  1. I had tequila working using WINETRICKS before... I tried to follow the Lutris instructions here, but Lutris fails on startup. When I start it from the command line I get this (with the middle junk removed for clarity). I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling Lutris. Same thing... Maybe something else needs to be updated?? There is nothing in the directory noted... but why not? Is it supposed to be installed, or maybe created on first run but doesn't have permissions? Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/games/lutris", line 54, in <module> from lutris.gui.application import Application # pylint: disable=no-name-in-module File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/lutris/gui/application.py", line 53, in <module> from .lutriswindow import LutrisWindow File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/lutris/gui/lutriswindow.py", line 26, in <module> from lutris.gui.widgets.sidebar import LutrisSidebar File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/lutris/gui/widgets/sidebar.py", line 6, in <module> from lutris import platforms, runners, services File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/lutris/platforms.py", line 19, in <module> _init_platforms() File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/lutris/platforms.py", line 14, in _init_platforms runner = runners.import_runner(runner_name)() File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/lutris/runners/wine.py", line 229, in __init__ "default": dxvk.DXVKManager().version, File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/lutris/util/wine/dxvk.py", line 56, in version return self.versions[0] File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/lutris/util/wine/dxvk.py", line 45, in versions self._versions = self.load_dxvk_versions() File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/lutris/util/wine/dxvk.py", line 65, in load_dxvk_versions with open(versions_path, "r") as dxvk_version_file: FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/home/chuck/.local/share/lutris/runtime/dxvk/dxvk_versions.json' I tried just downloading hclauncher.exe, and right clicking on that... so far it has installed some other things like MONO (which allows for dot net stuff to run), and then something about Gecko, and now the HomeComing launcher is running and downloading files. I'm not sure if it will allow me to LAUNCH or not. I guess we will see!
  2. I'm having the same issue. Three of my favorite names from live have been taken by others, and they are not reachable via forums (not taking private messages), and are NEVER online. These folks are obviously just name squatters, not active players. Please do your ACTIVE player base a favor and enact the expiration policy. Don't favor a bunch of inactive people over your active player base. We don't need any of the work-arounds suggested above, we just need you to enact the proposed releases of names.
  3. everything worked in steel canyon once I switched to hero, so that would be my advice to others having the issue. Once I changed alignment back to rogue it stayed...
  4. No fanfare, but I see the badge under Invention
  5. for others having this issue it seems to be something about switching alignments. switch to hero and do the steel canyon version, then switch back.
  6. I tried to start this at level 49 as a villain who has switched to rogue and then back to villain via Null the Gull. Dean John Yu basically scolds me and doesn't offer the mission. Is there any way to do this mission? I did everything else needed for the master crafter badge and spent 30m infamy doing that, so I am not too happy about not being able to get the badge.
  7. Well i wanted to start the invention tutorial at level 49 on one of mine and it seems maybe there is a level cap. I couldn't get the mission. It seems like this should be part of the ouro mission list or something, or it should just cap you to level 25 for it if needed, like a task force will do.
  8. I'm minorly annoyed that several of my best character names (from live) have been taken, even though we have far fewer folks. Is there any way to check which names be are taken WITHOUT logging into the game and trying to use them? I guess I am suggesting a web based way to check character name availability
  9. Thanks Jimmy. Maybe I'm being dense here but is there a way to link to the actual donation spot?
  10. I'm sure it's been asked before, but how about recipe storage beyond donkey toons and the "held" tab of the market.
  11. Additional little note... the 50 version of mine will probably take one slot from Stamina and keep the KB->KD proc in Nova. I removed one IO to see how I fared, and my endurance is almost always still capped with energize on auto-fire. Nova as an alpha-strike is a good way to contribute on teams, but not if the tank's groupies go flying...
  12. Mine is currently 47, and very easy to play on +0/2 or +1/2 solo, or with any competent group just hang back and blast single targets. I played through so many story arcs that I ended up with about 800 merits at level 47. I've already bought the Ragnarok and Armeggedon sets I plan to slot at 50, and I'm working on the merits for the SUPERIOR blaster sets. I basically slotted for recharge first then ranged defense. I use the celerity stealth in sprint so I can sneak into the middle of a group when SS and sprint are both on. Then I nova and use whatever attacks are up to finish off any misses or harder targets. Where this doesn't work you can target a mob in the middle, hit aim, buildup, F to follow, then Nova. Nova is up every 30 seconds or so, and Aim and Buildup every 12-ish. You can insta-snipe twice during one aim+buildup cycle, so what I usually do when nova is down is hover near the group, aim, buildup, snipe, power burst, power blast, snipe again (just before the yellow ring disappears), then just cycle power burst/blast until everything is dead. I use hover mostly to keep ground-based mobs at ranged where my defense is strongest. If you get surrounded by too many mobs, you can go vertical, or fire off nova, EB or ET to knock some back, and throw a few melee attacks at the ones nearby while waiting for the ranged attacks to recycle. There can be a lot of juggling when a large group is at melee, but you can also toggle on PFF and retreat. There are lots of ways to stay alive while dealing decent damage. You don't really need the 3 slots in stamina if you keep energize on auto-fire. I took out one of the IOs to check, and my endurance is almost always full no matter what I do. I may actually remove another to see how that works. As far as knockback to knockdown, it's not global, and knockback doesn't matter at all when solo (in fact it's useful). So that slot from stamina that I don't really need will probably be in Nova for the Sudden Acc. proc plus Armageddon set of 5. If you are in a group and tend to stay on one target until its dead, knockback is a non-issue. You'll be cleaning up your own messes. If you always alpha-strike with nova and scatter the tank's groupies, I think I'd be upset at you too... So maybe put the proc in Nova, but elsewhere its kind of wasteful and maybe even stupid. Short answer: DO IT! It's kill, kill, kill, kill fun. My builds are posted here: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,5976.0.html
  13. Sarabraxus at 50, I'll be switching out the blaster sets with the SUPERIOR versions, giving me +1.25% and +2.5% recharge, and +1.25% and +1.88% ranged defense; switching Nova from Sudden Accel/6 into Armaggedon/5, giving me +2.5% recharge (note that you lose the knockback-to-knockdown proc in doing so); switching EB from Positron's Blast to Ragnarok, giving me +3.75% recharge; switching Health from the Numina proc to the Miracle proc, giving me more recovery; switching Energize from Panacea/5 to Numina/6, losing 8.75% recharge but gaining 3.75% ranged defense; Net result of all those changes: still perma-hasten, but almost 7% more ranged defense (38% with no toggles, >45% with Weave and CJ on) The purples will add to overall accuracy, so it's a little easier to get insta-snipe as well, and more damage in the most-used attacks. 14. Here is my up-to-50 build for Sarabraxus. She will have perma-hasten at 48, and ranged defense resting at 31%, 41% with hover/weave/CJ toggles on (although I usually run without hover) Emphasis is on recharge first (without sacrificing damage in ranged attacks), and ranged defense second. Kill them before they kill you is a valid if unconventional survival strategy. I find that when a group of more than 4 or 5 mobs closes to melee, I often hit V which toggles on hover, then go up above. Lots of mobs must resort to ranged, and that gives me more defense. But I like having energy torrent and EB for knocking them back too. I rearranged this build specifically to add on-the-fly, which is why the slot levels are this way. I'll post the slightly improved at-50 build next Hero Plan by Mids' Hero Designer 2.22 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! 15. As an energy blaster I use my auto-fire for "energize", and I currently have to hit hasten whenever I'm about to jump into a fight and notice it's available. It would be really nice if it would turn into a pseudo-auto power once the recharges from sets and enhancements are at the right level where it could otherwise be "perma".
  16. Actually, it works out better to remove one of the Zephyr pairs and slot up Weave with 2 more defenses, like the below. It's less set bonus ranged defense, but then more overall defense (including ranged). So with Weave and CJ active like I normally leave them, this is 39.2% ranged defense, and then some more regen from the 2x bonus of LotG set. 17. I also totally disagree with skipping hasten. You want buildup, aim, energize, and lots of other powers to be back up as soon as possible for maximum burn!
  18. I'll throw mine in just for kicks... the philosophy was: perma-hasten first, then ranged defense as high as I could push it, all non-purple (although there is Panacea, so 1 PVP set) I put Sudden Acceleration in Nova to squash the knockback (while getting 7.5% recharge), but Kinetic Crash in Energy Torrent (since that's my "back off, jerks" button). I took Force Mastery just because it allowed for another LotG, another Stupify, and a power to put one of the DEF+3% procs into without using a slot. Worth noting too that a Celerity Stealth proc in Sprint negates the need for the Concealment Pool's Stealth. I do a lot of sneaking by turning on SuperSpeed plus Sprint.
