  1. Disney bought marvel in 2009, while this game was still in live owned and operated by NC Soft.
  2. See this is what all the streamers say is how they want to share their love of the game. However if you are that popular and have that many fans cant this be done by encouraging those fans to actually get in game with you and play your favorite game with you instead of just contributing to your monetization by watching your play? What i feel people are really saying is "Hey i love playing COH and would love to gouge its players for more subscription dollars on twitch if i was allowed to do so" cause it cost those fans nothing to be told "hey this is a great game, i am gonna be online playing it, character name x, make and acct and download "HERE" and come join me. It seems like it used to be "Come play with me" and now it is more "watch me play and subscribe"
  3. Here is the thing, it is all about what you want to play with. You are dead set on doing Plant as a primary and that is a strong primary. It has a quick repeatable cast on seeds of confusion as your workhorse AOE control. Both Fire and Psi would probably pair well with it. But frankly they pair well with almost anything. Fire you can crank hot feet and chill in melee spamming flashfire and ciders to keep control and still have strong single target attacks. And Psi is much the same way. Both have nice end control but frankly if the goal is to farm by level 50 then you are going perma dom and you are getting a fresh end bar every minute or so anyway. So frankly my standard approach is to normally 3 slot stamina with 2 mods and 1 PerShift proc, and 3 slot health with Panc, miracle, and Numinia. If i get my perma dom up and still feel that i need the help then i do cardiac and just half the cost of all my end costs again in my incarnates. So really IMO no dom is to tough on end really for that to be to big of a concern. I have a plant/earth that farms +__4/8 just fine. No end issues or anything. I know people talk about fire and firey embrace with rain of fire, but frankly for doms i mostly go with either the Ice or Mace mastery sets as a patron/epic. Both offer defense which i like more then the resistances in the other sets. Mace offers it right up front which is nice for power choices, and ice you have to take sleet but that gives like and AOE of -20 or so on damage resistances. So more then worth taking to get the defense armor. Plus then if you have space ice storm is a nice AOE for damage also. At least i would say as good as FE cranked rain of fire. Quite frankly the real pain in any domiantor set comes down to killing harder targets like the +4 bosses. I mean all doms can perma hold them, its killing them that gets to be the pain in the ass. And earth has i think the biggest selection of heavy hitting ST attacks for that, but also has the fissure attack for AOE, plus then add in sleet and ice storm and you are really getting everything you need. Another option is to maybe go a different route. I have a fire/dark dom that i totally love. He has all the control i need to dominate mobs at +4/8 (in missions i dont really farm with him but he might be able to) And i get the AOE of hot feet plus the damage from Imps, and though dark might not hit as heavey it has a couple melee attacks that are nice and the AOE debuffs tohit chances so basically makes just standing in melee range totally safe. That toon i have soloed most AVs you can get to solo. Doms are not for everyone but every dom is a bit different. So make one, and play with it. If you like it then your likely going to want to make another, make that one different. Most people i know that like doms end up with 5-6 of them at least. So i wouldnt get to worried about what one is first.
  4. Yet we also have to look at fair in terms of the over all game and its intended goal. The goal is that we should have people in game playing, making alts, leveling up, teaming and having fun. Yet we had people PL and farm and market their way to completed characters. Which frankly i have no problem with. But we nerfed farming by about 50 percent, didnt change game play rewards, and left marketing alone. So now if someone wants to build a character from farming it is much more time consuming, and that is play time. I have to actually take part and use my time to farm, so i would say at least right now that is fair. If i play the standard game as intended (missions, tf etc) I am at the biggest disadvantage for earning money to complete my toon because the time it takes to earn the influence and merits is much longer. If i market i can make whatever toon i want maybe investing 7-8 hours of time into setting up sales and buys and converting product and still spend the rest of my time playing doing whatever i wish. So exactly how is that fair and equitable to say that marketing doesnt need to be beaten with a nerf bat to bring it down in line with the earning potential of other in game choices of time use? Every IO recipe has a price at the store they sell for. A recipe that sells for 10k to a vendor even crafted should not be netting a player 4-6m on the markets. So at minimum i think everything that has a merit price in game should have that cost cut in half right now. Nothing would be over 50 merits. Plus the hero packs should be cut in cost. Then lock convertor use for only personal IOs. Now the market becomes less a tool to exploit other players for your own gains and EVERY player in the game has an easier time completing toons by playing as the game intended.
  5. Personally i hate the market and always have. I say find a fair fixed price for recipes and Enhancements like a hancer of winter or purple is worth 15m (cap winter lord packs to 15m to equal this) and appropriately lower their cost with merits. Cap pvp and ATO to 10m, then cap yellow to 1-4 million and orange from 4-6m depending on their schedule. So you get things you dont use you can sell them to make some money but not 2b a week money. And the prices are low enough that everyone can deck out any toon they want to with the same amount of equal effort without having to play markets stealing influence from other players. Then you get rid of convertors as a commodity in the game. Sure you can use them personally, but no more sales they are account bound maybe. And the same thing with converted hancers. Yes you can buy convertors and use them to convert your own owned enhancements to whatever you want like now. However the first time you run the convertor on the hancer it becomes account bound. It can now not be sold or used by toons other then your own on that account. It makes convertors capable of doing what the intention was, to roll the dice on making something better or more useful for yourself, but removes the ability to use them to profit off turning crap into rare drops that again just net the abuser tons or rewards for little input. So yeah i think find a fair profit margin for the market and cap things at it. I know this means that things will always sell for the max but frankly if the cost is fair what does that matter unless you were trying to abuse the auction system to begin with. And stop making convertors more important then influence. Make it so they can be used for your personal use but not for profit. This game existed with out a market, it was never intended to have one. We all lived just fine going to the store and buying what we needed and selling what we didnt. There is no reason why a market that allows a few to make piles of influence doing nothing but converting and reselling should be allowed. The only reason why anyone would need to make 2b a week is because we allow things to be priced so highly that it can cost a billion to fully deck out a character. We didnt need that much when there were only SOs at set prices, and we could all make whatever character and max it out eventually we wanted. Dont see why we cant do that again if we get rid of the market money hoarders and keep wealth in the game a direct reflection of the time and effort that is put into playing a character instead of a couple billion fora couple hours of marketing.
  6. So before the new issue went live i had about 7 or so boss Overseers to finish off killing to earn the visionary badge. It is said in the notes that the badge was being changed to include credit for killing the lower level mobs making the goal 500 points 5 for bosses, and 1 for lower ranks. And said that progress would be converted. Well 93x5 should be 465 points of that 500. But i got nothing at all. I have 3 new badge counters for Brutes, Natterlings, and what is called Sentries, which are the eyeballs, but when i went to start earning the brute/natterling badges realized that i was also starting over from scratch on the sentry badges as well. So how do i get my progress back. GMs say they cant help me?
  7. I think I personally would rather the devs spend time on creating new challenging content then figuring out ways to simply lock content behind made up walls keeping it locked away.
  8. On live the pocket D VIP Gold Club was a badge that was only granted by either buying the box or upgrading through NC Soft to the Good V Evil edition of the game. It granted access to the gold lounge and gave you Pocket D vIp Teleporter that brought you into the tiki room. Homecoming not having those updates from the past, awards the badge for Gold Member based on spending time in Pocket D rather then purchasing an upgrade for your account. They award that teleport power for free through the P2W vendor if you have that badge. It is the same power as the one in the Good Vs Evil edition. It is the same badge that can be earned. And on live it was earned and activated for your entire account at once. So again, we get that it is not being done this way, and has not been done this way on Homecoming. But my comment was more so that there is no reason why it should not be done that way being that would be much more in line with how it was award on live rather then having to earn it on every character you make.
  9. I dont think it is asking to much. The pocket d teleporter was originally a code that gave you the portal account wide. Dont see why its replacement cant be.
  10. Ok i am now at the point of trying to wrap my head around things so i can set up characters to have the most done before these things go live. But i have questions. First of all, the two day job changes that grant a Day Job base teleport and portal power require what badges exactly? Is it patroller and monitor duty? So if i have a character that i have bought the pocket D teleporter for, does that purchase convert to the LRTP power with the new issue, or do i just lose it and have to earn the 1 hour badge in Pocket D to get the LRTP that way? (or with travel accolade) Guess what i am wondering is do i unlock LRTP just dropping cash at the p2w vendor or do i need to get an accolade or do the 1 hour in purgatory. Now it looks like from the pictures that have been put up that ALL the travel options are on that menu regardless of it you have earned them or not. That grey ones are unavailable due to not having them or being on cool down? So if this is right, will the beta countdown powers continue to work on the powers in this popup window or will they just remain grey until they recharge? I ask because it would be nice to know without having to leave the base powers in my main bar how much time is left on cooldown. For things like team teleport that still have long cooldowns. I think that is it for now.
  11. Does this require being on line for 5 hours in pocket D or just like a day job can you log off? Cause frankly i never found much of interest there outside of christmas time events. So related the Pocket D vip teleport is availible for 1m at p2w vendor if you have not gotten that badge. Will that convert to the LRTP once the issue is live if it is bought? And if it doesnt will we get anything for that power once it is removed either the million back or it converts to the 1m base teleporter etc. I have some toons i bought that one just wondering if it is a waste or a quick way to get going on the new system. Sorry if that was answered i have not seen it yet.
  12. Honestly no i have not. Because frankly my biggest problem with the changes is for personal reasons that I already know i have, and would still apply on the test server. I sent a comment to Faultline today about it directly because i didnt really feel i wanted personal business on the public forums but fine whatever i guess. There are bigs parts of this game i can simply just not see anymore. My sight has always been challenged but in the 7 years this game was down i guess it got even worse then i remember it being. So where people might say LRTP is no big deal you only have to get one badge and one accolade. Well to most it might not be, to me i can not see icons on the map anymore. They dont have enough contrast for me to know what is what to track down badges on the vidiots overlays. This is why i only badged one character and it took me about 3 weeks to systematically work through the city to do what i used to be able to do in an afternoon. Having to rely on memory and looking up coordinates and trying to track them down that way or hoping the pictures on the wikis gave me a enough of a memory boost to remember where the badges were. So when the devs seem to say they dont consider it is a problem that we have one power that cost money and one power that doesnt and that SHOULD cover everyones needs, I feel like no, i really dont have those options. I tried badging 1 badge in every zone on a fresh toon and one accolade to fully open LRPT it took me about 3 and a half hours. Times 26ish characters that i play, that is alot of time i wont have to put into opening up what the devs consider to be one of the most balancing workhorse powers in this new jumble of teleport powers. I get and understand that things are not always going to be easy for me. And nothing is owed to me. However i dont think it is to much to ask that is something is going to be changed that does affect me in a adverse way to be told why it has to be. Example, i have a Bio Armor character, but i am not in the power set changes threads arguing about changes that might lower that sets ability because i can understand how having one armor set that is viewed as superior to the rest is a bad thing. All i have asked for here is to understand why when this game operated just fine with a no limit base teleport for over a year, why suddenly i have to lose that when the exploits can be fixed without losing it. And no one has really explained why that is the case beyond, because the devs wanted to. And it isnt like i am saying no limits. But i figure what if LRTP is not going to be as useful to me as other players i dont see why the base teleporter can not be up every 5 minutes for players. I figure between base teleporter, Ouro portal running every 5 minutes i can likely get around with just a slightly more difficult time then i can now. I even did pose to Faultline in my message maybe adding a common new explore badge to every zone at the public base portal. They dont have to be tied to accolades but could give credit for the LRTP of having a zones badge so that people like me that might have a difficult time badging in open zones know automatically where at least 1 badge is in every zone. But as of right now it feels like even the devs consider the LRTP to be a large part of why they feel this system is balanced. And for me anyway, that will likely be a less then useful power without spending maybe even months of play time opening it up on my characters.
  13. Accept the beta puts evidence in the game that what people are most asking for works just fine. A teleport button with a short animation to take us to the base with a 5min or less recharge. They added a teleport button to take you to your base that originally had a 10 second recharge that they have since lowered to 2 second, that originally had i think it was a 20 or 30 minute recharge they lowered to 10. So what we want exists already all they have to do is adjust the recharge time on it.
  14. So thanks for confirming, there is no reason then they have the ability to make our game play more tedious therefore its ok for them to. Got it.
  15. I have like 27 characters all with t4 incarnates and have never once joined a itrial in pocket D, every single one of them was joined in ouro.
  16. Then prove it. I mean you stand by them that is fine, all any of this is asking for is prove why it is to OP and cant be done. The slash command is gone, i got it, i dont disagree at all with removing exploits. They introduce 3-5 powers that demand time badges (something easier for some then others) spent influence, (something easier for some to earn then others) and generally for no better description time logged off (something that is quite frankly the stupidest game mechanic any dev has ever introduced going all the way back to when day jobs were introduced) So according to our devs these all allow for something like 2 twice as many teleports then we commonly used with the slash command per hour. But again that is only true if you have them all right? But that is another issue. So assuming we have them all, why is having all 5 "good" but having one free unlock that gives me teleport to my base for me alone every 5 minutes (which seems to be the base people want because it makes it like ouro) why is that "bad". And by why i mean give me a reason other then opinion. We have heard influence sinks, however influence sinks are most likely to punish players most that dont have influence, you know those that dont farm, or market and just try to play the base game and enjoy themselves. We hear making us earn it, well why, we dont earn ouro portals now. We just reach a level and ask someone to open one and get a easily found badge, or we go to our base and run 1 fast misson through the pillar etc. Not to mention i am not earning anything when i am logged off not even playing but that eventually grants me two of the teleport powers plus more uses for them. The Ouro portal allows you to jump to what 4-5 zones instantly on a 5 minute recharge a couple of them being very useful zones like peregrine and talos the later of which is totally a travel hub to get anywhere as has been pointed out. So why is traveling to talos every 5 minutes with no time or investment not breaking the game, but traveling to my base every 5 minutes off one power given sudden shatter the game?
  17. When you take the exploit out of consideration for needing to get rid of the slash command, because no one is arguing to leave and exploit in the game, the slash command was one of the best QoL improvements this game ever had. Sure there are a few in any group that will argue they dont like it, and a few more that will argue against it cause they are just people that will never NOT defend the devs in this game. But even the original posts asking for the fix for pvp and motf runs said they love the slash command and wanted to keep it otherwise then the exploits that were known at that time. So i get at times we have to give up things we like, all i expect is a reason why. Even for big things if you can explain why if i can see the logic i am fine with it. I could even see why things like enhancement diversification was needed. But as of yet NO ONE seems to be able to point to a solid reason why this change is needed to the travel aspects of the slash command. Sure they can point out the exploits and the super secret exploit to rule them all, however it seems like fixes are available that leaves MOST of what everyone liked about the slash command and removes its exploitability. Yet all we get for the reasoning behind the overkill on the fix is because you all worked some magic and decided how many times we use the exploit and for some other reason decided to match that with 3 powers instead of one. But you have never given a reason why one power was broken? You can go into the game files and pull all this information out to determine how many times we use it and how often, but i see no evidence presented for why having one power that has a limited recharge of 5 minutes, that is an unlock everyone can get for free is "not happening" Well why, what has your data mining indicated will break if it was to happen? I mean cause it has been happening for over a year, and i have not seen one complaint from players about it beyond what i have stated already. So why? Why do the devs considering allowing the players to have what they have asked for and enjoyed for over a year is not and option any longer and by why i mean what would it break in game play?
  18. Check, base teleporter is used by means of having a base with teleporters that my character activates when he wants to go to his base. Now you are making things up. Fly has no recharge time, or at least it is barely nothing, as does SJ, SS or standard Teleport. All the p2w travel runs have no recharge, all the jump packs, all the jet packs. And just to point out the slash command which was "Allowed to be used until an equitable solution could be found" also had no recharge time. And for a year and a half that was not a problem. Again free beast run with sprint is essentially SS with better vertical. Same thing with Ninja Run. Jet packs cost little to nothing. And ok sure you earn a level at which you pick a travel power, however back in the live days i knew NO ONE that did take a travel power. Where as now it is very common to find people that decide to skip a travel power because they find the freebies at p2w vendors can do well enough when their power selection or slotting gets tight. This one i will give you. You are right. Instantly disappearing was a bit borked. However as has been said everytime people make this point and is now just gleefully being ignored it seems, no one is saying to leave the slash command open or to use its same mechanic. So, base teleporter is grounded in the game world. It is an extension of the functionality of your base and its teleport system. As such it can port you at will to your base. Just the same way a public base teleporter does, or the teleporters that take you to auction houses, or to contact to start a TF in the LFG menu. It is in game already, it is a mechanic. However while you all seem to think it should be limited just no reason then just it should be. Most of us are saying why? Are the justice League told that can not be teleported because they have ran out of charges, or it has been to recently since their last teleport? What about star trek? For a year and half we had a "sloppy" power by your standards. Did the game suffer? I mean seriously have we been riddled with complaints of people quit playing because to many people got to teleport to their bases to often? Cause i have not seen one. Have we seen a run of threads about how people are quitting because they think it is to easy to move around the city? I have not seen one. The devs are working with a game where teleportation exists already. I get butting limits on simply popping from mission door to mission door. But i dont think popping into your own person base should be hard to do, or be limited and is hardly sloppy so long as they make a power which explains it. And they did. They just want to add in random influence costs and use limitations for absolutely no good reason. That is what is sloppy. I mean from a story stand point, if i have built a base and built transporters to take me all over the city, why would i not build the little button dongle for my key chain that ports me to my base at will? This system is like if i got a "free" garage door opener but then after they install it say "that will be 1m dollars for the clicker to open it." And so i pay the one million dollars and then am told "yeah but you can only use it every 10 minutes but if you need more then that go on this scavenger hunt, or just sit at home for 7 days and we will let you open it more often." Talk about sloppy reasoning and mechanics.
  19. And then just imagine when Batman calls up to the Watch Tower and say i just beamed down to the Joker's warehouse and snuck in and found his plans, he is at Gotham City Hall right now getting ready to gas the entire city council, beam me to the down town district. And Mr Terrific tells him "sorry bats, it has only been 7 minutes since we last ported you, you are gonna need to wait 3 more minutes."
  20. Dude again you are not reading, it requires at least 4 days of not playing to earn it and at least 7 days off line at current recharge rates to earn a fill up on uses. The day job powers should not even be considered into the equation for balancing any adjustment to the travel dynamic. No new character will have them. And frankly what the hell do you even make a new character for it not to want to play it and let it sit around. You can say that power is an equalizer all you want, it is not.
  21. once again, NO ONE is suggesting to leave a command in the game that is exploitable. NO ONE. However the very first power on the list of teleports is a p2w vendor base teleport power isnt it? It is costing players 1m influence, a cost new players wont have to pay and other players might not be able to afford. It has a recharge of 10 minutes, which is quite an increase then having no recharge. And to make up for that recharge requires badges, more influence spending NOT PLAYING MY CHARACTER so i can earn powers and charges. Yeah that is right i am being now incentivized to NOT play the game. So look a little more closely. If that base teleport power is being added it obviously has no exploitability within it. So put it at a 1-5 minutes recharge and give it away as a free p2w vendor power like like beast run, or ninja run, or the other free things offered there. And then guess what, players have lost nothing, they having nothing more required from them and there is no more exploit. Why is that such a problem? No one is offering a valid reason for it to be. Even if you dont like the power to begin with, well just like everything else in this game, just because it is there if you dont like it dont use it. But right now it is there, and soon will not be. And acting like it would be impossible to replace it equally with no exploit is just a useless conversation to have because we both know it could be. In fact it has been, they just set the recharge to high.
  22. There is a big difference to going anywhere instantly and your super group base. For a year and a half we have been able to go to our super group bases with no limits imposed. One day soon we will not be able to. That is a valid subject for gripes considering ABSOLUTELY no reason has been given for why it is needed. Has it broke the current game allowing the travel aspect of the slash command to remain usable? No. So no matter how many half steps given to us, there is absolutely no reason why we could not have been given 1 power that worked just as functionally as what we had. We, or most of us, are not 12 years old. "Because i said so" is not a valid reason anymore.
  23. Considering your last major change cut my influence earning by like 45 percent or so this is possible the worst rational for these changes that could have been put forward. I mean seriously if you want to infl sink then make powers worth getting that are new or charge way more for things people do buy that cause other problem like the buffs that just compound power creep even worse then it already is
  24. Wouldn't proof of concept be that no game currently requires time sink things like travel to be considered game play any longer. Even in a open sandbox game like Gta, zelda, RDR that do require you to spend time traveling it's a means of involving you in side quests and other content. Some ar its base coh was not designed to do and not sure it can be added in the same way. Traveling in coh was always a time sink. Longer it took to travel longer you subscribed. But off today's gaming standards this game would never fly to just force long boring segments of travel between every 5 minute mission.
  25. So by this comment for over the last year none of us have been playing city of heroes cause we had an at will base teleport with no cool down? As has been pointed out the slash command only took you to your base. You still had to transport to a zone and use a travel power from there. I consider that I have still been playing city of heroes since april 2019. I have just enjoyed it even more since finding out about the slash command.
