  1. The version I had. The map was not rotated to match the instance's actual layout. (On the new version, there is a fair amount of map that is marked as outside the instanced area that you run around in, and the side mission points are mismarked or missing, but that is not relevant to this post and should be posted on the vidiotmaps thread.) So as I ran around the Founder's Falls safeguard without Reveal, the map layout as it was uncovered matched the instance's layout. Then when I used Reveal, the map was rotated in the wrong way and did not accurately show either where my character was or the bank, mission exit, or PPD station. So as I said, the game should only be pulling one map for the instance, not two different ones depending on what power you use.
  2. I don't follow. The map in the map window should not be different just because I use the Reveal power. I already know using the Reveal power only shows the map until you leave, so if you leave the mission without completing it for any reason and re-enter, the map is hidden by fog of war again. However, the map in the map window should still be the same regardless of whether I uncover it by fully exploring it or by using the Reveal power. The game should only be pulling up a single map file for the zone, whether correct version or not.
  3. As a heads up, was previously reported in the Mislabeled map gate thread.
  4. *looks through OP* *rechecks OP* *hopes just missed it and looks through OP again* ... What about ninjas?! Why does everyone overlook ninjas?! 😭 Anyway, not sure how I feel about this idea. It can work for bots... but I don't really see it making sense for the other pet types. Unless you're trying to make Legion from Castelvania, or a giant robot of any kind, merging MM pets into a gestalt seems a bit far-fetched. Making a new type of MM that has that power though? Depending on the pets gained, could very well be an interesting take on the MM AT.
  5. I thought you had "peaced out" and "kindly left the thread to be closed"? So... why are you still harping? This thread is dead. Your suggestion is not going to be implemented. *sigh* I'm not a lawyer. I don't work legal. Still pretty sure they do trials instead of trails though. (Sorry, cheap shot, but I found the word choice funny.) As someone who has had to oversee contractors, they counted against the unit TO&E. The unit budget tracked payments to them and allocated unit assigned funds to them. Kind of like actual employees in that regard. They were governed by a different set of rules and they could not be asked to work outside of their contract, but were otherwise treated as employees. The assigned pools of money were different, but both pools of money were still reported as unit personnel costs and tracked on the unit budget. Hence, my argument that contractor or regular employee, your suggestion will cause unnecessary problems for the Homecoming team. Now! Since you have kindly decided to close this thread... before you decided to continue it... and as pretty much every person posting on this thread except for you has said this is a bad idea and done what they could to show you why the OP is a bad idea, can this thread now finally be done?
  6. Now, if you know a 3D modeler or a programmer that was willing to do the work without pay and donate it to Homecoming, then please let the devs know. THAT should not pose any problems.
  7. How is this thread not dead yet? Anyway, I'm willing to bet what you file with the city, state, and Internal Affairs is to prove agency allocated funds are not being used to fund club activities, and your unit's budget document does not include club activities, purchases, or sales. So my statement still stands. Paying a server is no different than paying rent. It is not an employee, you are paying for access to something you need to operate. Paying someone to make new content however, is a different consideration. Now you have hired an employee regardless of long-term or short-term. Now the allowance for being a completely volunteer, unpaid team maintaining a pirate server with some degree of permission from the owning company is out the window. Now you are in effect a company pushing unlicensed, unowned, intellectual property. As a cop, you should understand what that means for the game. NCSoft tolerates Homecoming, but has not authorized it to function. Please, just let this thread die. If Homecoming ever becomes official, NCSoft signs off on us as being authorized as the devs are trying to do, THEN we can look at this suggestion.
  8. I'm not sure how to flag this because it makes no sense. On the Founder's Falls safeguard, if you run around exploring, the map fills in and matches your position in the safeguard. The map window layout is the same as the safeguard actual map. However, if you use the Reveal power, it pulls up the outdated Vidiotmaps map of the Founder's Falls safeguard. Why would the game have one map for the map window if you just play through and a different map if you use a specific power to show you the whole map on the map window? I know I need to find an updated Vidiotmaps, but if the Vidiotmaps addon is overriding the map window, then... shouldn't it always show the Vidiotmaps map even if I don't use Reveal?
  9. I think you are mixing a few things here. As far as I know, a Booster Club, or simply club as you put it, is an internal thing not reportable outside of the agency beyond non-operable morale functions and funding. They are not tracked on any agency budgetary document. I may be wrong, but that is how I remember it. Hiring contractors to perform operable work, such as making new models, is tracked on an agency's budgetary document and is reportable. So your comparison does not really work. Hiring a lawyer is more comparable, but still falls outside of an operational budget and is not an employee, whether contractor or otherwise. Hiring a modeler for the game would be an added operational expense, above and beyond what the game needs to run. That makes the volunteer Homecoming an operating company with employees, even if the employee is a contractor. I'm no expert, but from my time working unit finances, that is my understanding of it all. The perception that a non-profit volunteer group is making a profit is sufficient cause to initiate litigation. Especially when that non-profit is operating under the sufferance of the company that actually owns the materials and intellectual properties utilized by the non-profit. During the litigation it can be proven the donations are not profit but are paying for other operational expenses, but that can still shut down the game before the litigation runs its course. I'm pretty sure the volunteers we have as devs can't afford a lawsuit from NCSoft. When people start making donations towards a specific item, such as new power sets, new costumes, whatever, they can have the expectation that it will be prioritized based on how much funding it earned compared to others. This may or may not happen, but has happened often enough that you can't just write off other posts commenting on it. NCSoft is a standard company. Meaning they are greedy, self-interested, and vindictive. I think you are under-estimating what they would be willing to do to Homecoming if HC accepts more donations than they absolutely need to operate.
  10. Founder's Falls Safeguard has all Arachnos forces instead of Council forces. They are labeled as Council Looters and Council Guards, but they are all Fortunatas and Mu. This may be because I am exemplared down doing Agent Hassell's missions. Also, exiting the PPD station spawned me under the map. Using /stuck or trying to teleport does not get me back on the map. /stuck spawns just below the map to plummet back down and lose all but 1 HP. Using teleport won't let me select any location but my character, and even then, is flagged as unusable. It's just all kinds of messed up. It spawned an Ascendant Archon in the arson prevention side mission which is fine, except he was called Galaxy Archon.
  11. I don't get it. Why the fixation on year-round trick or treating? It only sees much use in the first week of the Halloween event each year as is aside from PI ToTing farming.
  12. Have them not get stuck on stairs... "It's only 3 steps down! Just take that last step already! NO! Don't go back the way you came! Where are you going?!" Have them not get lost in a straight hallway... "Just have to get the NPC down this hall and (s)he is out... and... there (s)he goes back three rooms for God only knows why...." Have them not run over to other mobs... "Save me, hero!" "You saved me! Thank you!" *runs over to mobs at far end of room player has not reached yet* "Save me, hero!" Save yourself! You're obviously working with the <insert enemy faction name>!
  13. It's not a bug. Those contacts are all pre-level 20, I believe. Under the alignment system, you could not change from blue to red until level 20. So contacts earlier than that did not need to be coded to check for alignment. Null allows players to bypass the alignment system and be whatever alignment they want immediately. They still need to be updated because of Null, but not a bug.
  14. It's fine, th0ughtGun. I knew even before I posted the thread that I was going to catch a lot of hate for it. I'm actually surprised I got as little as I did. I prefer playing red side, but the entire time you spend on red side is spent with the game calling you a terrible villain. Not a terrible person or a terrifying villain. Not an evil villain. Just a terrible villain. Like the devs made red side but wanted the player to know in no uncertain terms that they are playing wrong or wanted to shame the player back to blue side. "You defeated a key rival for your level? You're pathetic! Wait, you went hero and did the exact same thing? You're absolutely amazing! Greatest hero ever!" Like I said though, I would rather the idiotic insults be removed and the kill... I mean... defeat civilians badge not exist. Since it does exist though and there is no way a badge is going to be removed from the game, then at least let it be for cause. (Also, I understand this will never be implemented. So I guess, it's just a rant posing as a suggestion.)
  15. Turrets and force field generators don't count. I haven't even seen them show on the map. It is always a lone minion further in on the map or in a sideroom when it happens to me.
  16. Sometimes the waypoint is a group of doors. Either 2 or 4. Click the door at the waypoint and it may still be the wrong door and you actually needed the door next to it. Happens to me infrequently, but it does happen. (Mainly because even if there is only one door at the waypoint, the waypoint can be off by up to 15 feet. At least when it is a single door, it is obvious which door the waypoint means. And that is not even counting zones like St. Martial where you have to find the correct door to take you inside the skyscraper to find the waypoint actual door. It may only have 16 doors spread around the base of the skyscraper, but only 1 of those 16 will actually let you in to look for your mission door, assuming you went to the skyscraper that actually links to the target lobby that has your mission door.)
  17. *punts Six-Six back to the Swashbuckler thread* I love the gun/sword idea, but we already have a thread on that.
  18. I should have been more clear. Apologies. The moving around is the walking back and forth in the same spot a lot of mobs do. And the CoT mob is always a minion type so far. I have yet to see a Hordeling, let alone the Hordeling Hurler lieutenant, be the one extra mob.
  19. Other GMs don't have multiple arcs focused on taking them down. Like Milk Sheik says, Mot has an entire zone of contacts devoted to the story of how he is contained and made to feed on himself rather than devour the world. (Which he actually partially does in one of the arcs.) If there is going to be a Dark Astoria event, please expand into something that isn't already basically the zone's entire focus. Like the Talons of Vengeance summon something even more fearsome than the less than fearsome Mother Keres to re-anchor themselves in the world. Something not Mot.
  20. Don't know why, but on rare occasions it happens. On a Freakshow mission, it makes sense. Someone self-rezzed after the last standing mob was defeated. On a Malta or Circle of Thorns mission? It makes a lot less sense. Have the map open to know where I still need to go, defeat a group of enemies, mission comes up as finished, but I see a moving red pointer. And when I investigate, there is a lone mob just looking around.
  21. Ah. Thanks for clarifying. I had misread your post. My apologies.
  22. So... the only difference is... uhm... everything? The only two things they have that are the same is whether each attack in the set is single target or not and the final mechanics of each power. As you said, everything else is different. Look, you want a dedicated Dual SMG power set? Fine, but differentiate it from what is already in the game that has dual SMGs, even if SMGs are just model options in the power set. What makes Dual SMGs unique or otherwise different as a set rather than a straight clone of an existing power set that uses different animations? If there is no difference, then there really isn't a point to asking for the set because it already exists. It just needs animations that are more sensible and less... uhm... neurotic....
  23. Broadsword power set is a single-handed weapon. The only katana listed is in quotes, presumably because it is not a katana. Katana power set is a two-handed weapon. Though there are weapon style overlaps with broadsword, it is also the only one of the two with katanas in it. The difference here is you are using a one-handed or hand and a half weapon one handed as opposed to a hand and a half or two-handed weapon two-handed. The fighting styles are different. Dual Pistols power set includes dual wielded SMGs as weapon models. Dual SMGs power set would include... uhm... dual wielded SMGs as weapon models? There is no differentiation between Dual Pistols and Dual SMGs as proposed except for a non-silly attack animation that can be requested for Dual Pistols. Come up with something that differentiates Dual SMGs from Dual Pistols other than less silly animations (which I'm sure some of us would like for Dual Pistols anyway).
  24. The point would seem to be the difficulty for the level rather than it being too difficult to complete. Which, yeah, it is way difficult for the character's expected progression. Unless you have another character able to feed enhancements to your character. Not impossible, but then again, I only do it at +0/x1.
  25. It's 1 EB plus 1 EB per player or team size setting. So 2-9 EBs. They give warning of their big attack, but no, there is nothing to indicate area to be hit. If you dash back a little, like maybe 10 feet, the big attack should miss. It's the regular hits like a freight truck attacks that keep me running and kiting them. I tend to play squishies though. (I also usually don't have any enhancements except for a few attuned IOs I managed to buy.)
