  1. My 1st lvl50 toon here (or ... ever, actually) was a Mind/Emp that was one of my favorites from live play and was basicallly driven by the theme. Meta had changed a lot in the meantime, so I wasn't aware that this was considered a "sub-par" combo nowadays. But I wouldn't have cared anyway, I liked playing this toon and enjoyed the ride. And you will, too, if you love your concept and just roll with it. A few thoughts: A) Mind Control - Besides the ST high recharge Confuse, Mind gets a strong AoE, only Nature has a similar one IIRC. Use it. - Fear, Holds and said Confuses makes it strong in lockdown. Add in the ST and AoE Sleeps on off-focus mobs or ambushers, it is Stop-Motion-Central. - As mentioned, the 3 initial ST attacks make for a solid early level weapons arsenal. - Stay away from the Repel power, as it is awfully endurance-inefficient. Although it can be fun to use for "repositioning angry mobs" 🙂 B) Empathy - The buffs are what makes this thing click. Healing is just a by-product in case a teammate gets redbar frequently, keep an eye on them. - Buffs are strong and will be appreciated by every team. But so will be Heals, even if the current meta is something along the lines of "every toon is self-sufficient and doesn't need to be healed. I have been on enough low, mid and high level teams where you see some of your mates getting their behinds kicked regularly (not everyone is driving 500Mil Purple Builds on every toon). Saving one that would otherwise been going down still feels very satisfying every time it happens. That being said, this is most enjoyable when you team up. Going solo can be an enervating experience and is just naturally slow, even by Controller standards. So do it, take your 3 hours in the Character Creator, build your toon, spend another hour looking for a name that's cool but not taken, go out there, find a team and save the city. You will enjoy it. No reason to be afraid of Mind/Emp if that's what fits your concept best! My toon is now Vet Level 63 with full incarnate powers and a ridiculous build that makes him feel just as ridicoulosly overpowered as every other toon I played to that level!
  2. Haven't checked it yet, but just from looking over it I think I like that. Mu Mastery actually sounds like a decent fit, and I always appreciate more pets. I will run it through MIDS when I come home, and maybe tweak it for some Overpowering Presence and see what it does. But overall it may just get me to where I want to be. Thank you. EDIT: Still waiting for the last IOs to fall out of the auctionhouse, but so far this is as advertised. It plays exactly as intended, and is going to be even mor efun when fully assembled. I made a few minor adjustments for theme, at the cost of a few fractional % of optimization. Overall, fun build for the 1st Illusion Controller I have seriously taken to the shop.
  3. Great, I take a look. Experimentation is not really a Must, I just thought it might be nice to use something different for a change. I think getting PA to Perma (or at least close to) and having robust defense is the main idea with this...
  4. Well, what the title says... Any ideas what can be improved or see anything broken? I know it is not a highly synergetic power combo, but I enjoy it nonetheless.   9. Did you guys in NA already switch the Daylight Savings Time? I know that you are always a little ahead of europe, where this will happen only next week. So just wondering at what time you are planning to run this weekend, to make sure we account for this change if needed.

  13. @TrixieKixx I have readied Battle Priestess Vea, Arachnos Soldier-soon-to-become-Crab-Spider for this. Just need to think of a way how to make her full-powered-battle-armor look spy-like... EDIT: Decided on another toon that goes better with the theme. I will bring Arachnoir for the sinister spy part of this. Maybe, with this being such a short SF, we can have another go-around with a 2nd group of toons. Vea still would like to get her own Flames to toy around with. For the Wizards Weakness Tip, you have to run Sharkhead, right? Although the Tip mission itself is in Cap. And one of these days I seriously need to learn how to play those VEATs. I have completely ignored them so far...
  14. I throw in my try at this, for whatever it is worth. Not a pro, but I absolutely fell in love with that toon and its probably going to be my next 50. I actually play here as a relentless Blapper, assaulting into mobs with the Spring Attack and then hitting AoEs like there's no tomorrow. And then see what's left standing... So, softcapped Ranged and Melee Def was the primary goal, then take it from there... Am a little bit concerned about the level of endu consumption, but hey... where's the fun without the challenge.   18. Just wondering, aren't the Winter Packs supposed to go down in price for the winter time events? Been watching for the price drop, but every time I checked they were still going for 25M... Am I too early? Have I missed something?
  19. THanks for the write up! I think I recently stumbled across a comment somewhere else that mentioned the endurance drain effect of attacks and recharge, which I never really thought about. All my powers above a certain endu cost usually get some kind of reduction slotted, and I put all the neccessary parts into Stamina. But I used to walk into that same trap you mention here, focussing on bringing the toggles down while probably underslotting on the heavy hitters. Must say however that once a toggle comes in the 0,5/s and above range, I found that this IS noticable and needs some form of workable mitigation. Focussed Accuracy being the worst offender here, to the point that I have respecced out of it at times...

Or is anybody of your brutes going to take him on? @FrauleinMental @Midnyte Just in case, I have prepped Panzeropteryx, a Shield / Superstrength Tank in his vintage power armor. If I am not needed for tanking, I will bring Magmasaurus, my Water / Thermal Corruptor.
