  1. thanks for the replies guys, very cool stuff. I will check out the Dark miasma guide, i'm new to MMs so this is all new stuff for me. I've only played like basic scrapper/willpower builds or just blaster damage types. I have a illusion/martial dom which I enjoy alot and it got me interested in wanting to give mastermind a try. Very cool stuff. Do you guys have any builds for ninjas/cold anywhere/or know where i can find one? I'm willing to just try and make one myself when I get there but i'd be fooling myself if i pretended like I know what sets to use (or what im doing at all) for mastermind.
  2. thanks so much for the info! i'll give it a shot
  3. Ah I really appreciate the help. that makes sense. I don't know quite know what im doing wrong at this point. Im still struggling just soloing +4/8 PI radios with the /trick arrow build that was posted here. The ninjas just get utterly destroyed, it seems very difficult to keep everything debuffed, and it's quite cumbersome trying to retrain them when a few of them get picked off. I'm taking less damage from body guard mode but I think I might benefit from a different secondary to be honest. Do you have a secondary you prefer for ninjas? i may just not be feeling TA enough right now I suppose.
  4. ok this is awesome. I'm trying it out now and it's so much different. but a few things I wanted to ask. If ninjas die, do you have to reset them into bodyguard mode. In the menu it says they are already in defensive, but do you just have to set them to follow or should they already be doing that when resummoned Also, you do have to retrain-rekuji ninjas when they are resummoned right. it's worth doing this when they need to be resummoned everytime? For /trick arrow, is there a specific arrow I should always be waiting for cooldown before I do anything? like should I always have EMP up when i'm pulling a big group? I know alot of it is just getting used to the movelist of everything but im just curious if there's a super important one that I might be overlooking. thanks for all the help, i do know that alot of this is just playing it and getting used to it. i will try setting the t3 to attack while others are bodyguards. thanks for the response
  5. I had no idea about this, holy crap. thanks. Yea i'll keep the wiki open when im playing lol So how do you use this with /trick arrow though, like set them to defensive to absorb damage but also fire off arrows consantly to help give them a big advantage? I was going to respec into poison gas with the heal proc instead of vengeance since im almost always playing solo with this.
  6. What is defensive mode? Im totally new to MM. sorry for the late response didnt see this. How do you not draw aggro? also yea I tended to have them attack just after I fire the first arrow, what's the best way to go about it. I usually start with flash arrow then have them attack, then continue to support with arrows. But the mobs tend to want to get to me, and once one or 2 do, with that build it's over. Should I be having them attack before I do anything absolutely everytime, to be sure they won't get to me? thanks for any help
  7. No, I've never made a brute for farming. I ended up finding that tanker build in that thread, which I made. and again it seems to do pretty ok. Yea, I appreciate the info. I think I'm just gonna use what seems to work. The information about the beta server is interesting i might give that a try.
  8. Well I guess my question would be at this point, how do I improve this build for afk farming. And I guess the point that I was trying to make was, it's difficult to figure that out because the original build is a brute. should I just raise a brute instead if that was my intent, was to follow the thread. I mean, what im doing seems to work fine now, but for the sake of trying to do what people suggest, what actually is the difference between brutes/tankers as far as this goes, and what build am I supposed to follow if i'm not going to just make a brand new brute. The only reason I raised a tanker is because many people in game said that was the way to go for afk farming, but again, I'm not really clear on how brutes/tankers differ for farming.
  9. Yea, except I did all that. I paid close attention to this thread, and it was originally the one that I got this elec/rad build from in the first place. Infact, the build I'm using was apparently a modified version of a build that was posted originally in this thread, however, i don't see it in the original post now, because AA's elec/rad build is a brute. And it's not explained how brutes/tankers differ between each other for these builds. It's also not explained how I'm not needing to use ageless T4, even though the guy who modified the original build which I don't see anymore said that it relies heavily on it. I actually asked someone else who was knowledgable about farming and they said essentially most people only use stone/rad for afk farming now due to aggro changes from a while ago, or something to that effect, and that elec/rad can still be a good active farmer. So to me, being new, I just kinda figured it's difficult to get up to date information at this point. Which is fine, people have things to do and this is a very old game. I think AA suggested a few stone/rad builds within the thread, but again, I'm pretty sure these were brutes, or the one I downloaded was. But I think it's reasonable to use what I've got, because I'm playing it like an afk build. I set up stuff at the beginning, attacks are on auto, then I go do something else. And if there *is* better information on this, I'd love to hear it. but all Ive done is read through that thread and try to do the stuff that it says and this is where I end up. Which again, is perfectly fine. Also, many people were suggesting to me before reading this thread, just in game advice, to make a elec/rad tanker so I can just do something else with my other characters. So you can see, me being new, after all this, it's (quite) contradictory. Which again, is fine. people have different methods and they dont have any obligation to help anyone out and spend their time doing that. But for what i'm using, im just doing what seems to work and make a pretty ridiculous amount of inf for very little effort. If anyone *has* an active farm build for elec/rad tanker that they'd like to post I'd be glad to hear it. I've read through that original farming guide alot and i'm not entirely sure what posts are up to date or not at this point.
  10. Haha. thanks so much for your response. I may use AA's thread to improve this build, But I did figure out a way to farm with it that's pretty reasonable. So first things first, I am quite new to even having a farm build, so part of what made this build get obliterated instantly was accidentally clicking the afk fire farm maps. That obviously wouldn't work, lol. Even going into the S/L afk asteroid map was still rough but the solution I came up with for pretty good mostly afk farming is, just pop T4 barrier with another tanky scrapper character, one that I was going to bring in anyways and auto claws aoe around the tank. I have no idea why but this elec rad tank build sustains itself without ever clicking t4 ageless at all. I don't understand why and that is contrary to everything that anybody ever said about using this in the thread I got it from. So basically, I just have another character that im controlling come in and pop t4 barrier at the beginning to cover the initial mega aggro, then it's fine, while both characters pop assault and my tank uses ageless anyways for recharge. Or for solo farming I just give him t4 barrier. I dont know why it works that way but it seems to be fine. I might change parts about the build eventually but it seems to do ok. One question, does degenerative interface incarnate work for Atom Smasher? I gave it the 75% toxic chance t3 and it seems to be killing faster ... but it could be just me imagining things. But to sum it up it seems pretty ok now. Like you said, the map really matters alot here. I'm brand new to actually having my own farm character, so I appreciate the help.
  11. This is really great, thanks so much. Yea I was probably lacking on just properly using set bonuses to get enough defense on a blaster, and I can see having more powers from ice might be a good thing. I'll try this out, thanks so much. Also, I actually was using hover/fly/evasive maneuvers but is there any advantage in general or slotting wise to not be a flying/hover blaster? i dont mind not having it honestly, I was just curious. Thanks again, this is really cool and makes alot more sense lol
  12. Hey guys, I made this elec/rad tanker build for farming and it really doesn't hold up well, just wondering what I am doing wrong. I have the incarnates and stuff unlocked but it doesn't survive any of the maps I have tried, which have been quite a few. am I missing something out of this build? I genuinely don't know what Im doing wrong and Im even more confused since my willpower scrapper seems to hold up better than this build. Any tips are greatly appreciated, Im new to tanker. thank you Elec-Rad 105 AFK Tanker.mxd
  13. hey thanks for the response. I really just need any optimal tips I can get. I'm perfectly willing to respec. Im not sure how to use mids exactly but I will describe my build as best I can.. I appreciate your patience lol, and any tips are really appreciated. Fire, I took every ability except flares and fire breath. archtype sets are full slotted in the snipe and inferno. I think superior blasters wrath is in the snipe. I have something like entropic chaos in blaze ... probably could improve on that. I forget what I have in the aoe fireball, but I know the sets in fireball and the aoe fireball are probably not very good, cause I remember my friend was trying to get me to save money at that point. From ice, i only took ice patch, build up frigid protection and chilbain. I really only slotted frigid protection for stamina issues. after that, full slotted bonfire, rotp and I think I slotted the fire armor in fire epic pool for defense, slotted tough/weave. I was trying really hard to get haste recharge to be really low, and it's at 5 seconds, so at least that feels pretty good, so I know i have set bonuses/lotg for alot of global recharge. I appreciate your patience with this, sorry if it's still not enough info. But really, I generally just want to full respec her with what generally blasters need to do (if there is such a standard) for good damage at vet level 150~ish all T4'd out and stuff. Like ive heard you mainly put procs into your weakest fireball? And where should the archtype sets go? Should I put armageddon in inferno? I really only put it in rotp since it was the only other melee aoe for fire/ice. What sets are good besides the archtype sets for fire blaster? and is there anything with ice besides chilbain/ice patch/buildup/frigid protection that is worth getting just for slotting it for set bonuses. Cause besides that I just go haste + then stuff I slot for global recharge/defense, like maneuvers and etc. I hope this is enough info and sorry again for how makeshift it is. Again, I appreciate any help. Cheers Edit: money is not an issue for this character, and i'm willing to just get an idea of what i should be working towards, rather than a quick fix that's cheap. I have alot of inf on this character
  14. Hey, how necessary are the end and HP accolades for the afk farming build? I have everything I need for it but getting all of those accolades on a fresh tanker seems like it'd take a while, if i have t4 ageless and t3 musculature and assault is that enough? The survival amplifier seems a bit expensive to be worth buying it at 2.5mil per hour. also, thank you for putting this guide together. Edit: I am trying out the slightly modified elec/rad afk build on tanker and I think I am doing something wrong .. I just die immediately, even though Ive completed the build, and gotten t4 musculature, t4 ageless and t3 assault. any suggestions? i dont have the hp accolades but i got the survival amplifier and i still just die like within 10 or so seconds in the afk 5 minute farm. Im not sure what i'm doing wrong. build im using is attached to the post. Elec-Rad 105 AFK Tanker.mxd
  15. So my first character is a Fire/Ice blaster, and she's great, vet level 150ish now, all T4'd and IOset'd out. She's cool, and she's been great for me and I use her for farming and alot of other things. my question is, after having gone through some other characters who have a bit more ideal secondaries, if I'm wanting to optimize a fire blaster to just be crazy good and be properly slotted, should I raise up a fire/fire or a fire/different secondary? I like ice, but really at level 50 I don't use any ice abilites except frigid protection and build up, the ice patch is ok but bonfire kb to kd is better. I haven't even taken hardly any ice abilities since i was trying to go perma hasten, the most I could do was have haste with a 5 second cooldown, which is good enough for me. Inferno is like a 30~ second cooldown so she's been pretty good to me considering I started playing coh last year. but I mean should I go fire/fire for more set bonus opportunities? or could I respec ice abilities to have a similar effect? Is the fire sword melee circle move actually worth slotting and using after inferno? I did fully slot RotP with Armageddon. Or if anybody has a really good fire/ice build i'm open to it. I mean I love my fire/ice blaster but the main thing is I just want to be sure that this character can do the same amount of damage and have the same set bonuses that a fully end game fire blaster should have, and if it's just a better idea to go fire/fire then ill do that. Or fire/something else any thoughts? thank you for any responses
  16. edit: made another post below
  17. Hey, I am trying this build out now and im kinda looking for tips on how to use it .. it seems very difficult to use. im opening with flash arrow and using power boost, but the mobs keep getting to me. The timers on emp and oil slick are still pretty long, can you explain a bit more in detail how you're supposed to play this? I was trying to solo on +3/6 on peregrine radios and it seemed a little rough at times. I didn't slot poison gas arrow though, maybe I should try that if I'm soloing? Any other tips? maybe I'm newer to MM, if stuff is getting to me I should immediately call them back to what's hitting me/flash arrow/ice/etc. Would the poison gas slotted w/ self heal make a big difference? any info on this would help. it seems like a fun build but im struggling to really destroy stuff with it. it could be my skill level lol but even so I feel like i'm doing something wrong rather than just not being good enough with it.
  18. I don't know, I assumed it would be since at level 38, my combo builder recharge is fairly low. 1-2 seconds for initial strike, maybe 3-4 for others. I just assumed a level 50 build could stand some considerable global recharge/haste and really make it low for the builders at least, maybe im wrong
  19. Just wanted to be clear about using SJ for the best damage (at level 50, assuming you have some good global recharge and a nice build with decent sets etc) If you miss combo builders and are at level 2, should you just use the finisher anyways? assuming you will have a low cooldown finisher? or should you really try to get to combo 3 since the recharge on combo builders is probably going to be super low. I heard sweeping cross wasn't worth it at level 50, so you only want the crushing punch and the spin attack aoe as finishers? You want everything else though right, out of SJ Also, how to build. I assume it's similar to most /willpower scrappers, go for recharge and tanky-ness with some regen and im assuming you slot the hell out of stamina/quick recovery/physical perfection for SJ since ive heard it uses alot of endurance Something like that? any thoughts? im new to SJ but I really did not feel like playing it on a stalker since just it doesn't really fit with the theme im going for with SJ thanks for any guidance on this
  20. ok I can see what you're getting at here, so what proc enhancements would you put in SD then. I have superior blistering coldx5 in it at the moment + one recharge enhancement that's probably not really doing anything. I'd lose the set bonuses if i do anything but replace the recharge enhancement but im just curious what's possible, i may mess around w/ it in mids
  21. Right, see i'm using superior blistering cold and the 2 archtype sets, with scrapper strike split as well. I'm likely doing what I should be doing im just not used to it cause I came from playing a blaster. But yea my katana/willpower scrapper is omega tanky and I find that to be more important than trying to squeeze out a little more damage as well. I also need to unlock hybrid slot lol that'd probably help things out as well. One last question would you go barrier if a scrapper is already tanky or ageless? I really have 0 endurance issues, it would probably just take like a few seconds off dragonfly/dragon at this point. I just dont know if barrier would do anything if im already pretty solid defense wise. i know it's probably good to get both. Thanks for the help, just wondering. I am quite new to scrapper, only played blaster so far.
  22. ah ok, thanks for the help. But I mean if this is the case, how do you get more damage for a scrapper? Just recharge and damage set bonuses?
  23. I'm pretty new here but just trying to understand, is it a good idea to use damage proc enhancements for scrapper abilities that have like a 13-17 second cooldown? or should you just use cooldown instead for the slot. I found another big damage proc topic that got into how worth it is, saying that for lower cooldown abilities like 3-5 seconds, it's not worth it, but for higher cooldown like 16-ish seconds it might be. But..global cooldown doesn't affect that, right. Cause say, on a katana scrapper, golden dragonfly's cooldown for me has gone down to 3-4 seconds after global cooldown. I'm unsure how hasten affects the damage proc also. So where and how/if do I use damage proc enhancements for scrapper. Or say a katana scrapper. and how does ageless/hasten affect that, if that's clear. if I'm even asking this right lol. again sorry i'm new just wrapping my head around this a bit before spending alot of inf on stuff. thanks for the help
  24. what set bonuses would you sacrifice to add some damage. I know i just need to get my incarnate stuff up lol that'd probably help. I do like the self rez just cause im a scrub
  25. So I used this build and it's really amazing, the defense and stuff is just wild and I solo'd alot of things. Very fun build. I have a few questions: 1) do you think it's possible to add more damage to this build? or is this just kind of what you expect from a katana scrapper. it's still solid damage, but I'm just unaware of what I should be expecting. Like does this build stress more defense or is the damage what it should be for the most part 2) How exactly do I use divine avalanche.. like I know you just use it, but does this build need for it to be used more than 2-3 times to get the full use out of it? I'm unclear on it. Sorry for all the questions, just new to scrapper and all this and very much appreciate all the info. again, thanks for the build, super fun
