To reiterate what I've said elsewhere:

In an unofficial rebooted game with a small, devoted population -- especially within the context of PvP -- originalism (re: what Cryptic wanted to / should have done / what meets the definition of a "bug") is far less important than "does this make the game more enjoyable for those who care deeply enough about it to be fighting for it?"

No one at Cryptic is going to give us a gold star for patching up decades-old mechanics, especially when there was already some development work done on Homecoming to make a PvP-specific power (Nullifier). Trying to apply a subjective label like "bug" is less relevant than considering the arguments for / against it from a well informed and devoted playerbase. Not to mention that there's no game completely free of arguable exploits like animation and attack canceling, frictionless bunnyhopping, and the list goes on.

Nullifier root canceling also lowers the barrier to entry by allowing newer players to easily make the same use of it that veteran players do, instead of spending hours trying to practice ways to recreate the same mechanic without weapon redraw (i.e. jump canceling), which is just a waste of everyone's practice time. Not to mention, this impacts support classes the most and will have ripple effects on balancing changes later on. Suppose mez is changed in a way that allows Clear Mind / Clarity / Thaw to provide protection, such that teams no longer feel the need to soft-ban long duration mezzes. Emps already have over 2 seconds of rooting on most buffs and heals. Clarity is 1.5 seconds, and Thaw is over 2, all of which will serve to limit set diversity and discourage players from trying out an already underplayed role (support).

Thank you for your kind and considerate words @Silent Method, but unfortunately I will be forced to CHANGE your vote.

On behalf of ‘The Renegades’ we vote AGAINST animation canceling. I believe we all can agree as a group, this is an unnecessary & easily abused tool. New players have no idea how to utilize it, as I have no idea how to use it, nor any interest in using it.

You then decide to support the petition with basis that it helps support players.

well as one of the FEW support MAINS, I will also speak on behalf of ALL support players, we also vote AGAINST animation canceling- of any kind.

    Thank you.

    Thank you for volunteering @Poned.

I can’t even begin to thank you guys enough for the hard work & dedication you put into these events. Between you and @Sarrona, a magical experience is created every time you guys put your heads together.

Just a reminder there is a little less than a week to sign up for the draft, if you haven’t already done so.

Special thanks to our Zone PvP Rep @CR Mochifor the lovely SC event I heard was hosted today.

    cheers!

To clear up a few things, CR Mochi is an addition to the community rep team for PvP along side @CR Banana Man. They are not replacing anyone. Banana Man has done quite a bit of work on the community's behalf including providing the aggregated requests from the community over the past year or so (several of which were addressed in Issue 27, page 1). He has been great to work with and is a big advocate for the PvP community. Mochi came on as that feedback was being shared with the development team including Faultline and was part of those conversations.

The Smol KB team is still... well, kicking. @GM Smol is still about but we are a all volunteer team. Sometime life gets in the way. You may have noticed a decrease in PvP events in the last month or two but they are coming back (last night was an example of one). There were a few reasons for this but one of the biggest was the desire of testing of Issue 27's PvP focused changes. Having an event during that time would have taken away focus from that for  both the GM/CR team and you all as testers.

Hello @GM Conviction& thank you for the lovely feedback.

I am so glad that we have a new community rep, @CR Mochi, as it began to feel overwhelming hosting EVERY PvP event alongside the #PvPwaP committee, whilst being a member of not ONE, but TWO of the FEW competitive PvP teams.

Wow!! I had no idea that the GM team was composed of all volunteers, what an altruistic bunch you all are. I would just like to thank you guys for the hard work and dedication you put forth into making this game such a huge success.

I can’t wait to see what CR_Mochi has in store for us, as well as GM_Smol upon her return.

    To the PvP community,

thank you all for your patience as this whole situation has been rectified. Please be on the lookout for not only PvPwaP events now, but GM hosted events as well. See you all soon. Best wishes. -hot

  4. Hello,

I noticed previously the original post mentioned “working alongside the smol kb team to host events”, but after an edit that seems to have been removed.

So that begs the question, what happened to GM_smol?

does the “smol kb team” still exist & do you plan on working with them?

Lastly, do you have discord? Would love to chat.

hello everyone, it’s been awhile since I’ve updated this list, but at the viewers request here i go.

it’s always incredibly hard for me to rank you guys, especially since most of you are far better than i am at this role. I should be asking for your opinions, but alas the people want what they want, my expertise. okay, let me stop beating around the bush.

    1. Mr Liberty, an all around great player. Lib is a jack of all trades, but a professional in offense. His target calling, quick locks & evasion make him a first pick in my book.

    2. Dexington, another great player. While we may not currently see eye to eye, unfortunately I could never take away from his talent. Solid first round pick.

    3. Justin, one of the best players in the game, despite being a troll, substance abuse issues aside, he’s really a great player. Definitely a first round pick.

    4. Silent Method, currently out on hiatus. Still deserves a Top spot, as he’s one of the BEST EVADERS in the GAME. A solid lock, statistical anomaly. While certain things he says may seem questionable (asking for CM) he is truly a great player.

    5. Mallex, just returned from reading books & watching documentaries, he has broken RECORDS being the best poison in the game. We love us some mallex, he’s always taken evasion into his own hands, while remaining reliably on target. A great pick on any given day.

    6. z, a silent killer. A zone champion. A definite lock, expert evader & social issues advocate. One of the best players still in the game.

    7. Siph, a top tier player. I wish i could just clone a whole bunch of siphs. Love that little guy, offense & evasion is always on point.

    8. March, an offense god. He’s been consistently good for decades & that’s not changing. Quick & efficient, a great pick.

    9. Spec, a glass cannon. We love us some spec, he’s always been solid offensively and has come such a long way defensively. Keep up the great work.

    10. barrier, one of the best callers in the GAME. While his patience may run low & he can’t wait to rage half the time, he’s a great offense. Just get him a jaunt bind, a few good emps & quick locks.

  7. Wow! This thread was a great read, but some of the listed “originators” are a bit inaccurate.

Thank you @Poned & #TheRenegades for being the start of most of the trends we see today.

Things such as Gravity, Empathy, etc were never really thing until poned showed us all how to play them.

it’s no secret Silent Method invented Nature gathers as we know it.

The entire renegades started using fire blast first, blasters & corrs.

great, great job to us. 🥳

Surprised warburg has so little votes since that was the biggest turnout we had during the zone takeovers.

    There were no other events.

I know most people like arena for events.

as soon as @Sarronaposts #PvPwaP’s next event details I know everyone will ne intrigued. There will be over 8 BILLION in hard earned player rewards.

    stay tuned. 🥳

and that attitude is why most people dont pvp and it is practically dead.

    it was just a question.

I was thinking the same until i read the second part of their response. That was an even more legitimate question. It makes far more sense to experience something yourself, than question something you know absolutely nothing about. next caller 🗣
