Just reading the power on Mids. It is a toggle. It is an armor. It does have penalties. So yeah, I'm serious. I don't like the stone armor set, so I don't use it. Mids is my only reference.

Maybe the "energy blast' set can have a very minor DoT secondary. Non-concussive/kinetic energy tends to burn after all.

Statesman: is it time to resurrect him or replace him?

Except she is the one that explains to your character how to access the Well's power without being taken over by it. -
Trial temps should delete themselves at trials end
Rudra replied to Oklahoman's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Put a timer on them like some other temp powers. They disappear after an hour of real time, maybe a half hour. (Edit: Dimensional shifting of the powers renders them unstable and they phase back to their home dimension (for like the quills). The people who made them used unstable chemicals and they go inert (for like the grenades). The character simply forgot where (s)he put them for lack of interest and can't find them again. Trans-dimensional goblins thought you were hiding treasure in them or that they were valuable and stole them while you weren't paying attention. Whatevs.) -
Minor Improvement to Archery: Improved Aim
Rudra replied to oedipus_tex's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I know I'm going to get blasted for this... ... but here goes.... *dons Devil's Advocate horns* *dons flak vest and raincoat* *prays to survive* Okay, archers are not inherently keen sighted for being archers, neither are all archers actually keen sighted. Though I will grant that every comic archer character I know of has ridiculously keen eyesight, but I only know Hawkeye, Green Arrow, and Red Arrow/Speedy. (Some would argue inhumanly, supernaturally keen eyesight on these normal human characters, at least as Hawkeye is portrayed in the movie, but I digress.) However, so too do the gunners. Not the random schmuck thug with a gun, but the named individuals like Deadshot. So are you going to ask for this bonus to be applied to AR as well? Or Dual Pistols? (Since that is closer to Deadshot for his twin arm... whatever you want to call them.... *takes off Devil's Advocate horns* Okay, that said, I found archery as a set pretty damn boring. I don't think boosting ToHit on it is really going to change that or really improve its theme. I am open to just about anything that would make it a more interesting set to play though. I wish I had ideas for what, but I don't. Apologies. *preemptively calls funeral parlor and starts pricing coffins* -
Maybe have Nictus start spawning in high level Council missions? That could be a good start at least.

Removing -Fear in Storm Summoning Powers
Rudra replied to blue4333's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Response greatly appreciated. Normally, the OP doesn't read like a huge question to me, so a reaction without followup explanation makes sense to me. It is a response to a set idea, and an explanation for a response would be either rooted in a feeling or a view on current mechanics. This one read like a question rather than a suggestion to me, so the reaction without explanation left me baffled. Sorry for the imposition. -
Removing -Fear in Storm Summoning Powers

@The_Warpact, you gonna give a reason for the thumbs down? The OP asked a question. I never used the set, so I can't answer. You thumbs downed the OP, so hopefully you have an answer. You wanna share? -
The Galaxies, War Wolves, Arakhn, Requiem, and possibly the Vampyri are all linked to the Nictus. The Galaxies have a part of a (dead?) Nictus placed in them. (In a mission from Dr. Shelly Percey, the Nictus is alive and whole, and is how a Galaxy is made. Another mission, contact not remembered, it is mentioned only a fragment of a usually dead Nictus is placed in a host to make a Galaxy, with the knowledge that a partial Nictus can grow into a whole Nictus. Unclear if dead is permitted or if must be alive to grow into a whole Nictus and take over the host's body.) The Wolves are noted in at least one mission as being failed attempts to use the Nictus and in another as simply made by the use of Nictus, means unclear. The Vampyri are hinted at having a Nictus connection in at least one mission, but are otherwise specified as being a type of super soldier.

Statesman: is it time to resurrect him or replace him?
Rudra replied to Voltor's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
The Flames of Prometheus are supposed to be their own incarnate bit according to the dialogue you see in the mission that unlocks the Mortimer Kal SF. Mortimer Kal sends you to get the Flames of Prometheus to unlock your incarnate abilities, which he had intended for himself. Unlike the incarnate powers you get post level 50 though, the level 20'ish Flames of Prometheus only give you a buff. Supposedly a temporary unlocking of incarnate ability from my understanding of the SF. -
Statesman: is it time to resurrect him or replace him?

I really don't see Ms. Liberty getting Well of the Furies enhanced. It's not a hereditary thing. Then again, I didn't see Positron getting Well of the Furies enhanced either, but here we are. I'm not a very good seer.... (Speaking of Well enhanced individuals... why is Lady Grey such a weak incarnate?) -
Novel idea. Question for hard light: how would you work the force wall? For it to be an obstruction, it would have to function as part of the map to some degree. Otherwise it would function like the debris from telekinesis(? The power that creates and hurls objects). Those don't block line of sight to prevent attacks and don't block movement, they can just be shoved aside by walking through them. Though with difficulty at times. And once you manage to make the wall obstruct line of sight to prevent attacks and force the mobs to go around it, using map geometry to force it most likely, how would it go away? Would it act like a stationary pet that has health and when either health or timer runs out, whichever occurs first, the pet goes away? If using map geometry rules, how would the pet work as map geometry and still maintain a temporary status? I like the idea, don't get me wrong. Especially the 'can affect the user instead of being ally use only part' (Edit: for light shield version), I'm just wondering how to make it work. Edit: Might I also make name suggestions? To add to the pool of possibilities? Basic use: No new name. It already has its name. Light Shield Force Field: Just Light Shield should work. Or Personal Barrier. Hard Light Force Field: Offensive Barrier or Damage Shield.

Statesman: is it time to resurrect him or replace him?
Rudra replied to Voltor's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Boo, @PeregrineFalcon! Boo with your logic and letting player characters be both the main character of a game and the supporting leader rallying everyone to you! I wanted a shocked world from the Big Reveal that the Statesman rallying everyone to your banner as you lead the charge to topple Battalion and have Rularuu eat him was really Lord Nemesis! I say boo! 🤣😂🤣 -
Granite isn't much of an Oh *%&! button considering it is a toggle and it reduces both your attack speed and damage. More of an armor with lots of penalties.

Same mission: Darrin Wade's Wish List. (I'm seeing a theme trend here....) This time for completing the rogue aligned mission. The chat window clue says Darrin's name is misspelled as Darin.
-
Same mission: Darrin Wade's Wish List. Except this is where you choose to accept the rogue option. First line: "Darrin Wade has a reputation of using people for his own end -". Unless Darrin is using people to get himself killed, it should probably read more like "Darrin Wade has a reputation of using people for his own ends -"
-
Did a search for Darrin on this thread and did not see this yet, so.... In the intro to Darrin Wade's Wish List, the first paragraph after the quoted letter says "Darrin Wade, a newcomer to the Isles, is definitely someone who has layers upon layers of plans up his sleeve. These artifacts would probably further them. It's safe to assume all of these plans will lead to him obtaining some sort of immense power, given what you've heard from him." Unless Darrin is running around telling the player his plans for power, to eventually merge with Rularuu, this should likely read "Darrin Wade, a newcomer to the Isles, is definitely someone who has layers upon layers of plans up his sleeve. These artifacts would probably further them. It's safe to assume all of these plans will lead to him obtaining some sort of immense power, given what you've heard of him." instead. Edit: Also, the line "If the artifacts that the Carnies have really aren't genuine, you could try to steal those and sell it to Darrin Wade - " should read "If the artifacts that the Carnies have really aren't genuine, you could try to steal those and sell them to Darrin Wade - ". Otherwise you are going from plural noun to singular.

Statesman: is it time to resurrect him or replace him?
Rudra replied to Voltor's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
All the more reason for it to be Nemesis! I mean... Mender Silos! He's got the tech to impersonate Statesman, even if he has to dust it off. He has the knowledge of who, what, where, when, why, and how. Who better? 🤣 -
I don't really see the Council and Carnival merging. They are antithetical to each other as far as I can tell. And in the incarnate arcs, you start to see more powerful Council without the need for merging disparate groups. Just have the devs expand the incarnate Council or further explore the Paths of the Dark Council.

Thanks. Did not know either of those bits. (Edit: Boo! That means no Infested Tyrant future battle....) -
Statesman: is it time to resurrect him or replace him?
Rudra replied to Voltor's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Ooh! Here's a dumb thought! For the Battalion story line, which yes, please continue it, Lord Nemesis in his Mender Silos persona steps up to lead the fight instead of Statesman/Tyrant! We don't know how if Nemesis, I mean Silos, got any new powers as the leader of Ouroboros. And as the one acting as the spearpoint in organizing a defense against Battalion, in his role as the Lead Mender, it would make more sense for him to be The One to lead the fight. Especially since the Freedom Phalanx, Vindicators, Arachnos, et al have no idea he is a far future Nemesis. -
This would be my suggestion to improve FF (and Thermal and Cold): Let the player use the powers on himself/herself. The fact some of the powers are ally use only and not self as well is why I refuse to use the set(s).

Statesman: is it time to resurrect him or replace him?
Rudra replied to Voltor's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Except, isn't Tyrant dead for all intents and purposes too? He was reduced to a normal super... because that isn't an oxymoron... anyway, he was stripped of his powers by the Well and left defeated in the Magisterium, right? Assuming he wasn't killed in that battle, he still would be eaten by Hamidon... ... INFESTED-TYRANT!!!!! Anyway, is Tyrant dead or imprisoned according to the lore? And is he not stripped of his Well granted powers? Those answers would determine his ability to step in as Statesman, I would think. Aside from that? Yeah, I don't really see a need for Statesman to come back. -
Nice. Thanks.
