  1. Forgive me for not reading through all 24 pages to see if this has been brought up or not ... If this whole thing ends up really happening, what will happen to the smaller independant servers that are not involved in these talks?
  2. Also, don't forget that you'll still get emp merits every three levels up until .... level 100 I think? And emp merits can be turned into reward merits at a rate of 20 reward merits for each emp merit.
  3. The League of Superheroes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHO WE ARE: The League of Superheroes is a small SG looking to open up our doors to the public. We started out as a SG for a few close friends to get together and enjoy the revival of CoH/V. Due to interest from several people, we are opening up the SG to public recruitment. We play almost every night, and our activities include raids, task forces, radio missions, contact missions, etc. I lead Rikti Raids several nights every week, and you can often find me advertising with Marijuanaut or Xuku. We also enjoy doing Incarnate content. I lead BAF trials at the moment, but I'm also looking to expand into other Incarnate Trials. We are a group of low-key, laid-back people. Our SG has a fully functional base, including teleporters, storage, med bays, inspiration vendors, level up npcs, facemaker npcs, and vendor npcs. We have a Team Speak server that we get on regularly and will be open to members, but not required to get on. It is merely an option should you like to use voice comms. RP/RP FRIENDLY: We are not an RP supergroup. We don't discourage RP, but, generally speaking, we are not RP-centric people. REDSIDE/BLUESIDE: We are a BLUESIDE supergroup. Heroes only! Sorry villains! =( WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR: YOU! We're looking for anyone who would like to join! All levels are welcome! We're looking for casual players, not-so-casual players, raid and task force leaders, and people who are generally laid-back and want to have a good time. Contact Information: If you are interested in joining The League of Superheroes please contact myself or my friend in game. You can send either one of us an in-game email, or hit us up with a /tell if you see us on! My global handle is @dude and my friends is @gusthemole.
  4. Arcstone - My SG, The League of Superheroes is opening up to the public. We're small right now, just myself and a few friends, but we've recently had interest in our SG by several people. I lead Rikti Raids often throughout the week, and you can usually see me advertising with Marijaunaut or Xuku. We like to do raids, task forces, radio missions, regular contact missions, etc .. We're all laid back and very casual about everything. Send myself or my friend an in-game email if you'd like to check us out! my global ---> @dude my friends global ---> @gusthemole
  5. Actually, done right, with a nearly full league, and ship raids are one of the more lucrative passtimes in the game. 45 minutes (roughly) 1-2 levels worth of XP. 800-1600 Vanguard Merits As for "control freaks". Normally my main thing isn't really people who leapfrog pylons. Just, if someone is going to clear pylons BEFORE the actual event? NOTIFY the raid leader so they can just SKIP them. It's annoying to run out to a pylon site and find it empty. Also, people hopping into the bowl to drag U'kon. I normally ask people NOT to do this. I prefer just zerging the bowl as, post-Incarnates, we have people who are MORE than tough enough jump into that and take no damage, and they can grab aggro in the initial seconds. And it gives EVERYONE a chance to get into the bowl and take their whack at U'kon to get the Reward Merits. It also gives people killed during the bomb phase a chance to hosp or rezz and get buffed super-shiny by the pre-zerg crowd. My preference is to have the tanks/brutes/scrappers drag enemies all the way down into the "green monster" heal-cloud in the bowl. 1: If tanks are too far from their teammates, they do not get credit for team kills of Rikti and their teammates don't get credit for their kills. 2: Dragging them down into the bowl gets them killed off faster, rather than dueling with one group of 10 for the entire 45 minutes. This way the raid is more lucrative for EVERYONE. And the final thing is pets. Purely for practical reason. The game has a maximum number of entities that it'll render into a secene. Beyond that, other enemies simply aren't shown. Mastermind and other pets (including Incarnates) count against this. Too many MM players or everyone sporting pets simultaneously means we can't see EACH OTHER, let alone all the pets! If you can't target, you have to hope tabbing through to acquire an enemy will work. And not being able to see anything is kinda a buzzkill. On a full league, I generally ask that pets be limited to MM standard powers pets. On a non-full league, I try to condense into as few teams as possible. And then I'll let people know they can start popping pets if they want. This is a great post, Hyperstrike. I also do the zerg style rush to the middle. I also call for lots of heals just to make sure they're poppin'. In my opinion, MSR raids are one of the best ways to level up in the game. I've also met quite a few cool people in game just by doing raids. If you get to going with some regularity, you'll notice a lot of the same people showing up over and over. There's some amusing banter that goes on, and I just find it a generally fun time. Now, it must be noted, that this is a very different way of playing the game compared to doing radio missions or even task forces. I can understand how people would find it boring and/or graphically annoying enough to not do MSRs. As a side note, I wasn't aware of the pet thing. Very interesting!
  6. The reason I go from 20 to 4 is not for the sake of doing a "low hanging fruit" joke. Hey, good to know! Wasn't meaning to criticise - I always found it amusing and assumed it was intentional. You run a great raid and you know I'm always game to tag along. I apologize for sounding snappy. I must admit that I was a -little- miffed at the implication, but it's all good. I'm not the grudge type of person. =) Hope to see you in some more raids!
  7. The reason I go from 20 to 4 is not for the sake of doing a "low hanging fruit" joke. All of the MSR raids I had done up until I lead my first one had the pylon order of 8 ->20->4->7->5. So that's the order that I adopted when I started doing them. Changing the order is bad news for my raids. The best way for things to go smoothly is repetition. Repetition is key. You have to do things exactly the same all the time, or stuff gets screwed up. There was one time I tried doing something differently and it ended disastrously. The joke may be low hanging fruit, but I'm a pretty light-hearted person, I like to have a fun time, and the "joke" has become a part of my raid, just like the other parts of my raid. From the initial "RIKTI SCUM" broadcast, to the "DON'T TOUCH SHIELDS! NO TOUCHA!", to the "4 AFTER 20" broadcasts are all part of doing things exactly the same. If you want to do 7 before 4, there is nothing wrong with that. There's nothing wrong with going from 4 to 7 either. There IS a problem with bad organizers not communicating. Small variances in pylon order is not a big deal unless the organizer is terrible and doesn't call out pylon order.
  8. You can type /ah and access the auction house from anywhere but a base or a mission. Mind. Blown.
  9. Home server Virtue here. @Singulus Co-leader of The League of Superheroes. Damn it feels good to be back.
