I hate to revive an old thread, but I have come here to warn people, DO NOT take and use this build. That is because it is too powerful, and it makes a very casual (mediocre) player like me look like a badass, so I'd appreciate it if nobody else caught on. Over the weekend, I ran 4 different TF/SFs, all exemped down to where Ball Lightning wasn't even available and I: 1) Stealthed ahead and soloed the last room multiple times, before the rest of the team could even get through half of the map 2) Was the only survivor on a team wipe (and continued to chew through enemies with my teammates' bodies at my feet) 3) Pretty much soloed the entire last mission on Silver Mantis. This is with only a couple of the purple IOs and no Winters. I shudder to think how strong it will be once I get those. Thanks, Bopper, for introducing me to my new main!

Seeking advice on Fire Blaster end game attack chain
queequeg77 replied to jeesty2's topic in Blaster
I agree with Boogaloo and Nuke Leah. My fire/ice blaster has not-quite permanent Hasten. As it is, I can alternate Blaze and Blazing Bolt, mixing in Fireball and occasionally Flares as a filler. Single target damage with that rotation is excellent. Depending on your secondary and playstyle, you could replace Fireball and/or Flares with blap powers for even more damage, but I've never felt the need. -
I got the pyre epic on my claws brute, and it just felt really out of place, concept-wise. Slash somebody, put away your claws and throw fire, pop claws back out and slash again. And Nemu... blame my Fire/Ice blaster for this whole thing. She's my favorite character and totally spoiled me for pretty much everything else. Sentinels have crap damage, Scrappers have to chase. My rad/dark tank is only mid-30's and can live in the middle of a pack.... but killing that pack is so s l o w. Maybe I'll try out this concept with a stalker instead? I think I'll just have to make a few different options and see what I like best. If only it didn't take so long to get to those epics, without farming.

Yeah, what Omega-202 said, it's more of a concept thing and Lightning Rod is a big selling point. I already have a 50 claws brute, and I have never been able to get pass the ugliness of spines. Good call on Kinetic melee, Nemu and Safehouse. I'll play around with a build for that. Thanks for the great advice, everybody!

I got frustrated with my sentinel's low damage and got tired of chasing things around with my Street Justice/WP scrapper, and I started messing around with this idea... Would this be a viable hybrid way to play? Electric/Energy Aura/Mu, 7 attacks total, 3 melee, 3 ranged, plus lightning rod. I know it would be late game before shaping up, and it would be a mess exemping. Defense looks strong, based on mids numbers. My 50 fire/ice is my favorite character, and I always hated blasters back in the old days so I never leveled one. I love this one so much, I tried a bunch of other blasters and none match up. Fire's damage is just insane. At decent recharge levels, Blaze + Blazing Bolt + Flares gives great single target damage, no blapping needed. Of course, Fireball & Inferno are great aoes, I personally love Rain of Fire and never use Firebreath, but that one is a personal choice. /ice comes down to Frigid Protection, which is my favorite of the sustains. Built-in slow and a taunt too, so solo you can herd for Inferno-ing if you want to. Shiver is also a great power, crushes speed and recharge in all non-EB/AV enemies. I have Freezing Touch, only use it if somebody gets in my face. Other people swear by Ice Patch, but I find it to animate too slowly and has too small an area of effect. I did Cold Mastery to complete the theme, for Frozen Armor and Hoarfrost. Not really needed for teaming, but a life saver when you want to solo.

That build looks insanely tough, Croax. Did you consider working in gloom/zapp to boost damage? or did that interfere with the DB flow?

Hey all, After getting a sentinel, brute, and blaster to 50... I'm keen to try a stalker. I want to love the AT, but have never gotten past the mid 20's, even on live. Mostly because I've never had a concept I liked. But now I settled on a natural, classic Dungeons & Dragons style thief. That means weapon primary and no-aura secondary. Please help me choose: Primary: Dual Blades, Ninja Blade, Staff (broadsword animations don't fit for me.) Secondary: Inv, Ninjitsu, SR, Willpower I DFB'd some combo of each to 10ish so far, and the only thing I can really tell is that I didn't like broadsword. Anybody have good (or bad) experiences with a combo of the above? I've got concept, name and costume all ready to go... Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the feedback, good info. I really don't have end issues at all, but then again I only have tough for the +def slots and snow storm to get to frozen armor and hoarfrost. On the topic of snow storm vs. shiver... is snow storm a better use of those slots because it's a toggle so it's set it and forget it? According to in game numbers, shiver gives better -rech numbers. Overall on the /ice side, I feel like I hardly use it at all. I love Frigid Protection, especially because it gives a little taunt which is fun to herd up groups for a big inferno. Chillblain is a waste because its dot is so slow and I so rarely use freezing touch that I sometimes forget I have it. I love this character and am currently plowing through DA arcs with her, but I'm wondering if I'd be better off remaking with fire/ plus a secondary that I'd actually use....

Heya, After being a devoted scrapper/brute player on live, this was my first ever real blaster, and I'm now sold on the blaster life. So... as I just hit 50, I need some help fine-tuning. I'm not looking to farm or solo AV's, not looking to drop billions of influence, just want to get the most I can out of the build within reason. This is a full-time flyer; with fire's insane damage I have felt no need for the blaps... but you could convince me otherwise. Same on the epic choice of cold, and concealment pool. I'm open to suggestions. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance! I have a theme/concept that I like and it could go either way, dark melee/electric armor or flipped. Aside from obvious differences (self-heal and -acc in DM, tons of AOE in Elec Melee), is there any synergy going one way or the other? And... I suppose I have the option of doing dark/dark/mu or elec/elec/soul to fit the theme. Anybody have any experience with any of these combos? Man, I hate altitis...

Just got my first 50 in a decade or two, a BR/Inv sentinel. I've tried all the other AT's and keep coming back to sentinel. So for my next one, I have a concept for water blast, and either bio or elec would work as secondary. Any thoughts on which synergizes better? Any pitfalls to look out for? Based on research, it seems both have good healing/end management. /bio has nice offensive boost, but is more click-heavy, more slot-heavy, more power pick-heavy. /elec would give more flexibility and a recharge boost. Anything else I'm missing? Thanks for your help!
