issue 27 Focused Feedback: Costumes
Dispari replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I feel like the tintable options for rocket boots (et al) would make more sense using the secondary color instead of primary. BUT since I imagine some people won't agree on that, I also wonder if you can just include both as an option. Because my black/purple boots look silly in primary purple on my otherwise mostly black power armor, but I need purple FX, not black! -

Very good point, it's an extra hurdle for heroes but even worse for villains/Praetorians. I would go a step further and ask if the emotes need to be locked at all? We've mostly done away with that kind of thing (see: costume parts), except for ones earned from events. -

7 randoms ran the new Cavern of Transcendence. It got ugly.

Yeah I was worried this would get a lot harder because of the changes, but I couldn't really get a group together to test it. Not sure how I feel about making everything as hard as possible with tons of ambushes. People who don't have minmaxed builds do play this game too. -

Did you guys move Arena Headset to detail 2?? That's awesome! -
That makes sense actually, from a lore perspective.

I definitely like the new proposed set bonus layout more.

General Feedback: Issue 27, Page 3
Dispari replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
New Cim changes and new areas are cool. I like Valeria's island, and you can find cyclopses (cyclopsi?) and minotaurs if you know where to look. I found a few of the badges just running around going to obvious places. Hopefully we'll see an expansion of things to do in this zone in the future. I did also post about this in the badges thread but I'm not sure where it goes: Cim isn't a valid LRT destination, and it probably should be. -
Not sure if intentional or not, but even with full zone unlocks and getting several badges from Cimerora, it's still not a valid LRT destination. With the changes and new badges there I feel like it should be?

Okay so, morning observations and numbers (using level 50 attuned IOs) Level 50 base power speeds: Super Speed: 69.44 Speed of Sound: 69.44 Infiltration: 41.38 SS slotted with run/end: 82.72 SoS slotted with run/special: 89.06 Inf slotted with run/end: 47.22 Inf slotted with run/special: 53.46 Powers suppressed: 19.33 Boosted suppressed: 25.67 The difference between 82/89 is not really noticeable for me from a gamefeel perspective. I THINK I can recognize 47/53, at the very least I feel a little faster. Of course the most noticeable difference is when suppressed, I can definitely tell the difference with 19/25. The non-suppression in combat is the best part of it, I'd say the rest is just a neat perk. That being said, I still feel like these should be global bonuses that are always on. These numbers are neat and all, but it's not like I'm ever going to run these powers in combat, so it will never come up. If I could just ALWAYS have that 25 suppressed move speed, I might actually want to slot it. Oh and while we're at it, can we fix Infiltration being exclusive with stealth powers? It's a travel power, not a stealth power -- it has a stealth component as a perk, but so does Super Speed and that doesn't lock you out of any power usage.
-
Interesting idea, I like that it doesn't suppress. Will have to do some testing to see if 5 MPH is noticeable with various powers.

Thank you for the stalker layout and going with the current meta letting them keep their AoEs. -
(Mostly) Canon Night Widow Build -- Be the baddie!
Dispari replied to Stealthrider's topic in Arachnos Soldier & Widow
You pick at 24, when the game forces a respec on you. Picking any NW or Fortunata specific power will lock you into that path. But you can have an alt build later and build the other one if you wish. -

Can't have both BU and FU, though Forts can have both Aim and FU. Picking one will lock you into a playstyle. FU is better for sustained scrappy damage, BU is better for the kill and leave stalker playstyle. Pick your poison basically. -

I might slightly miss being able to summon the workbench and sit on it like a portable judgement chair, but I'll make do. Some of its details are a bit unusual, might be worth tweaking. You can also rename them, not sure if that's intended (but it's fun). Also this is just a thought, but if we're going for making it as convenient as possible, maybe it should just be a toggle? When I do a lot of crafting I have to summon it over and over again. -

Hmmmm. That IS a decent point. You're right. Even though I knew it was a pet I wasn't thinking of it as one so much as armor. -

For Geode, this might just be me but this thing is a bit too big! It scales on character height, so if you're 8 feet tall... -

Minor typo for Geode, end of the first sentence. It should say "absorb incoming damage while you heal AND recover endurance at an incredible rate." The icon is also that of a pet power, which I don't think is very appropriate. The icon for Hibernate (also Granite) would be more appropriate. It's not like you're going to get the power confused with another one you can't have. -
It seems good for melee ST. Its main non-purple competitor for recharge would be Crushing Impact, which it beats in the recharge department. There isn't currently a 6.25% recharge for melee. The HP and accuracy bonuses are the same, so it comes down to how much you need that 1.5% S/L RES. If you only care about recharge, it's the clear winner. It even has a damage proc to make use of. Granted this only applies to Ice Melee and some of Icy Assault, but I could see Doms being happy about the recharge potential. You also mentioned it AoEs. Competing with Obliteration, that loss of S/L RES is rough but it does have more recharge overall. You also mentioned the end difference -- I think that's even more important. For sets like Obliteration or Posi, that 18-47% end slotting can be painful for already expensive AoEs. 66% is a lot more enticing and I'd probably lean toward that for anyone who can slot it. It will also be the best option for Mud Pots and Hot Feet (and any others that exist?), I believe. It has the highest available endurance reduction. Obliteration leaves it painfully expensive, other options don't give any recharge, and Armageddon has never been really exciting bonuses IMO (at least compared to Apocalypse). I think the main reasons you'd want to not slot it would be to use Avalanche or Cleaving/Eradication for ranged DEF, assuming you don't need the recharge. For powers that can ONLY slot slow sets, like Tar Patch, it seems like the best option available. Not that I think 5-slotting Tar Patch is a good idea, but it's certainly a possibility. Mostly, it has better 2-3 slot bonuses (unless you want that S/L from Impeded Swiftness), and the proc is the best of the bunch. You're right though, I'll probably swap Chilling Embrace's proc to cold damage and call it a day. So I guess it's fitting this set is going to mostly benefit ice Doms.
-
I think all enhancements do this. The game isn't really designed to check to see if slotting for your power has changed while you're still using it. You can have the same thing if you summon MM pets and change what uniques you do/don't have slotted. It won't update until you dismiss and resummon.

Focused Feedback: Electrical Blast Revamp
Dispari replied to Player-1's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Fair enough, it's a very unusual pet now, but it always has been. I hate powers that detoggle on mez and tend to avoid sets with them, but I can see how it would have some added utility for certain playstyles. Not every set is going to be one I like. And treating it like it's just a damage toggle with weird quirks means it's not that far out of line from powers blasters already get. -
Makes me wonder how many minos and cyclopses are in an ITF. I feel like it's probably about 20? There's one in the first mission, there are like 5 of each in the cyst mission, several in the run up in mission 3 and one spawn that's entirely them, and I want to say 6 of each in the final mission. Not that running an ITF several times is a big deal. Do the ones in Sister Solaris's arc count? I know they're bosses instead of Elite Bosses, not sure if that's a problem. I know there's an alignment mission that's full of void hunters. I can't remember what alignment or level range it is, but that may be an option. If anyone can remember what it's called, I'd like to look it up. Cloud of Odorous Smoke may be the one I'm thinking of -- it's 30-39 hero/vigilante.

Focused Feedback: Electrical Blast Revamp

The main problem with Voltaic Sentinel has always been its short duration. We went through the same thing with Elec Affinity's sentinel, which started at something like 35s and ended at 120s. I daresay making the Voltaic Sentinel a toggle is even worse, because now it's going to die every time you get mezzed, forcing you to stop and resummon it. Or just give up and stop summoning it. If you're getting mezzed regularly like against Malta, you may as well not have the power. That's very strange behavior for what's supposed to be a pet. Isn't the whole point of a pet that it can act independently of you? -
That's perfectly fine, and I'm not trying to discount people building characters how they want without the goal of minmaxing. But you can have both at the same time. The set can be good for people who just want to zip around with a good fly power AND still be desirable for other people to pick. They're not mutually exclusive concepts. The uniques being better and the set bonuses being better would have no negative impact on the person you're describing, but would make the set more appealing for everyone else at the same time. There's no benefit to anyone for including unexciting sets in the game just because SOMEONE will pick it. Plus, if those people want the best travel power, they can already accomplish that by slotting 2x level 50+5 IOs in it. And for 2 slots less than any of these sets. And if the goal is for the sets to appeal to people who love travel powers, the bonuses shouldn't be desirable combat/farmer bonuses. They should be things like a +9% bonus to all move speeds or an increase in your speed cap. Or a jump benefit for Super Speed because all the +run in the world isn't going to help you in Grandville.
