Have played a "lot" of alts (92 on the Excelsior server (95% over 35), but never a "Dom". After taking the alpha on every character I have played (got tired of players standing there waiting for someone else to make the first attack) so I just go in (die sometimes, most times not). So the dominator not having any defense didn't bother me. Since Issue 4 just came out I figured it was the perfect time to finally make a dominator and use the new powersets, "Symphony and Sonic Assault." Just started doing the newbie arcs to test everything out. Now even though I am young, I figure that the low level NPC's are weak as well. But I'm seeing that the controller powers aren't doing much (once in a great while the foe might go to sleep). I'm thinking, "This is a controller?" All that the symphony powers were doing was making a loud noise and doing a tiny amount of damage. The only time my control powers would work for certain was when I press the Dom button, but that didn't last very long (a few seconds at best). At level 8 I just gave up (it was late and I wanted to turn in anyway). To me, this is the weakest AT in the game. Sure it would get more powerful later on, but then so would the bad guys.

They never actually play the game. They spend a long time getting the right costume. Then come online and spam that they want to be a sitter on an AE farm. When they get on one they will stay on one or more farms until 50 and then create a new character and do it again. If I was a farmer I wouldn't want these type of sitters on the team. That would be a waste of my time. The problem is, you don't know it it is a "player" or a dedicated sitter.

I have 85 alts over 35 on Excelsior and have gone through The Laura Lockhart arc almost every time. We always do it at 2/8 difficulty with a few exceptions. Sometimes the team had a few vets on it and we go at +3 or 4. The first mission is a pretty tough one as there are a ton of Council concussion grenades going off all around you. The actual difficulty depends on the team. Most teams are made up with experienced players that sail through every mission that comes along. While other teams are made up with low DPS types with little to no defense (controllers and defenders as an example). They can't handle the mission and blame the difficulty. That's it set too high. It's not too high (the team is too low). When the team is wiped a few times in a row, most players will quit and seek easier ways to gain XP. Sometimes we get a real team of experienced players that are not quitters. They enjoy the challenge (like me) and figure out how to complete it (strategy) even if it takes hours. When we are done, the reward is much greater and long remembered. Spoiler: An easier way to get through almost any mission is to buy a few lucks from the hospital nurse and eat them all right before the battle.

Thanks for the reply and explanation. This sure it confusing. Would be nice to see sample builds that show which direction they had gone. I’ll take it step by step. Started an arc team yesterday and when I got to 24 and saw the respec and all the choices, I knew I wouldn’t have time (with 7 players waiting). So I just didn’t train for the next ten levels. It was still fun, but I knew there had to be more to this.

Okay I made level 24 and it says I have to respec. Went for crab, but do I re-train all of the soldier attacks and defenses I had before of just stay with the crab powers?

Yes, I understand editing. But letting others you did is pointless. If its an update, I'll say "Update:"

1. I usually take care of the enhancements right after Frostfire. I tell the team that can train and slot during this ingame break. 2 & 3. Some teams are very quiet. Others are talkative and even full of jokesters. We usually start FF in +3 so we're not "arresting" grays in the end. Sometimes we have an abundant of defender shields and heals and set at +4. Yes, some missions go pretty badly. Team wipes over and over again. This reason is usually the combination of AT's. Like a lot of controllers that do little damage and can't hold a purple yet. Those are the times it takes an hour (more if players keep quitting). But when a few vets join the team, it runs through very smooth and fast. I'm a retired tractor trailer driver of 45 years all over North America. I know all about being stationary for long periods of time (10 hours per day in the driver's seat). 4. At the start of FF I always explain about why the difficulty is set high, how to kill the imps quickly (kill lead scorcher) and that we will be going straight to Steel arcs with a ten minute break right after Frostfire. Few take me up on that. Most ignore it. Don't know how to be any more polite. Luckily there are always many more players that want to do the future arcs.

Its like at a wedding reception and the cake is cut, everyone goes home after that. As soon as Frostfire is over, I call Flux and end the arc and immediately teleport to Lockhart in Steel Canyon and get the first mission. Yet I'll lose 6 to 7 of the team members. Every time! Sure everyone likes to level as long as they get several hour long breaks after one to three arc missions. Why is that? I'll go from level 9 to 39 in a day doing arcs. Yesterday I lead the team through a few of the smaller arcs and even all the way through the five hour Provost Marchland arc (have done it three times in one day with three characters). Only a handful of great players have the endurance to keep up. Sure it's a grind, but no more than grinding fire farms.

I clicked all over that screen and nothing is coming back. Its like I just turned 50 (instead of a vet level 3). Do you think I should submit a ticket on it?

I got over 1500 hours playing mm's. Was playing the Lockhart arc in Steel @ 2/8 on a team. The thugs died within 6 seconds after summoning them and kept on dieing just as fast. My other thugs mm is combined with thermal which made the thugs tougher (that mm is currently 32). Heck, I thought "Ninjas" were squishy (have a 32 Ninjas/Thermal too). The Ninja mm had to re-summon them countless times even with thermal, but not nearly as bad as this thug/elec build.

You click on Powers, then Incarnate Abilities. The first page shows up that says stuff like: Hybrid, Lore, Destiny -- that is all empty

Logged to a veteran that I hadn't played in a while. The first page was full when I logged last time. Now empty. What happened?

My EA/EB is 44 and have used it doing "arcs" (pun intended). I trained Defib and used it to rez a few souls, but I mostly died. This is a melee attack and I'm a defender. It should have been a ranged attack. Currently doing a respec and this will be coming off. Its kind of interesting being a defender and having two pets. I usually train the leaping pool to get acrobatics, but with the Faraday Cage, it isn't needed. Thought it was pretty cool naming the Cage after the father of electricity. He found that by rotating magnets around a copper coil, electricity is produced. This is how a power plant creates it. Btw: I was an Electrician's Mate for 6.5 years in the US Navy and an industrial electrician outside.

Thanks for getting back to me over the holidays. Sorry I didn't reply sooner, but I've been busy with friends and family as well. My fire resistance is capped at 90% of course, but don't have any defense at all. Not sure if I need it. I guess everyone has a different opinion. Some say that Agility is better because of the +20% defense and others say damage is better. Then you say to stay away from Tiers one, two and three. To tell you the truth I have no idea what you're talking about 🙂

My Spines/Fire Farming Vet Brute just started his Incarnates and maxed out everything on the equip page. Now I'm looking to raise Agility, but there many choices. One way is recharge and the other defense which I believe would be the correct choice for me, but as you go up each power has two to three recipes. What's the difference or best way to go? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not switching. I'm merely adding a second account. This is not the first time this has been done -
