  1. @toosly: the top right pic in your first post, that is a lady yes? If so how did you achieve the buff look? I know the bodysuit helps but I can't get the shoulders to be that wide or get the six-pack to look right.
  2. The advantages you mention are balanced by the crash which already existed and high smash dmg resistance of many enemies. And yes the game should still be balanced around SOs because nobody starts at level 50. Any changes made should take the whole game into account. Also I don't think it has been mentioned that there is a lot of debuffing going on at the higher-end content. An extra -def penalty on top is excessive. If the Homecoming team believes fidelity to the devs' intentions is important then they should roll back this change. Cryptic & Paragon had many years to address this "bug" but did not even though they were overhauling multiple powersets during that time. Just because it is labeled as a bug doesn't necessarily mean it should be treated as one, since there was no reason to change the documentation so future pirate servers could operate. If Homecoming wants to keep CoX' design philosophy that every powerset and combination should be viable then they should roll back this change. If Homecoming is concerned that SS is somehow out-performing other sets then they need to do some dataming… and since I'm 99% certain their results wouldn't differ significantly from Paragon's they should roll back this change until/unless some major discrepency pops up. I hope they reconsider. I don't think this is a reasonable decision by any measure.
  3. That architect is the most subtle and fiendish villain of all. Who knows how much psychological damage residents have suffered due to those nonsensical layouts?
  4. I think you make some good points about this set's uses for tanking since these attacks must draw a lot of threat. The animation speed still gets me though. I wonder if a heavily-slotted Chilling Embrace would slow the mobs' attacks enough to bring some sort of parity in attack speed?
  5. I’ve played the set for about 12 levels and my opinions are mixed at best. Pros A high damage attack at lvl 1; A combination self Defense buff and enemy Res debuff at lvl 1; Access to a high damage knockup cone at lvl 2 (4 for Tanks); A sometimes-available superior damage knockdown and possible stun at lvl 6 (16 for Tanks) ; The coolest-looking weapons in the game. You can use a chunk of concrete on a stick, a rocket powered hammer, chainsaw on a stick, a railroad crossing sign… They’re all bad-ass. The powers work as advertised. TW offers huge burst damage: a Scrapper’s crit with a tier 1 attack will either one-shot a white mob or leave it with a sliver of health you can Brawl away. I’m guessing a Brute with high Fury could lay down glorious amounts of damage. The knock effects are strong and no other set gives you a knockdown cone that early. Plus it looks awesome. Cons Sssssllllooooooooowwww. It’s like being debuffed constantly. I shudder to think about what the set is like when actually debuffed. See what I said about Brawl above? You have time to get 3 of those in while waiting for an attack to recharge. In teams I find that my target usually dies before the wind-up is finished. Solo I can take a beating in between swings. A missed attack is heartbreaking. Momentum is tricky to manage. It’s like Fury but not. I suppose getting used to it requires time. The set has a build-up which grants Momentum on a click but I haven’t used it much yet. I don’t know what the set is like for Brutes or Tanks. It seems like a Brute might suffer a net Fury loss with the slowest attack chain in the game, but I don’t know if the extra shots enemies get during the wind-ups would make up for it. I think managing both Fury and Momentum would be quite a juggling act. For Tanks I think that waiting until 16 for that 3rd attack would be bothersome since it offers good control that might be needed in early levels. I don’t know if TW’s trade-offs are worth it in a game where speed can be so important. Slotting would surely help but would it help enough? What are your experiences?
  6. Thanks for hour replies. I'm glad to see a positive reception for tbe set. I had a character in the official game who would have been Rad/Rad if the option was available. Now I need to subdue my altitis long enough to play him….
  7. Topic. Since I wasn't playing when the set was being tested and was never released I only know what's on the wiki. It looks like a strong set to me since it keeps to the Rad tradition of heavy debuffs. Also the sort-of aoe in Contamination seems promising. What are your experiences so far?
  8. Could someone explain to me? I never attended becuase tankers weren't my thing. How does one learn tanking when everybody in the group draws threat?
  9. I'm experimenting with program called yolomouse because the game's cursor is tough for me to keep track of especially in large groups. It overrides the game's pointer with one tbat has adjustable size and colors. Maybe try that?
  10. I did change my global so thanks for the reminder.
  11. I have many probably too many to list. "I can fly!" Busting into the villains’ volcano lair to stop their evil plot. That’s what being a superhero is about! Robbing a bank with my Robotics/Dark MM and a Necro/Dark MM. Sister Psyche was the hero who showed up to stop us. She couldn’t really hurt our minions or protect herself against us. It was an epic beatdown. The sheer chaos of unleashing two Phantom Armies in Oranbega. The first time my Stalker scored a crit with an Assassin’s Strike against a Boss (maybe a Fortunata). I damn near one-shotted her. Busting into the villains’ volcano lair to stop their evil plot. That’s what being a superhero is about! Turning the Terra Volta Trial into a cakewalk by putting bubbles around the reactor. “While I’m in Atlas I’ll just… Rikti invasion wtf?! Costume contests. I’m usually impressed by (although jealous of) the creativity and humor on display. And to go with the fact that I don’t remember seeing any two characters anywhere who looked the same outside of VEATs. Footstomp screamed “super” and using it never gets old. Handing the biggest villain in the game his own helmet from the future and saying “Here’s proof of what will happen if you screw with me.” The mission where I set up explosives to destroy that #&$!!@ layer-cake cave. Stopping to play on the ice slides in Frostfire… and nobody complaining about “wasted time” because everybody else wanted to do it too. Cape Radio dance parties. Welcome back DJs! The Taxibots. If not for them I would have rage-quit the game because navigating the Hollows was so frustrating. For people to spend their free time standing around until another player needed their help... that’s what we mean when we praise the game’s community. I will buy any of them a beverage of their choice if I meet them irl.
  12. What bind are you using? I saw one online which suggested binding it to lshift + left button of the mouse but this caused the reticle to disappear. When I bound it to just the shift key the reticle reappeared and I could use the left mouse button to activate the power.
  13. First of all a massive thanks to the people who made this possible. It feels like coming home. Now the issue: I goofed and registered under an account name that the people I ran with won't recognize. Is there a way to change it or will I have to use a keybind when chatting in-game?
