Keep in mind, the numbers I quoted him are for Radiation Therapy, which has a 60s base cooldown. Dark Regen has a 30s base cooldown. So where as Radiation Therapy had some room for recharge before it hurt proc chances, Dark Regen doesn't have that luxury. Any added recharge in Dark Regen will hurt its Proc chances (for 3.5 PPM, at least)

    Well crud.

You are allowed up to 22.1676% recharge in the power to retain the 90% chance to proc.

Oh! Now that's good to know. I was weighing the benefits/costs of trying to get some set bonuses in my frankenslotting for DR. The only thing holding me back was that it has 18% recharge enhancement.

Don't have to worry about it now. 😄

Nope, make it a proc bomb. If you want more reliability, you can also use Panacea. In health, on average, it procs once per 20s. You can probably do better than that with dark regem if you have enough global recharge. I did something like that with my Bio Scrapper, should work here too.

Currently the build has 58.75% global recharge. Hoping that's enough.

    Edit:

With no recharge slotted and no alpha that does +recharge, you get the following chance to proc on each target (independently).

    Prob = 3.5*(30+1.17)/60/(1+.75*.15*20)=55.95%

So if you have 9 targets you hit with DR, on average you'll get 5 procs of ToE (50% of max endurance)

Thank you! Definitely going to avoid putting recharge in there then.

Hmm, dark regen is too strong I think....

Buff the amount you heal from the 1st target, but then gut the amount you get per additional target. Lower the endurance cost as well. You can heal to pretty much full off of 2 people right now making the target cap for it kind of pointless as you'll never need to actually leech off it's full capacity.

Changing that up a bit, we should have room to buff other parts of the set while keeping its lvl relatively the same.

I was having a hard time finding the words to express this, but you've captured it. DR is punished for its overkill. What's more, in drawn out AV or boss fights, its endurance cost will prevent you from surviving the fight. Considering the prevalence of Energy damage bosses and AVs can have, DA's mitigation won't be enough for single target DR heals to do the job needed. Especially if you don't have the endurance for it during a prolonged battle.

This kind of balance adjustment would be a great answer.

To hazard a guess- The chance to trigger is calculated once.  If it triggers you get the +end from each target in range.  Again, @Bopper and the other Proc Experts should have a more precise explanation.

Ah! I see now. Thanks for the clarification.

From what I recall, PPMs are calculated by recharge time of the power with any enhancements to recharge slotted being part of that calculation. However, global recharge is not. Would anyone know the probability of ToE firing on any given activation so long as no recharge is enchanced? With a 3.5 PPM and a 30 recharge base, I would think it would fire pretty much nearly all the time.

...I would assume it works the same as all other AoEs in that you have a chance for it to proc per enemy hit, but it can only proc once per power activation.

Putting it in Dark Regen was a very good idea for DA users.  Can't  say I knew the exact mechanics but it definitely and significantly solved DA's endurance issues.

Hmm, maybe I'm just not understanding correctly, but I feel like these are two conflicting statements. If it can only proc once per activation, then ToE wouldn't even overcome Dark Regens endurance cost, let alone ease DA's end issues. What am I not getting?

  8. How do +Endurance procs work in DR for Dark Armor? Is the chance per activation, or per target hit? And would it be beneficial to slot the Panacea and Theft of Essence procs both?

Wow. Almost a year later and you're still at work? 😉

    Oy. Woops.

So I did some digging and can't find anything. I could have been completely wrong. 😞

  10. Couldn't find any comments relating to this in the past couple of pages...

I'm getting this message when I try to run from a fresh install:

    Message: Parameter is not valid.

    Trace: at System.Drawing.Bitmap..ctor(Sting filename)

    Any idea what's gone wrong?

These are so awesome, thank you Rylas! I don't know anything about graphics and art, but I tried to set the Sentinel Icon as my laptop background but it's super fuzzy. I know this post says they're high-rez, is there a way to blow this up and keep the sharp look?

Hi-res is going to be a relative term here. For  use as an icon (usually something meant to be smaller), or an avatar, these would be considered hi-res since those things are meant to be about 100x100 pixels, and at that size, these were made to be clear and visible. What's in game and currently exists seems to be built for 32x32.

Something like a background image would need to be anywhere from 1080 to 4K resolution. Making power icons that large would have taken up a lot of space. Fortunately for you, the AT icons we made in vector art, so it's quite easy to scale up. I'll send you a Sentinel icon at 1080. 🙂

  12. I'm for bringing back a Statesman, but not the Statesman. He got his powers from the Well, so why not let the Well bestow those powers on someone new. You could even have a story arc you play out (not as your own character, but as the soon-to-be new Statesman). And as someone mentioned earlier, it could play into the creation of the next Incarnate abilities (should we ever get that far).

I like the idea of an iconic hero that's the exemplifies the spirit of the game. He/She doesn't have to be in all the content. They just need to be a mascot.
