.

  6. This thread is musty and old.

Electrified net arrow does some solid damage. I procc'd it and it's fairly reliable on how often it fires.

I also procc'd glue arrow, which you can't really do as well with the trick arrow version. Or rather, it isn't the same. I get a large chunk of damage off that, it just seems to apply to target only and whatever else is in AoE range isn't affected.

  7. I am also a big fan of this set. Commenting on some of the things said...

On my Poison/DP Defender, I mostly use Chem rounds with some Cryo, jives well with poison.

Chem rounds mostly on my DP/Dark Corrupter.

I don't remember on my Sentinel as I haven't played him in a minute.

On the DP/Martial Blaster i use Incendiary mostly.

    Suppressing Fire:

It does more damage and range on a Sentinel iirc, but on every toon, i just proc the shit out of it and i always include a Lockdown +2 Mag hold proc and i just use that power as a solid damage/hold.

On the Defender, i have that, the hold from the Poison set and Dominate from the epic; all three proceed, giving me 3 ST holds and three of my highest damage powers.

I love that power and would never skip it.

I am going to do DP/Tactical, and one i never considered until i read this-DP/Devices.

I have been amazed at the great synergy between Poison/Storm Blast. They cover each other's weaknesses extremely well.

I caught another post of yours in another Poison thread about this combo and I just couldn't get it out of my head. Kept thinking about it so I just rolled a Storm/Poison Corrupter. Feeling that and loving it.

Already a huge fan of Poison having a 50 Poison/Pistols/Psy.

I agree with what someone above said about the flexibility in building with poison as well.

    Good stuff.

It's not NEEDed but certainly made my life easier.

Agree. Thrax, you have more LotG Globals in your build than I do. I used Hasten to maximize my Procc situations. If it's working without, go with it.

  10. For me, I couldn't get the data chunk to work, but the link did.!? I am also not running latest version of MIDS. That's probably the issue.

Build looks good. It's really about what works and what's fun. You didn't do all the frankenslotting and Proccing I did but you have more set bonuses and higher numbers in a bunch of places. Only things I'll add having said the above is...

Paralytic Poison- I have it slotted with 4 and Procced, same for Dominate. With those 2, I can hold almost anything and drop almost anything due to the damage.

With all the full sets you have in there, you could definitely drop a slot from Stamina and use it elsewhere as you are getting plenty of EndRed in each power.

I'll add more if I think of it.

  11. Here you go. Current build. Poison I based heavily on the choices in Frosticus' guide. With DP, I just used many of the same principals in the guide, to great effect, turns out.

Thanks I’ll check it out. I was thinking of world of confusion too. I have it on my nature defender too though.

I just looked through the guide. I posted a build I made before reading the guide. I'm recreating my current build in MIDS. I'll post it as soon as I can finish it.

  13. I used this as a guideline for my Poison/DP.  I could swear I saved my final Mids build on this character but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

For Pistols, at the end I had Pistols, ExShot, Empty Clips, Bullet Rain, Suppressing Fire, HoB.

I love this combo. This was my first to 50 on Homecoming. I took Psychic Mastery set with it for the Sheild, the Hold and WoC. Since I play it in melee, VG and WoC work great mitigating enemies.

  14. Some people have given some great advice here. I'll add and you can take it or leave it related to pistols.

I don't know PD as well as I just rolled a Pain/Rad Def and haven't had enough time on it.

On my Poison/DP I have these powers:

    Pistols

    Empty

    Suppresive

    Bullet

    ExShot

    Hob

If you want to use the -Dam in Chem ammo for debuffs then you need/should take Empty as well as BR. With regular ammo it has a Def Debuff which is useful.

I proc out Pistols as its a quick recharge and the procs still fire reliably.

I also proc Suppresive. The procs fire VERY reliably turning this into a Damage powerhouse WITH a hold of you have typed ammo selected, Disorient without typed ammo selected.

I didn't always, but I now cycle thru the various ammo types whilst playing to fully utilize the various effects. So now I might open with Empty Clips/regular ammo to lay down the -Def, then switch to Incendiary to burn shit, then back to Regular if the enemies are too close to blow them away from me with the knockback in most of the powers.(which is very satisfying with gun powers btw)

Im more open in a build to take Dual Wield than Piercing Rounds as it cycles faster,  with good damage. While Piercing rounds has a 20% -Def component with regular ammo, I just find the animation sooooo bloody long to bother. Which is weird, as I'm more a concept than min/max numbers player.

    Anyway, there you go.

  16. I would keep FoA as is. Proc Ice, Acid and Oil. Explosive Arrow does pretty well with procs but mine isn't.

I wouldn't sweat Scorp shield. Flash arrow will give you a lot by way of -tohit. Yer also gaining PBU which is quite nice although I've never taken it on a character.

  17. I know Poison well. Water I have on a 36 Dec, but I'm still new to the set.

You have all the key Poison powers. I'd drop Antidote and take something else and put the slots elsewhere unless you really need it for muling something.  Plenty of people will say drop Elixir, but it's good for unique and it's always great to have a rez.

I am on my phone so I cant look at Mids but I only have 3 slots in envenom but you may be getting bonuses there I can't see. Ditto Antidote. But the build looks sound. Good thematic match too.

Oh, also put a 4th slot in health and get rid of Alkaloid. I used it all the time until I speccd out, but I dont miss it.

  18. @KaizenSozeI've just been hankering to try a Corruptor and stumbled on this topic. In all the years I never evthen considered a /TA Corruptor or Arch/TA for that matter. You know I'm down with TA and this has me thinking.

More on topic; i dont see any Annihilation in there which has the -Res proc in it and some decent set bonuses iirc. Possibly Shield Breaker(pretty sure) from Accurate tohit for the lethal dam proc. There's another ranged set with a chance to hold proc that I find reliable and fit where I can as well.

I am not surprised at all this worked well and I think you are on to something cool here in the builds realm. I'm gonna noodle with this when I have time.
