Focused Feedback: Emotes, Costumes and Bases
Dispari replied to Booper's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Definitely seconding that, it makes a lot more sense to have it available for people wearing glasses. And being detail 1 prevents things like fins and horns. -
Totally off topic but I super agree, would love a cold damage interface. Anyway, on topic, as others said travel powers just don't need that much slotting. The existing sets are all 3-pieces, should not these ones be as well?
-
Okay, here we go real quick. Ice Mistral: I like this one, it has good set bonuses and it has a cold damage proc. It nearly hits the 95% damage number and I could easily see people using it in place of stuff like Decimation or Crushing Impact. Only real downside is not many people can slot this set. Now, on to the travel ones... hoo boy. I'm gonna go with "good idea but badly executed." First of all, the set bonuses are pretty meh. I suppose the 4-slot bonuses are pretty large RES values but I'm not over here 4-slotting my travel powers without good reason, you know? And since they're all different you're probably funneling minmaxers toward jump-based sets for that big S/L bonus. I doubt people are going to excitedly flock to that range bonus teleport gets. Maybe they should just all top off with the S/L? People aren't going to 4-slot two different travel powers. And if they do, whatever. But more importantly, the uniques are lackluster. If I go for a unique in my travel power, it really needs to wow me. Something like LotG, Zephyr KB protect, Winter's Gift, or stealth is going in that slot otherwise. Most of these only apply in niche situations, like only when I'm being debuffed by something specific, and the powers they're in have to be on. For fly or jump maybe you can put them in Hover and Combat Jumping, but since they won't go in Swift, Hurdle, or Sprint, the run one would have to go in something like Super Speed. So, I only get that bonus while Super Speed is on? So never in combat at all? So, first off I'd say, these should be global bonuses that are always on. And secondly, they need to be better. Yeah, I know that they're paired with a move speed bonus, so you're still halfway boosting your travel power, but does that make it worth it? I don't think so. I'm not scrambling to find a slot for 8 feet of jump height. I would love it if these sets were better. I would love it if I felt a serious temptation to slot these sets. To start I'd probably say the run resist needs to be 40%, if not 60%. I mean, warwolves zip around with 100% resist to run, jump, and recharge. Those jerks.

I wonder, could we possibly get a version of the /afk command that DOES NOT reply to tells? Something like /afknoreply or whatever. On RP servers especially, people use this slash command to denote when they're typing, so other people around them know. But replying to tells is nearly always useless at best and can be problematic if two people's AFK messages trigger off each other in an infinite loop and cause the people to be muted by the server. I wouldn't ask for an entirely new system just for this sort of "I'm typing" functionality, but this basic change would make it a lot more usable for the purpose people already use it.

I don't actually know if this is a bug or not, but it might be an overlooked power. For Arachnos soldiers, they have access to an AoE immobilize power called Wide Area Web Grenade. After the pass a while back that made it so immobilize powers no longer prevent knockdown, that concept was phased out of basically all similar powers. This one still has that element though. Is that intentional or just something that got missed?

issue 27 Patch Notes for May the 4th (be with you), 2021
Dispari replied to Jimmy's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
Right, it should be capped at a higher speed, is what I was trying to say. -

Dispari replied to Jimmy's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
I don't know if this was intentional or what, but the new jumping speed while Walking is slower than it used to be. It's currently capped at 3.15 mph just like the walking speed is, but before the patch you could move faster by hopping. -

Walk changes: Hooray! -
Just a short note. The new sped up Demon Summoning animations don't quite finish if you cast them while flying/hovering. The last bit where you lift your arms into the air is cut off and you just settle into an idle animation instead.

Oops, demon summoning animations don't quite finish if you do them while flying. Will report that -
Focused Feedback: Travel Power Updates (Build 1)
Dispari replied to Arcanum's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Jumping on this ASAP because it's important: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure any of the new powers that get their own tray (Afterburner) can be DISABLED at Null the Gull like extra tray powers (like Translocation) currently can, because that extra empty tray clogging up space is GARBAGE. Thanks for coming to my TED talk. (PS these changes are all really great, good job) -
Yay City of Data is back! And my wife helped! I'm so excited. Data has always been important for getting intricate details that even Mids won't show you, pet stats and powers, or badguys powers, being good examples. We've really come a long way. Does anyone remember the super old character planner that used Brawl Index as a measure of damage? (Pepperidge Farm remembers)
-
Possibly, but it's also not consistent, and mostly only happens when strafing. So it's not even good for that.
-
Using "slide" as your default stance seems to mess with flying animations fairly often. With both Hover and Fly, mostly when strafing. You end up sliding/surfing in the air until you stop or change directions.
-
For whatever reason my Rad Melee character is getting Radiation Siphon to pull from dark colors, even when on "bright." It's the only power in the set that does that. You can see the proper palette on the right. I got someone else to confirm that it was doing this for them.

Fair enough, I'll repost things there

I'll use that, wasn't sure if there was a more "focused bug reports for the brand new patch" type area.
-
I'm not even sure if this is a bug or a "balance" change from Gymnastics and Agility being rolled into one power, but I'm going to have to report it as a bug because it doesn't make any sense otherwise. Gymnastics (Tactical Arrow for Blasters) previously gave a bonus to jump height and speed equal to Combat Jumping (and stacked with it, or NR, or other similar powers). Now it gives a bonus to run speed and whatnot but doesn't do anything to jump. It still takes enhancements for jump, even though it doesn't boost jump at all, which leads me t believe it's SUPPOSED to still have a jump component.

Actually, a few of my power customization files are giving me trouble. The ones I have for an Ice/Rad tank and a DP/Dev blaster are both not loading properly and I had to set them up all over again and save the files anew. So it's not just you.
-
Is this a good place to report bugs? (If not, can someone show me where?) For whatever reason my Rad Melee character is getting Radiation Siphon to pull from dark colors, even when on "bright." It's the only power in the set that does that. You can see the proper palette on the right. I got someone else to confirm that it was doing this for them. This patch also seems to have destroyed several of my power customization files. This character (Ice/Rad tank) and another (DP/Dev blaster) I had to set up from scratch, their saved customization files were just blanking everything out. Oh! Another issue I'm having, unrelated but on the same character. Using "slide" as your default stance seems to mess with flying animations fairly often. With both Hover and Fly, mostly when strafing.

Focused Feedback: Other Powers Changes
Dispari replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Thank God. And thank the devs for listening to feedback. This particular changes was a bad idea. I don't like this though -- makes it sound like it'll be on the docket to nerf again when fewer people are paying attention. -
Bug with the new stance stuff, you can break the passive stance so it stops functioning. Reproduce like this: * Set your passive stance to something else, like Slide * Force change your stance by turning on something like NR * Zone * You're now stuck in normal stance after you turn off NR (zoning again seems to fix it)

Focused Feedback: Other Powers Changes
Dispari replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I had to read the travel powers change multiple times to make sure it was saying what I thought it said. I definitely don't agree with that change at all. The movement speed benefit of those powers is supposed to be a perk, not the primary purpose of the power. They aren't "travel powers" and shouldn't be incompatible with other things like Ninja Run. If anything those were fun reasons to take those sets, because you could combine them and get around without taking a real travel power (like Kinetics or some classes with Quickness can), even if a real travel power would still be better. And it's not like running/jumping better outside of combat is any threat to game balance. I would ask you to reconsider that one for sure. -
My feedback for this arc can be summed up as, it should be a Task Force. It's much, much too hard for a story arc. Set expectations for the player. If not a Task Force, it should be very clear about telling you up front to what the score is. It has 4 different EB fights and multiple bosses. Two of the EBs heal to full as you fight them, even multiple times. Ambushes happen during boss and EB fights. Sometimes in big crowds of multiple at once. EBs have defense toggles (RttC) or self-buff powers (Sonic Dispersion) making them that much harder to kill and/or impossible to mez. It's simply tuned way too high for a story arc. I get that maybe you (yes you, the person reading this right now who is thinking of replying) can finish it with your high-end IOed Brute or Tanker build and think it's easy, but for a level 29 story arc you can just stumble into with some SOs slotted? Nah. I don't even want to play the villain version at this rate if it's more of the same. As far as more specific feedback: * The ideas overall are good, I like the new units and I don't think I've seen some of these maps before? So that's cool. Vahzilok and Freaks deserve each other. * I don't get what's up with all the travel. This is 2020 right? We can all agree pointless travel is pointless? You're just wasting the player's time. I heard some people say you get less of it if you answer questions well. So the punishment is to make it take longer to get around? Having to do an extra mission I could understand, at least you get exp for that. But just... making it take longer? Why? You do want people to play your content, don't you? Reward them with a badge for guessing right, let them skip a mission, make the next mission easier somehow. But don't waste their time. * That map with the fog has lots of problems. Namely, it's hard to see so it's hard to navigate, which gets worse when there's fire everywhere. It's hard to tell where you're supposed to be going near the end (there's just a marker in a place that's not helpful). The fire does WAY too much damage for some reason? Like it literally took off huge chunks of my HP in a second, and just dashing through it a couple times nearly killed me. There's a lot of text happening near the end and I got a badge for picking some option (at random) but hey, players can't read through several pages of text while they're being ambushed/on fire/less than a minute left on the clock. Make it succinct. Oh and the multiple waves of ambushes while you try to click a glowie with a 30 second activation time? You knew what you were doing. * And the difficulty again. Seriously. Too many ambushes. Too many EBs. Not every fight needs to be an epic last stand against waves of enemies and an EB that keeps regenerating to full HP, requiring you to kill him 4 times. Or if it does, make it a Task Force so people know to bring 7 friends. I had some other comments, like the huge crowds in some of the maps, but it looks like everything else has been commented on by other people and is set to be changed/fixed.

Focused Feedback: Teleportation Pool Revamp
Dispari replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Combat Teleport is extremely cool. Though I'm curious if the ToHit buff is supposed to stack. Seems like an easy way to get a +20% to +30% ToHit on command
