I've been thinking a lot about this want/need for levels in AE. (or anywhere else that's as fast/easy)

I've seen it requested - an instant-50. Whether it's from p2w as an inf sink, or just an option that's available.

We know it's possible, as it can be done on Brainstorm. The question is - would it be good for the game?

I can't definitively answer that question, because I'm just one guy with my own perspective, and my own preferred way to play.
I've never cared how folks get to 50, as long as they're someone knowledgeable about playing their characters. I can run (barely) with the speedy folks, or I can chill out in a crawl/kill through team. All depends on my mood, I guess.

But this is what I think:
insta-50 would remove motivation for a fairly high percentage of players that are in AE for levels. I can think of 25 players off the top of my head who not only have no interest in sub-50 content, they would much prefer it if there were some way to run a positron at level 50, as well as the rest of the tfs. Not saying they should be easy - only that the mobs should scale up to 50, with all the extra hp/regen/debuffs/recharge/nifty powers/mechanics that would go with those NPCs.

So what would that mean for the game?
I think it would be less stress on the servers. It's my understanding that AE farms put a stress on the servers. No idea why, I guess it's kind of like an MSR, A lot of npcs in a small area, with a large number of powers going off at the same time.

I'm sure there would still be farmers who would keep farming for whatever their reasons. I'm also sure that an insta-50 would probably leave at least a few folks wanting to get to vet level 9 or so, to t-3 most of the incarnate powers. So, not real convinced it would be any real solution, unless the option to get some vet levels came with it.

And that leaves me with this question of where should the line be drawn? Candidly, for me, if I could give a character those 9 vet levels just by spending some inf through p2w, I'm almost positive I would, on just about every character. And I do understand, that's just me. No idea what the rest would do. And...once I did that, what next? Just make characters to instantly get them to vet level 9, try it out and then roll another alt? So, just speaking for me, I don't think it would be good to have the option. I'd likely end up getting stuck trying to come up with the next name, and leaving most characters "incomplete" without their t-4s.

I think having the option to skip a few levels in an AE farm is probably the easiest and simplest solution - at least until there's a ton of new content to do across all levels.

I should also add that I think the post 50 crowd needs content as much or more than any other level range, but that's just my two cents. We all know opinions will vary.

Having it at a high amount of inf would also negate abuse of just having the City of 50s. I would think 500 million would slow the roll  enough that people would still run content, farm, and/or play the market to aquire that inf.

But, would slow down the need for full teams of door sitters and requiring that amount for an insta 50 would mean people would play more. Or that's the hope.

The Medicine pool is just a waste of slots. I had it on my Mind/Poison Troller for a while, and when I respecced out of it, the extra set bonuses more than made up for the lost of powers that don't even work properly.

I take it sometimes on my MMs if they don't have a heal in the secondary. My bots/ff benefits from it, other than that nah no thanks. Although dropping inspirations in them would probably be just as effective.

One of my ideas is just shifting MM's pet level shift up by 1.  So tier 1 pets would be a -1, tier 2 pets would be at 0 and the tier 3 (boss pet) would actually be +1 to the player.  MM's should have the BEST pets in the game, so why shouldn't the top pet of the pet class actually be +1 and therefore better than any old controller pet.

I like the idea of a +1 to the T3 as a bodyguard should be tough but, that's seriously going overboard on power creep.

Yeah, cause that's a great way to ensure that the devs will never fix it.

    Tell me I'm wrong.

I figure it goes 29 pages of screaming forum Savages some forum pvp and finally gets thread locked they will definitely notice.😉

  5. So did any of you nerds put the Broot ATO proc in the Suggestions thread yet?

Yeah you didn't, quit playing Revenge of the Nerds, Revenge of the Nerds Part 2 Nerd Wars, and Revenge of the Nerds Part 3 They finally get laid.

While those aren't the actual titles, that's how I remember them.

So Lewis, Booger, and Ogre get to work. There's a shiny new pocket protector in it for ya!

We are aiming for Page 5 to be a lot smaller; there's only a few line items that are considered essential for release, and anything that doesn't make it in time will just get dropped. Feature creep is something that we are painfully aware that we are prone to, and are trying to avoid going forward.

That does mean that some things that were talked about "for the next page" may not be in Page 5 at all. They are being worked on, but if waiting for them to be ready risks delaying the page, we'll drop them and deal with the fallout.

Try to give some love to MMs at least.

  7. A common vein in this thread that I have noticed is that the Broot ATO procs suck. Now I'm not a numbers guy, I'd have to Google/Mids to get any point across and sure as hell don't know about the cycling rate of said procs.

So my question, why haven't I ever seen a post about changing the procs in the Suggestions section?

If it's broke, let's get it fixed, if it sucks let's collectively bitch about it till it gets fixed to a general consensus of acceptance.

So one of you nerds numbers people get to posting!

  8. Um...nobody nerfed AE, there was a bug from page 3 that was causing xp to be tripled, so it was fixed to represent the correct xp namely double.

The rest ie the mob aggro was an added feature to fix mob AI which to me is superior than have the morons not 20 feet away watching their buddies get their ass kicked and not doing anything.

If the devs wanted to nerf farming it would be a really simple thing, as it stands they left vet levels in AE after the outcry ssssoooo no nerfing there.

Besides America Angel who works for the HC team has written a guide and been very vocal in how to farm now, so if the devs wanted to nerf AE I seriously don't think part of the team would be so pro AE farming,  seriously I think some of you spent too much time playing with foam footballs.

I feel that. What do you think they could do in future, to improve the state of the game? Revert to pre-incarnates? Waste all that expensive development work, not to mention all the effort players have put into grinding the powers? ... I think we're a shark now, we can only move forwards. What that means ... I think it would be great to have a big old  discussion on THAT topic.

Well thats more of a suggestion thing, really I'd wrap up the whole incarnate thing. Make the final big bad Mot, Battalion, Rularuu, whoever and have it as the final battle.

Then concentrate on making more paths ie missions, TFs/SFs, to get there. Eventually everyone is going to hit T4 and really there's only so many times you can run the same itrials over and over.

Pretty soon you're going to get sick of it, especially having to grind them for threads to get to T4 which once again playing the same itrials. Or introduce smaller itrials that are not dependent upon a league to complete.  Really there is too many league type things floating around. Yeah they can be done but with smaller populations it's not appealing.

Alot of stuff can be done that's just top of my head.

So, was looking at the 'dress shirt' thing today and noticed it is just one simple thing.  And I thought to myself "Hawaiian style shirts would be so cool in this category"  so just thought I would leave that here as it is.

I can understand this not being a top priority for anyone, I just love the colorful shirts with flower, coconut, fish, musical patterns and all.  Thought it would be worth bringing up.

Considering I wear "Hawaiian" shirts almost everyday I'm fully support this.
