This one reminded me: when you get your first tip you get a popup explaining alignment and morality missions, but nowadays your first tip is almost certain to be a tour guide mission. I remember being confused by this in the past so I have to imagine brand new players will also be confused. Having separate popups for the first tour guide and align tip would be ideal, but if that's not possible then the message should at least be changed to mention tour guide tips and also to mention that alignment tips won't drop until level 20.

Matthew Habashy's whole arc is a direct followup to the Galaxy City storyline. His dialogue when you first talk to him clearly assumes that you just did that tutorial and makes no attempt to explain what is going on to people who skipped it or did Outbreak instead. Sending brand new players there after explicitly discouraging them from playing the Galaxy tutorial is just going to be confusing. The old City Hall contacts aren't that bad, and the game will (for better or worse) direct you to Twinshot when you get to level 5 anyway.

I went and played through both Outbreak and Breakout (on the beta server, though I don't know if anything is different). Some thoughts: Outbreak is not as bad as I remembered and I apologize for polluting the thread with my poor recollection. (I think I was subconsciously conflating it with the alternate version from that one Ouroboros mission, which is really tedious.) Despite that, Breakout still feels distinctly better. You're almost always moving forward rather than running back and forth, the NPCs you talk to have a faint hint of personality, and "I'm breaking out of prison" actually works as a narrative in a way that "there are zombies, therefore I will do arbitrary tasks for some random cops" doesn't. I think if Outbreak is going to go back to being the recommended tutorial, it would be worth looking into ways to make it more fun and immersive in future updates. Neither of them seem to have been updated since back when there were only five archetypes for each side. When explaining the health and endurance bars, one of the NPCs in Breakout (Jimmy Dortz / Angel Lopez) mentions that if you're a Brute or Dominator you'll have a third bar, neglecting Sentinels. The corresponding NPC in Outbreak (Officer Parks) doesn't mention any of them. Also, when you get your first combat mission in Breakout you'll get a little "hey if you're a Mastermind you should summon your pet now and maybe read the help to learn how to command it" but Outbreak doesn't include this. Maybe better than copying the above bits into Outbreak would be to copy from the Praetorian tutorial the bit where Dr. Steffard gives you a rundown of your AT (no "if you're a..." needed) into both of them.

Unlocking (some) Level-Locked Content

I assumed the person who bumped the thread was talking about PvP zones. -
Unlocking (some) Level-Locked Content

This thread is a year and a half old and out of date. You can in fact enter all those zone from level 1 now. -

That would be this hood, currently only available with hats. -
Focused Feedback: Costumes

I think they have to be their own thing due to the forced sybil belt. I'm not totally sure why the Tight and With Skin versions are separate when they aren't for jackets and such, but maybe there's a technical reason there too. -
Well I think this is also part of the point. You can make your Batman knockoff who is super rich as a backstory without the game itself contradicting you and saying you have no money to start.

Presumably this kind of thing is why the currency is "influence" or "infamy" in the first place. It's not supposed to be money. The auction house definitely muddies the waters a bit though...

The finale of Marshal Brass's first arc also has the same "intentionally wait out mission timer for alternate ending" mechanic as that Radio mission.

Bugs pulled from Focused Feedback Threads
Tatterhood replied to The Wildheart's topic in [Open Beta] Bug Reports
On a similar note, the Murder of Crows version only plays a sound effect at the origin and not at the destination which is kind of jarring when moving long distances. Maybe the effect could be split in half with the first part playing at the origin and the second part at the destination? -

Yeah, the unchangeable belt was disappointing. If there's some technical reason why it can't be changed it would be nice to at least get some alternate textures for it. -
Focused Feedback: Costumes
Tatterhood replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
The seethrough version of the sybil costume (Roman Sybil 2) doesn't seem to animate correctly in the costume creator. Some parts move and some are frozen, and some of the frozen parts are frozen in a position where they're clipping. Seems to be fine outside the costume creator. -
Focused Feedback: Various Power Updates

I'm really happy to see this, but is there any chance that the other weird AT inconsistencies in Dark Armor could be looked at as well? -
Focused Feedback: Epic / Ancillary Power Pools
Tatterhood replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I feel like Ninja Tool Mastery being renamed Weapon Mastery doesn't really make sense. The only power they have in common is Caltrops / Tashibishi which doesn't even have the same name, and one gives you a sword while the other doesn't. Thematically Weapon Mastery seems to go more along with Munitions Mastery, while Ninja Tool Mastery as the only epic pool that comes with a non-mace weapon deserves to have a unique name. -
'no fade no pulse' appearance option on dark armor toggles
Tatterhood replied to machopi's topic in Bug Reports
Not OP, but I've also been frustrated with this recently and did some testing on the beta server. I think everything is WAI on Scrappers and all other archetypes have bugs. I believe the "fade" part refers to Cloak of Darkness turning you invisible and the "pulse" refers to the effect of Dark Embrace, Murky Cloud, and Obsidian Shield which makes your character turn completely black for a moment every few seconds. Both No Fade or Pulse and Minimal FX disable the Cloak of Darkness invisibility on all ATs, but the pulsing effect is inconsistent between powers and between ATs. (Minimal FX removes or reduces various darkness tendril effects in addition to affecting the fading/pulsing.) Dark Embrace: Pulses by default. On all but Brutes, the pulsing is disabled by No Fade or Pulse. On Brutes, No Fade or Pulse is identical to Color Tintable and there is no way to disable the pulsing without switching to Soul Noir. (There is no Minimal FX option for this power.) Murky Cloud: On Scrappers, this pulses by default and both No Fade or Pulse and Minimal FX disable the pulsing. On all other ATs, it doesn't pulse by default and there is no No Fade or Pulse option. However, on Brutes, Stalkers, and Sentinels it does pulse with Minimal FX on. There is no way to make it pulse on Tankers. Obsidian Shield: Pulses by default. On all ATs, the No Fade or Pulse option disables the pulsing. On Scrappers and Sentinels the Minimal FX option also disables the pulsing, but on Brutes, Tankers, and Stalkers it doesn't. The biggest problem is definitely the fact that No Fade or Pulse doesn't work properly on Brute Dark Embrace, but the other inconsistencies are also annoying. -
Two from Seer 1381's arc: Simple typo ("stationr") in the chat message for this glowy in the first mission. Missing space in the description for the third mission.
