  1. Elec/Elec I am rebuilding from live.

He was mostly solo - ppl would be super surprised when I teamed, since there was a big 'thing' that stalkers 'sucked' back then. I guess lightning rod is just that flashy :)

Might be interested in leveling up another with a different feel to the play style.

  2. Thinking back to live -it has been a while- I also had around 115-120 end, accolades, percent increases from sets and the like all adding together.

End recovery is percent based so the bigger the number the better - of course that takes away from other set bonuses.

  3. AVs have a much lower resist to IMMOB then the affects that disable. Stack enough ROF and you'll have containment. The Crey pistol can help at the start of an AV fight too - to stack immob faster.

As fire/storm your debuffs are far more important then your direct damage vs AVs.

FR and Tornado are both strong debuffs for defense and can both be set up with the Achilles heel -20% damage resist - which stacks with the -30dr FR has to start.

EG Everyone will hit more often and hit harder when they do - much harder.

  4. Sounds pretty annoying.

While playing get something like pandora or neflix going on that pc. It would be interesting to see if that stops or stalls too - if so could be the network connection on that computer.

Can you update the chipset and ethernet drivers? I am assuming built in ethernet, right? Is it a desktop where you can put in a second ethernet port?

  5. I would love to do Leviathan, but I think I would run into the same END issues as I did with Earth.  Basically, you're gassed after a few moments of fighting.  So fine if you team content, but bad if you like solo farming.  Did you mostly team?

I might be able to make the build more END efficient but at the cost of either less Recharge or less defense.

I am starting the patron arcs right now on my rebuilt Fire/Storm. Hard choice Mu or Leviathan. On live I solo'd a lot - this guy was my farm/inf character. More end reducers can do the trick, your right however it is all about choices -- more -end cost is less something else.

I think I will go Mu till at least 50 - I am using generic IO's for the most part till then. When I start my 50 sets project I'll have to decide which way to go.

The only time I would ever end crash after maxing out my Alpha Slot was while teaming - otherwise wasnt really an issue. Then again Fire/Storm can run out of end on Speed Boost or AM.

  6. Those guys stand out in the sun a lot - I dont know armpit is an improvement....

Unfortunately, it's really hard to fly in at precisely 90° to the 'backstop', so you wind up sliding to one side or the other, and come to a stop mashed up against one or the other of the guards. They seem to be disciplined enough to resist the opportunity to cop a feel, but it's still a bit embarrassing.

I think it would be pretty fair for them to get to enjoy a handful every now and again.

Note - said handful should be limited to beings of legal age in the Paragon jurisdiction. (Currently 16 in Rhode Island - in our 'real' world)

  7. I have a fire/storm/leviathan build on the old forums I liked. Had 3 leadership toggles and the resistance toggle going too.

The alpha was imperative - plus end reducers in some powers like fire cages and hotfeet.

Mu mastery is a good way to do it too - I just really wanted the water spout to go with tornado.

Fire/Storm is an awesome combo. I have also played fire/kin on live and a well played fire/storm can do just as well. They both have pluses.

  8. Exactly what Zep says.

If it were up to me?  I'd put in a new "Identity Verification" podion, with a large obvious handprint scanner, right in the middle of the walkway/door, with guards standing to either side of it.

And it'd be that scanner, that you'd click to go through to the next zone.

I was thinking something along those lines too.

I dont want the poor guards to end up with blue b**** though.

  9. This was never something I thought about until this post...Now I am trying to unthink it every time I zone...

    Um sorry.

No apology needed, I assumed it wasn’t malicious.  Unless it was really a Nemesis plot to put creepy thoughts in my head.  But that seems pretty low for Nemesis.  Unless that’s what Nemesis wants me to think.  But why would he waste his time to get me to think that?  Wait...what if wasn’t Nemesis...

    *does math*

That means Zep is a SEA MONKEY!!!  Wait, I didn’t carry the 4.

Zep is a FAKE NEMESIS!  And it’s all a plot by him!  Orchestrated of course by the real Nemesis.

I've been called a navigational menace and a weather problem (Fire/Storm controller as main) so why not a Fake Nemesis too.

  10. It's just a relic from the olden days of 2004, and such a low priority that nobody wants to spend the time to replace it.

When CoH came out, the Hazard Zones were deliberately placed behind a 'click' barrier because they were dangerous. Travel powers were gated behind level 14 instead of level 4, which meant you couldn't speed around and avoid packs. The packs were huge and dangerous, and the newbies who wandered in would all too easily become smears on the ground. Forcing players to actually acknowledge that they wanted in by clicking was meant to be a sort of 'Are you sure?' check.

These days we get travel powers early on, we know how to navigate zones, and we're all quite knowledgeable about the game so the Hazard Zones are just not hazardous like they used to be. But even with that being the case, why ask the team to spend time and effort in fixing such a tiny, minor non-issue?

I am pretty sure the OP was aware of the above info. I am also pretty sure he was not crying out for it to be fixed RIGHT NOW so much as observing there might be something slightly not PC about the process.

Should the size and exact location of the click box be changed - yes, should it be anything except the lowest possible priority - no.

I am very happy to keep the hazard zone entrances the same as they are now. There is a jenna say qua to many aspects of this world that all add together.

Except, perhaps, for the ERP crowd maybe the door lever in this case could be moved a little higher.

  11. I have two of these - one each in my t1 and t2 attacks. elec/elec Stalker.

Not a ton of healing - it does make a difference on those fights that go down to the wire.

Were I to also stick it in Jacob's Ladder, I know the chance per hit goes down, could I get mult heal procs on a single activation?

Dont know how AOE and procs work since the changes.

  12. One time is a fluke -- establish a highly accurate count over 32+ missions with the exact same number of players and other particulars and then minimal statistical accuracy can start to be established.

It is human nature to remember that one time that was awful and forget the unremarkable times because they didnt get your attention enough for every day brain functions to stare them.

After getting home from work most people cant tell you what they had for breakfast, what the drive to or from work was like, but boy oh boy if McDonalds or whatever messed up the order for Coffee and hash Browns you'll remember that till the day you die.

  13. Like many I would love to see the game back in development in a way that works with all the established communities. If it is ever possible to come out of the grey legally and ethically I could see subs being a thing.

At which point are you hiring? Can I put in an app now? I have a very good job now this would be a dream job though.

  14. I have a system that should be able to host the parsing - I think, but I would not be able to host a web site once it goes online.

I have -or am supposed to have- 980 down and 40 up.

As you say, the parsing is just one small part of it. I would like to see the old forums hosted with the new, just cleaner and easier that way. If you pay for bandwidth are you prepared to have up to 100k users doing searches in a given week/day?

Is there a HC Dev available to give us input please? I've read you are looking for new forum software, could the old stuff be set read only and incorporated with the new build? Wouldn't even need an additional server or anything except maybe a bigger HD.
