  1. So yes then, there is knockback involved, conditional or not. Not from this posting. Don't appreciate the implication I'm lying. I'd dig up the post(s) where you gave that slotting but honestly, kinda done with you.
  2. I like both. They are single target -def attacks. I like having them up as soon as I switch targets, at least one is good to go and my rotation is seamless. I am typing this after watching entire missions worth of enemies fly backwards, almost comically. The comment that it does knockdown instead of knockback is simply untrue. I am in game as I type this doing the frostfire mission solo and am knocking people into the next room, seemingly. Inex is a set mule with an absorb chance. DNA - this is cracking me up a little 🙂 I took that slotting from you 😉 Para - I really am still looking for ways to get some slots in there. I want to use the -dam aspect, but in reality it's only 1 source and not a great one compared to other needs/power choices. It's just a slight bump in health and endo, not much more to say really. I try to use it just after build up, if needed, when my chance to hit is @99% ( mobs @+3) I might rob Peter to pay Paul ( the power above ) with this suggestion. I'll see what I can do. Thanks Uun.
  3. I'll throw my build for Saint-Exmin ( love the cult classic movie! ) just for a different take. Don't let the 121 global fool you, this thing is an absolute blender. Saint-Exmin - Brute (Battle Axe - Bio Armor).mbd
  4. A LOT of good info here. I try not to call out folks and their build ideas, even if it's not my cup-a, they made an effort to share and help so I'm supa cool with it, and them 😄 Thank you folks for giving me a lot to think of and to delve into. Having not a great deal of experience with the last 3rd of homecoming, it's a grey area I need to learn.
  5. I appreciate the insight from an end game player. I've been back 5 months or so now and have a few 50's and a bajillion somewhere below 😄 I do have a few with incarnates ( only the first initial levels, however ) As always I'm addicted to the building and refining of play from start to end, then start over. It's been the most joyful to me, as a gamer, for as long as I can remember. I've started to delve more into the mechanics and have learned a great deal from some notables on these forums for sure. My brusk ( blunt?) manner has not served me well, unfortunately I tend to ask first, think later. I'm nearly certain I rubbed Uun the wrong way, but honestly I've learned the most from their comments and only recently re-read the posts and my reply's. I struggle with being social. I meant no insult which, of course doesn't disallow the fact that insult may have been taken. An apology of sorts then. Again, thank you kindly it's very much appreciated! Cheers.
  6. @Camel Interesting build. Your end situation looks dire to me. How do you offset 1.93 end drain before casting powers against a 3.5 end return? A question about the Gaussian's proc in Tactics, will it even proc reliably in an aura? It seems some of your to hit is leveraged with it's going off. Personally, I think health is over slotted. You have two heals plus insp. I would take the absorb proc out, move that free slot to Twilight and get the +end proc in there. Dark Servant is a team killer 😄 That blood thirsty bastige is not something I'll put in my dark builds. His motto seems to be "AGGRO THE WORLD!" Live weened me off him 😄 I do like some of your proc'd powers and your use of the hami's to get the acc up to good levels. I'm toying with my build to see about that myself 🙂 As for the Torrent, I didn't want to deal with knockback in this build. I'm usually an absolute fiend for knockdowns, but it seemed unnecessary in this one. Thank you kindly for the input. Cheers!
  7. In regards to the latest version (3.0 at the end of the OP), would a set and slot swap between Gloom and Tenebrous make more sense? My thinking is the AOE Tenebrous would leverage the AOE +End proc better? Is this flawed thinking? Curious.
  8. Made 17 fairly smoothly. I knew going in, it was an end hog so early SO slotting has this in mind. damage powers are acc/end redux/dam on fast casting ones and the end redux is swapped for a rech redux on the longer ones. Seems to work ok so far. Selective use of the toggles is mandatory. In a fast kill group darkest night is shelved to help that little bit. Final slotting looks to add as much endo recovery as I can without compromising the other facets. I also tried to make sure my accuracy was over 50 (including the tactics %). We'll see how it goes 🙂 I wanted more knockback protection and higher melee def. Any thoughts? EDIT: After sleeping on it - I went back and tweaked the build a tad. I'll include the new version below this original post. Grey Divide - Corruptor (Dark Blast - Dark Miasma).mbd New Version: Grey Divide 3.0 - Corruptor (Dark Blast - Dark Miasma).mbd
  9. Thank you @Uun I've got a stab at it drafted now. It's not quite as end efficient as Doom's but it brings a little utility to the table to offset that and a bit more in the way of resists. The defenses suffer though. This seems to be a party dependent build so went with it. Clarity was something I wanted to squeeze in but didn't see anything I wanted to replace it with. Firebreak - Controller (Fire Control - Sonic Resonance).mbd
  10. Thank you Doom. I've been playing it a lot the last day. One thing I can't understand with JJ's offering is taking smoke so late. I find it an every fight debuff that is great in mitigating damage solo or in group, albeit low level at this point. I had to change my slotting a bit last night because of the end hungry nature. I am a lover of the dark armor sets so I guess I'm used to figuring that out 😄 Thank you kindly @Doomguide2005 It's appreciated. I've looked at yours and notice two things, you added a lot of single target damage (and another pet!), and you didn't bother with global rechard hardly at all. I'm guessing with all the damage dealer choices the need for recharge is reduced somewhat? Just curious at your mindset here.
  11. I've been playing a Fire / Sonic 'troller just lately. It's been fun early on as it's made me take a party buff forward stance while de-buffing (with smoke and sonic siphon). My thought was it would be a late bloomer with buffed imps. My questions are many but the two I'd like to put forward are 1) Can the imps (all of them) be buffed by one application of enflame and perhaps spirit ward? I'm only 15 so a ways to go before I find out. 2) How do those of you that play trollers without any self healing deal with it? Thank you kindly.
  12. First, I was using "defense" in the general sense, not the Defense/Resist sense. No need to mansplain here. The second bit, great info, I was unaware of the soft cap only applying to defense and not resistance, thanks for that. The last bit, I meant I have no sources of endurance reduction at all in Tough, thus the need for reduction in weave being needed at that point in the build. Not sure what's difficult too understand there. *shrug*
  13. I did experiment with this notion, however 2 things made me pick how I currently have it. 1) I wanted that 3% in as soon as possible as blasters get precious few options to insert defense in a low level environment ( a.k.a. while leveling ) I don't forward funds to my heroes making them "tough it". It's a personal choice and one that does seem weird, I know. It's not too bad, I just gather merits from exploring and Ada on the hour >:D I've been putting in attuned enhancements for the ones I want/need to be at end level spec ( in a manner of speaking ). 2) The added 3% for fire cold would push me over the soft cap ( SO STINKIN CLOSE! ) but in the end I wanted the level up experience to be as fluid as possible. The end requirements of weave are such ( significantly more than Hover ) that I wanted ( I think it might be ingrained in my CoH DNA now! ) to get the endo relief in asap. ( and because I have Tough raw doggin' it without endo help in the slightest! ) That would push the %3 enh even further into my build. Still, respecing (sic) into it is absolutely a great suggestion and worthwhile for sure, when I hit 50! Thank you 🙂
  14. Hello again 🙂 I've been playing a build that has satisfied me like no other lately. The powers so perfectly mesh with my idea of what a golden age blaster would be. The looks, the sounds and the unapologetic BULLYING. From level 1 --> it's just been so ... enjoyable and, like I said, SATISFYING. Some of my energy choices rankle some, I don't care 🙂 I don't like Energy Torrent, and I never will. I find the cone particularly clunky and too chaotic for a set that is already blowing things around. Besides, I have Burst of Speed, which I love, and Dragons tail, again <3! By the time we get to explosive blast and Nova .. well losing one cone seems insignificant. I fooled around with the recharge and landed where I'm at. It feels just about perfect. No need to chase more. The same with the defenses. I'm a Blaster. I've embraced the pew pew kick face life. |MBD;26496;1699;2268;BASE64;| |G39nERWcWACtjjcWhhULKSkJmmzMuf+86nAszFg5IrelfnmMKdqSmNKbupjyaBwI07u| |228j3WXZPJhwWQ7J09bUOC0hXN9Xz2RpBRDRV/3Xa1d+mZeywBDtxtu7ZRGjKIKmXOk| |Dv25t7MS6RkvY/dKez+3dSenO0ur/duRTVFKWrUn1rCmEx/nBYeTO0nVFcXHA4JO/c4| |R0SGRtD7TqmHT/y+RaMQaJI/dEWhkXqlwrxamH33Sgd+WeLTA600PyOxuPtm0fAEKm3| |wUsQC/bXrG9U8+JjOi++xgypbO55SN3tzcdPEhiyGC3OlAYas0pfi/3Z6EWvJz2EMVt| |mPkVxR2arnTPtYAvnNXbf7S6pnPHByuZ5mjqxq2of3YlS8ORdrTFMunrfXohSmBRc72| |Uond564P5p3XsTDFk0PGnBcLDVgqs243pcS9y691ouENpT3DGd+rRzIIvqiWYvA8alW| |OWpPgMN80kZquu3YwTTqsX7keujQv2XS9SZy25mxtwHg9mb9uD3avMZfjLo9WGz0uBM| |n9bS2ojs/YxmU20T0DnyoRqaoGjgDUxNMZUEKz46wPbyXLGq5Rwy8MM4XwovASJwUKz| |RAoONczpbxnzSyXPFys9czxJveouZnSHlI/+TpvfNQZKShV3/MeFcvAYXwLkBF8I9TA| |Y2HvIvcAm4p5XbidoOtgBNL+8P7qoZl1hJUy9Je2HK9aj6IYbWeDauHO0SA1wIZ7jj4| |vhR1JA4gFImJlco9ed2YEv4TsN2cZqyA3Vuonmg9By9IvUcHUg9R6/Qyszsr2jSJXW7| |sxb5hrH/SWlKZgnTHZMmLY9CxvOAXVawNfxy4GC7OrcFpFWK4MQSLi7AhXCDO2kdRJY| |KhFfoJLhdlnteT3sk3JYBzvJaMldF7Dxlez0Dr4pO1Uh6PRJmhjofUdVdUBoOKg3fKl| |mZ54rykfdmutOs4clJlhMgWEqApoKT+BUXx4FsSxlAnT0cznltKBliSy5uVN/t4DGVT| |48++b2WRf6OGq7NGJIaA9A9o1Nplw0EM3o9dvtizXuD2KmIkuV5K02vRMxRqg4Ej/X0| |hpWp8BQ93u2EM745JDVoo0FTUUDOHjimp1xQmxB8rf+IaYi5kHIhIgAE07hahwmEjZo| |e2VWE1bninOyDQwLWYmOdBJThoF3zxrfUzv3MupqdsIiembby7xnNfAeu5LJBbr6qbZ| |eS610Hy5gz4X4ma2UQCaEkFLx0n1EQD6S70RAYYONwYyBvAGcODr8m6ggLtoKldvPNZ| |T7t6bJRHFoij9Prr7mOc8fYmbLHzkFFjBeypLlGcoHmJ6Op+C2Mh6boD5XaeFz/Pc0w| |FDUjxeKakSMtr0g0UWpsjsOdIVvNjpgXHbxm+2KzIEIK86q8Okcqh3y7Ps3rLp8zK9e| |mGRAia7wFBs2SApISbBw+S9AAKdUUypO9LdL4ElmzNi5F9obB95P3hW+yhQWEJdg4/B| |ebgN/GviB+/SbelGt8Z8Fx+XvKzxFJtoXeCnlqqZYVkCgWSXMNHMYUGr7mRr7RMOY55| |1+m8DkN2IFc/05IQEiCi+PAqUQMoNMYkjgFqe2v2hQU9NlNhvhCf9jPQtvHHd1UYLPL| |X4ixZ81y1niqZQXYEL5HVoesAY8z+4tD+i/YcMuOLLpAYywwUI1Ats1aClwmN/v52kl| |a8aaaPYR9Zbx1Q/tZuwloDnu+KZv4dGYKIzvaYi88wI5nzgeZz2wPCG/qn2g3RuFkjE| |83S0vt9Qh82RGz7WaKLUyGLE6gOvlKRLy32c5w0v+HJ42h9QjT+9JF40PE20xvS+HwY| |sS6S0ZXxaX5Z3m+An3py5sOYXG6UdOepAkxWVT3FcO4U68XjX4H1v0kr/60pYHduHiT| |fZV8U+dclzpSOP0NY9J3Nmrcz1PF24RjJ2g1/VVUtRHwYuuFLjmH9aow5akOtqfuOnl| |5fUy1f8s/RTe6FGFNeYa/6v0lkKrHDN8RjmL/S9eM1sq9avOTVlA4gzIROKbvuE1bse| |TE674yPPGiV2c803WH7olDk4xAFRNVf6WbqmrvkYWht3PT8GXMlNGoYuUJxwx2kZETw| |bKc+VmZPZdeZ3ZJ2XRNNmDgXsWt9wmnHQjFG47szxY6etdkzXru2ubQRE/LtapjHnXy| |lepcnbHv0zCYv6nmM2WeMPg/6WQqhpSTfTaCfroWm/Ka+ycf4lU3R0x7qKrOltDJg7K| |EHS1DquhXBDPNsYhRkPCX6M4lsqRVMK7CffrjUHee5RbbCmfsOGbV2g==|
  15. I want to ask, because I have played this to 30. Is your advice motivated at all, by actually playing a build origin to completion, without any assistance from your other toons? Or as a respec fully funded, with nice crispy full sets of level up with you enhancements? The reason I ask is this has played, letter perfect to the build planner, like a dream. The two toggles you suggest would cause massive endo issues, and keep in mind I've had level matching IO's in the entire time. At low levels, when you can (supposedly should) take those, the mobs die so fast it's a waste to even apply them. Most times when you're picking your target it gets burned down. Tried that, moved on, take 'em later and feel fine. Again, PLAYED, not a 2D Mids builder, theorycrafted build. You say HO are pointless for boxing/assault, they wont be used. But boxing has been used, at low levels, where I'm playing, not farming, or PLing. I'm soloing arch missions or doing TF's appropriate to my level. As far as neutrino and xray poor returns, again, they have been amazing. My experience and your notion do not align. Since I've grouped I have been one of, if not THE, strongest heroes, in each of them. My experience informs my choices and I'm finding the advice I get must be taken with a grain of salt. Builds, in a vacuum, to ooo and ahh at numbers is not what I'm after. If a new ( or returning player - like me ) took this build, with DO's or SO's I bet they find it a great experience. I've looked at a lot of defender mids builds, my defenses, recharge, DPS, and regen are right there with most of them. I do appreciate the Incarnate advice, I'm not there yet. The walls of text in the Mids planner make my eyes gloss over so I just pick one based on a quick glance and move on. I'll figure that out in a month or so. I hope.
  16. Thanks 🙂 Pizza for you! Been exemplaring a lot actually. It works how I like, so far. I've not made a single change and am at 29 as I type this. So far, in exemplaring (sic) down I have been so tough as to be able to hold the line while others get sorted after splitting from the group, and straying from the healer (me). A surprising aspect to be sure 😄 I wanted to fit in teleport, but... I just could seem to talk myself out of any other pool. 3 slot for super jump is strictly chasing ranged def and slow resist. It's one of the cheapest ways to that defensive type I could find. Mutation just seemed... meh. Besides using the corpses of unfortunate or foolhardy team mates to make the rest of the team my merry band of murder puppets has proven very nice at low levels. This is on a budget. I'm not anywhere near Daddy Warbucks status. SO's will have to work, for now. I'm excited to see what the two PBAOE's bring to my table. I haven't got a chance to use them yet. Soon. . .
  17. Hello it's me again 🙂 I'm taking a tour of the ATs ( as you do ) and have started with a defender as of yesterday. I'm taking Proton as a starting base with the idea that since he is multiple beings ( either real or fashioned ) I would tap further into that thought process and create another. His outfit subtly calls to Protons look but is different. My further idea was for him to be party-centric. I want him to do well solo, but shine in a group. I've read a lot in the forums before creating my Mids. A few things to address: I had Irradiate in, and opted to take it out in favor of choking cloud, later in the build. a) Reasoning - I have plenty of attacks - I needed some control aspect to allow me to wade in, when needed, and give heals or deliver my hard hitting Pbaoe's ( realizing that Irradiate is one as well ) b) Further reasoning - I've grown fond of using Neutrino and X-ray as a rapid fire "Always something to hit with" option while the hard hitters are on cooldown and/or I'm healing/buffing. I furthered their utility via enhancement options. I really wanted to be durable. Defenders evoke the idea of toughness, so I wanted to lean into it. I did the best I could but honestly feel like this is one of my better first attempts. I like it. https://api.midsreborn.com/build/download/Fxwur0u3Iwjx164N Thermopyle - Hero Defender Build plan made with Mids' Reborn v3.7.5 rev. 21 ────────────────────────────── Primary powerset: 18. Appreciate the interaction! My continuing thoughts as I faf about with mids. Hasten, this is gonna sound weird, but I only need 1 to keep my recharge at 300%. I get a ton from my set bonuses. So I took 1 out because it was essentially overkill. I can't take the bonuses out of the sets, so the slot was recycled. You've expanded ( and maybe blown ) my mind with the deep dive on the potential for mez protection depending on where something is slotted. Why is Mids like a potpuri jenga puzzle of mystery? 😄 Enigma be damned, I'm pushing on. Jet Stream, a further triste, I use it not as a primary damage dealer but in the interdiction role of battlefield control. While Storm Cell is active it becomes a knockdown. This is great soft control and is a noticeable defensive tool no matter the level. I want it to be as close to 100% as possible, hence the slotting choice.
  19. Ok, I did a bit of an adjustment, a wee lil bit of tweaking and a flat out shift of my epic. My core philosophies seem to be intact, but I took to heart what was offered and did my best to incorporate the information. https://api.midsreborn.com/build/download/FwcfUy0giBEgYCPN
  20. A few things to further define my thought process. I keep evasive always on. I toggle between Fly or Hover, but Evasive is a constant. I use it like a defensive toggle ( which it is ) with a side benefit of amazing flight control. Invaluable to this old timers waning reflexes 🙂 Stealth and Infiltration are indeed mules. My goal was a interdiction blaster. Max recharge so that I have as many offensive option at my beck and call as possible to control the battle field. Ice Sword for when I run Oro missions. I like having a good melee option at those lower levels. Also this was built as a leveling build. Far too often I've been giving builds that are functionally inept at leveling, clearly being respc, end-game builds. I know they will eventually be as delivered, but without the funds to pimp them out I find them frustrating to attempt to play. I don't power level, FF or any of that. I like to do the story arcs and task forces as intended, and at appropriate level when possible. Jet Stream is only used when Storm Cell is active, which is often, as it turns out. I wanted HP's. I want MORE, but what I have was a balance between HP and Res/Def values that keep my old butt in the fight. Having said this, I read a lot about soft cap, but nothing of hard cap. Is there a definite "this is the most XXX AT can have for this defensive stat? And if so, are they different between Resistance and Defensive? Being blind to that specific knowledge I built in more resistance as a sort of buffer for when defense falls. The biggest issue for me was trying to eek in AOE defense. I just don't know enough about it's value, and the sets that provide it ( or if they are even worth pursuing ). I'm pouring over your sample build looking at slotting choices and such. Thank you kindly.
  21. Another couple of options reside within Mids itself. While in Mids, at the top under Build Sharing it provides a drop down. Pick the first option (recommended) This brings up a new window with 4 tabs along the top. Select Build Links (API) Click the Submit button in the middle. Wait for the fields at the right to populate then copy the Download URL. You can now post this to the forums as a direct data link to your build. Alternately, from the same open window you can go to Forum Post (Formatted) Light Blue in the left field seems to work best across light and dark themes, but, you do you 🙂 BBCode in the right field should be selected. In the lower right corner click Export. It is now saved to your clipboard, simply right click and Paste. This will provide the old way we did it. Hope this helps! Take care.
  22. Simply put, would 120% be sufficient for a recharge rate on a Fire/Claws tanker? My current thought on my build, without incarnates, looks like this: https://api.midsreborn.com/build/download/FvAw8Pd9kGYVEZdk A side note: Spring attack, because - Cat. However I've toyed with putting Stealth in as a LotG mule.
  23. I know, it's no Bah Ram Ewe, but it's what I've come up with, ok? The learning curve has been steep but stimulating. I got bit by the Alt-itis bug after getting my eldest daughters childhood books gathered up to send to her so her daughter can enjoy them. I spotted Thumbelina and my mind went to CoH because, what ELSE is a retired old fart ganna do? I found precious little in the way of builds like this so went with the kind knowledge given so far and dove in. Which means there are issues I don't know enough to see, I'm certain. https://api.midsreborn.com/build/download/FuYkDJoB7HEFXQBS Snowbelina Snowbelina - Hero Blaster Build plan made with Mids' Reborn
