  1. Did the new patch switch Inverted Mouse and Normal Mouse? I always play Normal Mouse, in that when I hold the left button and push forward, I look up, and when I pull the mouse back, I look down. Since today's patch, Normal Mouse options does the opposite, which was really making me dizzy! I switched to Inverted Mouse and now everything seems "normal" to me. Am I just imagining this?
  2. I logged into Tequilla tonight and the game screen is wide and awful (768x something) rather than my standard screen size. When I try to change it, it goes to a tiny screen on my monitor. I cannot click on Options. I cannot go into the game. I can type in my password but cannot go any farther. I have to use Task Manager to exit the game. I don't know how to update anything or get any new data. I've read through the troubleshooting and have no idea what any of this means. I'm using Win 10. Neither the 64-bit and the 32-bit work at all. Help!
  3. On the Live game, I had a Trick Arrow/Archery Defender who was okay to play (I've never liked playing Defenders, but this one was passable). I really liked the character concept, though, so I recently recreated this alt as an Archery/Trick Arrow Corruptor. He's fine. I just recently learned that Blasters now have the option of an Archery/Tactical Arrow character (Paragon Wiki doesn't list this combination). Here's my question: Which is more fun to play for A/TA, as a Corruptor or as a Blaster? I assume the Blaster does more damage, but does the Corruptor have more survivability? It appears that the secondary power sets are really similar, but maybe Corruptors have some inherent survival strength over Blasters. Right now, my Corruptor is a little blah. I have a couple of other Corruptors that are more fun to play (and do more exciting attacks/damage).
  4. Thanks Werner, that's what I was hoping to hear. Sometimes, you just need that boost to get you through your current battle. I had a situation yesterday where I was in a hallway between 2 groups of even-level enemies, both about to rush at me. I'd used all my inspirations, my health bar was at about 50%, and I realized I was about to get killed by a bunch of minions. So deflating! lol
  5. I started a StJ/Electric Scrapper last week, an 8 foot tall killer robot who looks fantastic (he won 6 million inf. in a costume contest an hour after I got him out of the character creator!). Obviously, /Electric is the natural armor for him. However, at level 19, his lack of regen is really making him tough to play. That green bar drops during fights and it seems to take forever to bounce back (unless I'm in the hospital with him). I'm really struggling with low level missions that my /WP Brute, my /Invul Brute, and my Bane sailed through with no problem whatsoever. At level 20, I can take Energize, which says that it heals "some" hit points and increases regeneration "for a short time". Is this the answer to this character's prayers, or is it a relatively minor improvement? Should I plan on taking the Medicine Pool to help out? I'm sure by level 50 there will be plenty of options, but the prospect of dragging a sub-par alt all the way there if I'm not enjoying playing him seems like a waste. Any suggestions/advice?
  6. Oh, that's right! I'd completely forgotten about that. Thanks!
  7. Back in 2004, my first character was a Stone/Stone Tanker. This was when Stamina came at level 20 and a travel power was at level 14. There were much fewer missions back then, and I was too new and intimidated to play on a team, so I spent my first 2 weeks in the game running around on the road that wraps around Perez Park, street-sweeping. Ugh! My next 2 alts were an Ice/Ice Tanker and an AR/Devices Blaster. its no wonder I quit playing for a year after that!
  8. I was going through my "Prima Official Game Guide" for City of Heroes from 2004 and found some handwritten notes that I'd jotted down back then. It was a series of commands you could enter in-game to get information on a variety of things. The list is as follows: E = official real time F = official Paragon City time G = # of heroes in zone H = praises a hero J = how many times you used a power that day K = how much damage per power that day M = total time played since character creation N = # of times logged in as current hero O = how long today as current hero I remember I used some of these to keep track on my alts, but for the life of me, I can't remember where I enter these commands or how they work. Does anyone know how I actually use these to get this information?
  9. Just as an aside, how are you guys able to see how many players are online?
  10. I agree with 5099y_74c05 above about best primaries. Of those, Plant/ is probably the best pick for a first-timer. Lots of control, and you get a good feel for the cadence of playing a Controller (Seeds of Confusion is such a nice power at level 8!). I've played Plant/ with /TA, /Rad, /Sonic, and /Poison. Of those, /Rad and /TA are pretty strong. For me, I like coming up with more "theme" characters, which is 100% of the reason I'm working on /Poison right now (so far, the /Poison part isn't doing all that much for me). P.S.- I had an Ill/FF on Live many years ago. Its do-able, but it was SLOW!

    Strong Poison

^^^^Well that's disappointing to hear. I just made a Plant/Poison Controller last night because the combination seems like such a natural. I love Plant Control, but I tried a Plant/TA, Plant/Rad, and Plant/Sonic back in the day, and none of those felt quite right. I was hoping Plant/Poison would be exactly what I was looking for. I haven't actually played her after the tutorial (the character creation took me most of the evening to finish -- so much fun!) and I simply ran out of time to play any missions afterwards! LOL I'll give it a try tonight and see how it goes.
  12. On mine, I skipped Salt Crystals (not really useful) and Hurricane (loud and obnoxious). This is a great combination for Controllers, BTW. it's my favorite in the game.
  13. This looks similar to one of my favorite alts in CoH. I'm recreating him now in this new version of the game. You're right; the Bane Spider Soldier is awesome and fun. I spent many a happy hour bashing in the skull of some poor minions! lol
