Are these only dropped randomly through time capsules?
Or can these be encountered thru random encounters?

Only via time capsules though the chances of them being the ambush is higher than the other mobs.

One for the old-school Rikti and one for the old school CoT. And the old-school Rikti can award Vanguard merits too. I didn't start playing until after the Rikti got clothes so those were interesting to come across.

Option of? Sure.  Only option?  No thank you, some of the fun is in finding where stuff is. (I don't have Vidiotmaps installed - I don't like the way they look)

I would not mind this as an OPTION also.

But it's already and option, people can opt to install it, or not.

Maybe combine a hood with the scarf cape option, using the over the shoulder mantle.

I looked into that, sadly, the fabric goes across the collarbone area and no higher. It'd be nice if they had a version of the Reaper (in Option 3) that was just around the neck and didn't cover the face. Something along the lines of this:

    Hello costume gurus!

I need some help. I'm trying to get a hajib for a Muslim heroine (from the Levant), but not coming up with anything convincing. No veil, just a modest head covering, not a burqa ensemble. I tried the various hoods but not really satisfied, but perhaps someone can draw my attention to another part(s) that might work or at least be somewhat in the same vein?

    Sample image:

I think the standard hood is going to be your best option. The CoT hood would work, but there are not options that allow for a wrap-around appearance around the neck area in Options or in Shoulders.

There is a scarf in Capes if you select Long or Short capes, in the options you can choose Scarf. It does not wrap around the neck as I had hoped, but it will have 2 scarf ends replacing what would be a cape.

This thread isn't so much giving me ideas (as I'm set in my UI ways) as it is making me jealous of your monitors...

    Iknowight!

I'm working off a laptop, so only 17.5" of screen.

I generally try to minimize the intrusiveness of power effects as much as possible. Setting some powers to "dark" and then choosing the lightest possible colors to make them translucent, setting armor toggles to minimal fx (or nofx if possible), etc.

For things like attacks, I'm fine with leaving them as default or coloring them to fit the character's motif, but for stuff that gets toggled on or thrown on other people, I want to make it as minimal as I can. Having someone throw neon-green ice and fire shields on you so all you can see is a blob of color running around as you're fighting is annoying. 🙂

I do something similar, though using the dark theme seems to always have that inky, blackness no matter what. I tend to chose the light theme and go for the left-most columns as they seem to be less saturated and not as noticeable.

  7. Issue: When the Troll Rave in Skyway activates at the southern location west of the Southern Transit Station, the trolls will spawn somewhere to the north at a lower elevation than the rave site then get stuck in a loop jumping up on the tram track (at 2 different cross-support sections) and falling to the ground, never making it to the rave.

Trolls spawn should be moved to the west where they can more easily hop a fence and run up the road.

I seem to recall that in the original game, you had the ability to toggle the visibility of your character's name and title on and off for yourself.

Am I mistaken?  If not, how do you do that?

    Thanks!

It is in Options - Windows tab - Reticle section, 3rd option from the bottom 'Personal Player name'. Click on 'Hidden' to toggle to 'Show always'.

You know, I do recall there was a name release once back on live.  Wouldn't call it a purge, since if no one logged in on long idle characters, they still had their names, but were no longer subject to yoinking.

I also seem to remember it was a pretty successful event and don't even remember any major butthurt and raging on the forums over it either.  I was pleased to finally be able to drop the hyphen from Twilight-Vixen at last (one of my oldest characters) and make her properly Twilight Vixen.

I did consider changing Honeybree to Honeybee (which had been taken at the time I made Bree, but Honeybree had grown on me and she kept the name.

The Legacy devs ran the name release twice and according to one of them when asked at one of the HeroCon events, stated that of all the names released (I can't recall how many it was), that on the 1st run less than 10% of the released names had been reclaimed, on the second run it was even lower.

It would be interesting to know, when/if the HC devs get around to running their name release code, what percentage of names released are actually claimed.

Speaking for myself, I’m a lot OLDER than when I was last in COH. I think the consolidation of content is a COOL thing, but I would imagine that some returning players from my Age cohort might not like what they perceive as someone moving their cheese.

I’ve had two major strokes since I last logged into COH, so *I’m* just glad to be here and able to play reasonably well.

When I meet players that are not accepting of Homecoming, my response is a polite; “We’re lucky to have this and it’s better than not having it at all”…..

That might not be the best response; but hey - I have brain damage 🙂

A lesson from Jabberwocky is: Do not move the cheese.

The simpler solution is to just follow the cheese.

Regarding people like the one the OP mentions...

These appear to be free activations of the Signature Summons (https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Signature_Summon) which are available from S.T.A.R.T. There are four of these and they cost 10,000,000 Inf for 5 charges and you can have up to 99 charges of each on a single character. If you are a Blue sider your options are Echo of Statesman (Tank), Echo of Manticore (Support), Echo of Back Alley Brawler (Melee), or Echo of Positron (Ranged). If you are a Red sider, you get Echo of Lord Recluse (Tank), Echo of Ghost Widow (Support), Echo of Black Scorpion (Melee), or Echo of Scirocco (Ranged). They have a duration of 4 minutes.

I'm going to guess and say these are what you could randomly get from opening capsules. I have charges of these on a hot bar, and when I get one activating from a capsule, those temp power grey out.

These are the summons I've gotten on my main. I was surprised when I got Recluse and he brought his own minion.

Also, when I had Black Scorpion and swapped to blue-side, he converted to BaBs when I entered Atlas Park.
