Resurrected mobs give full XP rewards. Freakshow that resurrect grant full XP for the second defeat, and so do the nuCouncil.

Unless HC has changed the coding, the side you can be undercover for is locked in the tutorial. Only if you spoke with Calvin/Marchand in the tutorial can you call them to get the "undercover" options in a mission, regardless of your current "public" alignment.

Getting killed by the Apocalypse Beam inside the forcefield
Eiko-chan replied to TimesSeven's topic in Bug Reports
This is the final mission in Who Will Die? The last arc is given by Infernia in RWZ. -
Obviously I'm not taking down any Fake Nemeses through their Personal Force Fields, but I regularly take down Longbow Wardens, Paragon Protectors, and others that pop T9s like MoG and Unstoppable. It's totally possible to get through their defences. It's a great time to pop a few inspirations or throw a couple usually superfluous debuffs on them.

Port Characters from the Original Game?
Eiko-chan replied to CalvinistDadfly's topic in General Discussion
My Bots/Traps MM is still basically the same exact build she had on live and she still solos AVs at x8. (She probably could do +4, but I don't like playing at +4. It feels too much like making enemies just hit point sponges.) -
While the only character I currently use the Medicine pool on is tech-based, I would very much also like to see alternate animations for Medicine that don't involve gadgets.

Try Provost Marchand's New Praetorians story arc.

Shards were actually the bone thrown to solo players. On live, shards would drop from any level 50+ content; threads came only from iTrials. The shards allowed people to gain incarnate power without doing the iTrials that were the originally-designed path for Incarnate advancement. The drop rate on Shards was abysmal, and I have no idea what the developers intended for the higher-tier abilities, but I was among a cadre of others that fought long and hard to have shards added to the game. HC doesn't need them, though. Threads for everyone.

I believe the current implementation is that opportunity has a recharge rate over time like endurance, and it is depleted by using Vulnerability. But I agree that some of this info should probably be in game.

Mechanically, Fighting could be skill. It could also be super strength. I'm asking what mechanical difference from Fighting you envision this Super Strength pool having. Otherwise, you can just take Fighting and flavour it as being super strength.

You are reading this wrong. I quite enjoy playing at x8. I do not enjoy the Council wiping out my pets with a barrage of AoEs in every spawn. This isn't about x8 difficulty. This is about the Council specifically. It may not be easy to notice in spawns that are largely Darkwolves and Vampyri, though. It appears to be related to the Vortex and Galaxy updates.

Boxing stuns people. Kick knocks people down. Crosspunch knocks people down. How is that just skill and not superhuman strength? What would superhuman strength do differently?

This has not been true since January 1st, when Homecoming got an official license for the game. They are not "just a private server". And telling people to go play on a different, non-licensed server is not a solution.

That does not negate the story being told.

In Number Six's arc, the PC single-handedly saves Praetoria and beats back the forces of their insanely-powerful Hamidon. In the New Praetorians arc, the PC assaults Striga Island and takes down the entire Council. Again possibly single-handedly. I was one of the main proponents for solo play on the live servers, and a bunch of us fought like hell to get them to include solo paths for Incarnates. Dark Astoria was coming out when the shut down happened, and that has the PC single-handedly slay a god that was on the very cusp of eating the entire world. There is absolutely no sane way to argue that the PCs of City of Heroes/Villains are not peers of the Freedom Phalanx and that their power levels are not world-shaking. The stories in the game do not support that idea.

Paragon Studios literally killed off Statesman and then had the player take down the person that did it. Optionally without any assistance.

But he is nigh indestructible.

How does the Fighting pool not already represent this?

I "got through it" because this character has Rise of the Phoenix. And I took a couple extra hospital trips on top of that. Because the Council alpha strikes kept wiping my pets entirely, while stunlocking me that I couldn't Break Free from because I was also knocked back over the KB protection I've slotted from IOs. Even if we accept that it's okay for The Council* to be this annoying, the fact remains that they are not "on par" with other enemy groups. No other group has the ability to throw out this much control, damage, or knockback. (*Note: I do not accept this premise. The Council are punching bags and it's okay that they are punching bags. That's why they reward less XP/Inf than other groups.)

The only grudge I hold against Jack Emmert is that I think he makes games that aren't fun. Just like my only grudge against JJ Abrams is that I think he makes movies that aren't good.

There are non-nefarious reasons to desire privacy. Introversion is one. Also, trans people, especially early in their transition, often don't really enjoy stepping out from behind their digital avatars. People of all sorts of minorities desire anonymity to spare them from harassment and assault. Don't fall into the trap of "you only want privacy if you have something to hide". It's not true, and it's a deeply harmful and destructive meme.

The issue is that I can solo content designed for 8 players, but one particular enemy group - the fascists with punchable faces that exist in the game, referenced in the game, to have their faces punched - causes a hassle greater than the others. They are not "on par" with the other enemy groups. They were redesigned to account for Incarnate power and then pushed into content for players that do not have Incarnate abilities. I would have just as much issue if the Tsoo rehash from Dark Astoria suddenly started showing up on Talos Island.
