  1. It was a great turnout with many new faces and players to the event. Welcome one and all. We had a terrific raid and the few times I hopped out of the pit to get more Rikti, there were few to be found. I also noticed several Tanks pulling Rikti, and other inhabitants of the warzone, along with us as we took down the pylons. Great work everyone! I have a few pictures to share, but that will have to wait until I get home. I was busy in chat, and I missed the killing shot, so belated gratz to Tinglie, and thanks for the generosity in gifting the prize to new Tankers. My team went on to a Yin after for additional herding and fun. And thanks to Ohm for providing the prize (I wasn't aware of that arrangement - will done). Hope to see you all next month here on Torch, or at any other of the Tanker Tuesday events. Thanks for joining us in the fun!
  2. I go with the order you have them listed. Shield gives you Shield Charge which pairs well when all 2ndry sets and is extremely fun and effective to use. Defense based, but you can get decent resists with IOs and you can do additional tuning with Incarnates. Super Reflexes (SR), good overall Defenses (probably the best). You can get to Max Def pretty quickly (? level 25 iirc). No damage or effect aura which is a down side for me, but paired with either Spines or Radiation Melee you can pick one up. Will Power, not my fav, but many TTer's love the set. Good overall survivability once you get it slotted and tooled in. Again, no damage aura, so same deal as SR (2ndry wise). Combines Resists, Defs and Regen (interesting mechanics).
  3. Freem is a ridiculously overpowered retooling of Council in a successful attempt to make them more boring than they already were... Apparently Council was being farmed which bothered the Devs for some reason (because it's not like there isn't other farmable content..). Anyways... Freem stacks, from Rockets and Grenade Launchers, Warwolf hits (normal (lts and bosses) and the Nictus attacks, and I think the reg Bosses have something before the transform. Nearest I can tell from my testing 20 KB protection is needed to prevent it. Or, at least it provides enough for you to take down the minions contributing to it (rockets and grenades) while you slowly whittle down the Warwolves (Nictus Rez, bosses transform into Warwolvex with a big sack of HPs --- Yawn). 20 KB protection will also make you popular for Taunting Yellow Mitos and perhaps help with some GMs (Io(?)), I haven't had time to fully test this. But, you will need to change your build a bit, sacrificing a few more slots that would other be more useful elsewhere. The change penalizes Fiery Aura and Dark the most, not sure why that was necessary, but it's what we've got now. If you're going Council hunting proc out your ST attacks for bosses and AoE everything else. KB Protection IOs: 3 Fury of the Gladiator (3) Karma's KB Protection (4) Steadfast Protection KB Protection (4) Blessing of the Zephyr KB Protection (4) Acrobatics from the LeapingPool (7, provides additional KU, Mez and Hold Protection) a bit more protection at the cost of a power choice. So on tight builds not really feasible (and you have to take two powers prior to unlock... so a bit of a "meh").
  4. Not sure what happened on Citadel, I guess with the level range we were at losing the two other Tanks made a big difference. We did finish, a bit after the end of the event, but got it done none the less. Thanks to all my teammates for sticking in there and completing the TF. Overall, there was much leveling and fun to be had Tanker style. I think an upcoming challenge (2026?) might be Super Reflexes/* (in honor of PapaS's comments last night). Looking forward to the MSR next week. See you all there!
  5. I was pretty bummed that Babbs flaked on us. Including SnS and the TT run that's something like 3 - 4 times he's avoided us? Either the TF is bugged, or he's afraid of my Tanks. I was really looking forward to PLV soloing him... I've got a couple of pics, but they'll have to wait until I get home. We had a great team, much, much herding, many leveling dings and a lot of fun with the herd and scrapping of clocks. For a destroy most run, I think we made great time. Can't wait for that one to come back around. Synapse has some of the best maps for a team of Tanks to do their thing! As Promised:
  6. I feel like it's already been answered, but Rad would be my first choice (personal preference (kinda' like Fiery Melee is)), but that doesn't mean it's the only one. I think the 2ndry effects of BA compliment every primary. The End heavy primaries, or ones w/o End Recovery powers would be 2ndry choices (from an End management standpoint). I haven't run my Fire/Axer in awhile (don't recall if I rolled prior to Axe Cyclone - think it's likely), but I can see AC and Burn being just plain nasty (especially with Fold Space carefully used in big rooms). But, you can make similar arguments for most the other primaries as well (sans Burn, but other effects, Slows, End Drains, Etc...(Ice/Axe or Stone/Axe...)). Anyways, probably no wrong combo with BA, some primaries will just mature later than others.
  7. I can take a Synapse team.
  8. This among a few other things really makes Battle Axe the ultimate Tanker Secondary (don't forget enemy juggling with KU and KD). Haven't tried it with Fold Space yet, but I can see how that would get "interesting" (dang, test server here I come again....).
  9. Have you mastered all the craziness you can do with Axe Cyclone? If not, just wait until you get that figured out. ;)
  10. We need a Tank emoji....
  11. Had a good run on ApeMage, with a great team. AVs took us bit of time for reason, but other than that no complaints (we probably could have used pets more frequently than we did). But overall great herds and lots of fun. And, we got a few new players, so welcome to the fun! I was kinda' bummed as PLV was our back up ApeMage leader and up until the need for him to lead, I planned on kicking back and letting him do all the heavy lifting (which is my usual plan when teaming with him ;) I can't hog all the Tanker glory). As always, we hope to see the new attendees and returning Tankers at our upcoming events!
  12. Good fun on Indom last night. I had a great team (6 of us running at 8 +0). I think my toon ended up at level 28, and I noticed a lot of level dings as we ran along. It was good to see two teams worth of challenge builds as well as some new faces! Welcome to all those new to TT! So... I'm thinking we're in line for a Yin TF next month here on Indom (Challenge Tanks). I can run an ApeMage next time if you need me to, and isn't @wittylibrarian our default Dr. Q lead? See you all in game (or on a Tuesday)!
  13. Hey Ronin, Nuclear Impact (my toon) is the current lead on TankHQ Everlasting. Winteriel (Scranker) has the red star on Excel, Atomic Minotaur (my toon) is the one of the commanders.
  14. Okay, so after a quick consultation with Ronin, here's the revised list of Challenge builds (rough timeline/server): Everlasting = Electrical Melee, Spring/Early Summer Excel = Rad Melee, Late Summer/Early Fall 2025 Victory = Challenge TBD, Winter 2025 I think the main question we need to answer is if we want to start the Electric Melee challenge on April 15th, or wait until May.
  15. I guess that could go either way. I just looked at the tread again and it could be Rad for Excel and Electrical Melee for Everlasting... We'll have to discuss and see if we can sort that out. Good news is, we have a few weeks to get it done. MSR is probably the easiest and I'm not sure I'm up for another Hami atm. So let's look at an instanced MSR.
  16. Yeah, yeah, somehow Proton Armor got detoggled (resist to Fire, Cold, Energy ( a bit important in this setting) and Neg). Not sure how that happened as none of my attack toggles are near it and if I was drained CJ and some other powers most likely would have detoggled first/as well, so I'm thinking something sneaky happened (GM, Tanker Gods, Fate, internetz sprites, or maybe @zem wanting to use Revive Ally) ... for my part, I was responding to chats and not paying close enough to my toon... So let that be a lesson "Do not to Tank and Chat". Once I figured out the problem (was hard to see all the Power Icons with all the effects going off), I didn't drop him again... I did get pics, but at work atm so they'll have to wait until I get home (and hopefully remember to post). The one thing I will say about the reactor respecs is that they are the best maps to herd on! If you've never joined a TT and wanted to, the respecs are one of the best events to join (BIG HERDS) (actually we'd be happy to see at any of them... but if you want big herds... respecs). I think there was chat of starting a 2ndry Powers challenge on Everlasting next month. Which I was thinking was Electrical Melee, but in fact Zem's suggestion was for Rad Melee. Not my first choice, but I'm down with it. I'd love to see overlapping Irradiated Grounds (especially with Primaries that have Damage Aura (all Electric/Rads would be nasty)). So, that works. Let us know what you all think. */Rad Melee challenge for Everlasting starting next month? Yea/Nay? And... Electrical Melee was a suggestion for another sever, but we won't start that until we complete all the TFC TFs on Everlasting.
  17. Fun times, I was on a great team. More new faces and players showing up to the event. Welcome to all the newcomers. I also managed to get my Stone/Icer up to 50, so "Yay" new 50 Tank! I'm thinking it's time for an all Shield ITF next month (here on Torch (unless something else comes up)).
  18. Warboss

    My First Tank

A bit late to the dance, but I'd say try a Rad/Fire Tank.
  19. Visually Shield Charge + Fire Sword Circle is hard to beat (then Combustion, maybe a ST, and FSC is up again, so "Wall of Fire"), another ST (maybe two) and Combustion, then FSC, then Shield Charge! Yeah, an thing of beauty...
  20. The lack of any AoE until level 16 (Hand Clap - needs about 3 slot to proc) with SS is kinda' annoying. But, SS is good at pumping out the damage. Fire though is pretty fast and provides fun animations ( AND ....it's FIRE!). With procs you can add mitigation or other affects depending on what you want to do. I tend to like Avalanche's KD proc in FSC (although at least a couple of current builds are using Armageddon's instead) , and slotting at least one Kin Combat KD in an ST attack. You can AoE proc out Combustion for some more fun (haven't tried Cupid's proc in there yet, does it affect more than one target?). If you Take Hasten and get LoG's +Global Recharge going you can get FSC down to about 5-6 seconds = MOAR Fire! Glad to have an Fiery Meleer out there. Enjoy your Tank!
  21. Fiery Melee!! Do it! But I'm bias... or so they say...
  22. Welcome back, join the TankHQ channel to get in on the silliness.
  23. The only comment I have is that the build is light on lower level attacks, which would be an issue if you exemp or plan on running lower level TFs and such.
  24. Of note the Kronos Titan tried to hide in tree so we couldn't get him (pic to follow and it didn't work). I was on MsA's team and we ran Katie and had so much fun taking out Red Caps that we stayed in the last mission clearing them. Then on to PI for another zombie invasions (we had one going just as we exited the Katie TF), and radios. We had several new Tankers joining the event and a few from the Live who were able to join us again. So overall a good times, fun, and many level dings, AND we got to meet some new folks and welcome some returning Tanks to the event. Warboss (Rad/Spines version) is now level 42 (leveled only through TT events)! Kahn? Paging @wittylibrarian to team lead duty...
  25. Everyone is welcome, the only requirement is to be a Tank. All, levels, power sets, etc... just be a Tank. Everlasting is the 3rd Tuesday of each month (see sig - all over this thread). We're on all the servers although Reunion and Victory were added a bit later so we visit them on Saturdays. You're also allowed 5 server transfers a week, so you can move Tanks around as you see fit (note: naming could be an issue as will any SG associations). Tonight is Excel. Hope to see you there! Also send one of us a tell for an invite to TankHQ our Tanker chat channel. TankHQ is a public channel so you can join it using /chan_join TankHQ,
