I'm a solo girl these days. 😉

I do kind of wish bodies went back to decaying faster like they did on live, because even when I can find my mouse I often find myself clicking on a corpse instead of a living target nearby. Old person problems, I guess.

Infiltration... what the absolute frack is it?
Eiko-chan replied to Snarky's topic in General Discussion
Infiltration is an alternative travel power. Its run and jump times are slightly better than Athletic/Ninja Run, and it has the stealth component. -
Because I did it, went "okay, that was way more work than I want to be doing", and stopped?
-
I should have said that can solo at +4/x8. I could do it. I choose not to.
-
So, to slightly steer this topic elsewhere: Air Superiority does more damage than Boxing or Kick do, even with full synergy. This should not be so. The Fighting attacks should be doing at least as much damage as an attack from a Travel pool, and they should be doing significantly more damage after you compile all those synergy bonuses.

Same animation.

The Paragon devs did try to do something about this with some of the newer arcs, like Dean MacArthur in Sharkhead and Mr. G in Saint Martial.

There are several textures/patterns that are options only for the "Smooth" boots, not for other boots. I'd really like to see those ported over, particularly the "Bodysuit" options ported over to the Stiletto and Flat boot options as well.

It was the New Praetorians arc from Provost Marchand in the mid-high 30s. I did everything up to and including this at +0x8, except for the "fight the Archvillains" missions where you have to protect Pendragon and Riptide, which I turned down to x1 to make sure I could get the badges.

I never play at +4. Higher level enemies just aren't worth the extra effort. I sometimes push up the level adjustment after I get my Rare Alpha and sometimes push it a bit higher in DA when I get the other Incarnate shifts, but that's not really playing at "+4". But let me restate, very, very, very, very clearly: This is not about difficulty settings. If it was about difficulty settings, I wouldn't be singling out a single enemy group. At the same level, with the same settings, this character did just fine against UPA, IDF, and Arachnos. I didn't have huge issues with the Circle, though I'm not sure at what level their revamp really comes into play. It think the problem may mostly boil down to the fact that the Council changes come into play too early in level. They were tuned against 50s and Incarnates, and they should be facing 50s and Incarnates.

You said yourself he hit you twice, not once. He didn't take you down in one shot - as I said, the game has code to prevent that. What he did was hit you once and stun you (since you don't have mez protection), and then he hit you again before you broke out of the stun. He did not take you out in one shot. He took you out in two. There was time for you or the team to do something about it. But sometimes in this game, you get defeated. There are also powers to do something about that.

You can always check the Detailed Info of the power and see how much damage it does directly. Those descriptions are largely a relic of the days before Real Numbers.

Neat. Me too.

Posts go down da hoooooooole.

No group managed to immediately kill all my pets while I was in bodyguard mode as reliably as the Council did. In my recollection, they are also the only enemy group to make extensive use of long-duration Immobilises. Also, you can't Break Free from Knockdown, and the inspiration tray isn't big enough for me to reliably carry enough Break Frees for all my pets anyway. While the knockdown soft-lock on MMs and their pets is a known issue, I note that Banished Pantheon throwing down ice patches kept my pets on their backs, but did not also murder them faster than my healing and regeneration (/Pain MM) could keep at least the big ones alive.

No, I do not. I turn up difficulty on Nemesis at 40 because I want more Fakes to spawn since I am generally Accolade-hunting.
-
It's a matter of comparing like to like. If there is only one enemy group that I need to turn down difficulty settings for, the problem is that the enemy group has been tuned too high. Or its high tunes come into play too soon in level spreads, which is why my proposal is that nuCouncil should be like nuTsoo and only appear in 50+ content. | (This argument could also be made for nuCircle, and maybe nuCrey though I honestly haven't noticed nearly as much change with those groups as I have the Council.)

Favorite Flavor of Defender Teamate

Oh dear, I'm fairly certain I was the oldest person in my VG back on live too. This isn't a matter of age. 😉 -

There's probably a lot of "did I remember to do that on this character?" involved here. -

The one that I am friends with. But all of my friends are old now and outgrew this game. -
There is code that keeps players from being one-shotted. If you are at full health, you will be left at 1 no matter how much damage you take, barring certain "scripted death" effects. The attack he hit you with was Total Focus, which is one of (if not THE) single highest-damage attacks in the game. Even Tankers usually feel the pain of a Total Focus hit. Defence is only a chance to not be hit; even capped, you will always have a 5% chance of being hit. And the AV design is such that they do, in fact, smash right through the "squishy" classes, like Defenders. Without a tank - which could be a Tanker, a Brute, an Arachnos Soldier or Widow, or Kheldian - or a very-well built Scrapper and maybe even Stalker or Mastermind - you're not really supposed to be able to "do something" about getting hit by a Archvillain. But that was like... half the ATs in the game I listed. So there's a lot of options available to players. ETA: Heck, with the right combo of Defenders, you could do it with Defenders too. Enough Defenders can buff people into Tanker levels of toughness regardless of AT. You still would have been reeling from the Total Focus, though. That's a beast of an attack.

Money making in CoV/H (and how I dont do any of it)
Eiko-chan replied to Snarky's topic in General Discussion
I'm seeing a lot more than fangs, and I didn't even have to pay! -
@RudraIt's been a while since I failed that mission to see what happens, and the Wiki doesn't have the info, but I believe I remember that the Nictus dies if not extracted in time, not that it takes over. Or, perhaps, the Circle and Crey were not tuned as highly as the Council were. But yes, I do maintain that the punchable fascists who are explicitly called out in game as being eminently punchable (see Marchand's New Praetorian arc) should remain eminently punchable because punching fascists is fun for the whole family. And villains too. 😁
