    ice melee

     - GOOD slotting diversity, mix of pbaoe, melee single, aoe

     - dmg type very rarely resisted well, slow on stuff so procs if you like

     - 'frost' is 10ft 90* cone, counts as ranged aoe, you can increase range if you wanna

     - frozen aura is really good

     - ice patch improves survivability

    stone armor

     - defens'ey, LOTG slots.

     - the aura does immob, which is handy and also pisses off the monsters

     - you dont necessarily get blown up by high end arachnos or other psi (minerals also gives 15% recharge)

     - you get a sliver of toxic resist from the HP++

     - rooted is toggle decent mes protect and 100% regen

     - oh no, kupo! button with geode

    OR

    bio

     - offensive adaptation, genetic contamination

     - invalidated if kin on team, sorta

     - overdone, not fashion

    PSIONIC MASTERY (for epic)

     - everyone who fights council exclusively all day junks on psi, but its good and when they dont resist they typically really dont resist

     - snipe - with added range 175ft vs 150ft on the others

     - psychic scream - CONE - this with frost is a mean double of odd damage types that can wreck a bad guys day

     - harmonic mind - end discount and recovery, horray!

     - skip the pet it gets 1 shot like most all pets outside singularity, arsenal turret or full on immune incarnate options. worthless.

  2. If you haven't seen 'pulp fiction', it's pure Americana. Green apple cigarettes and foot massage drama.

'Requiem for a dream' is good, but upsetting.

'blame!' is a really good anime movie available on Netflix

'the platform' is a movie about a prison where groups of 2 are on floors of an enormous tower. They get knocked unconscious every month and moved floor. Food comes down a central shaft, and goes top to bottom. This means the lower floors get poor quality food, or none. Drama ensues.  Part 2 comes out October 4th of this year. It's really good.

'the circle' is a good sleepy time movie. A group of people are trapped in a room where they must eliminate one another for unknown captors/reasons. Also on Netflix.

If you haven't played (yes played) bandersnatch, consider doing so!! It's a psychological horror choose your own adventure where you select options with your remote. It has many ways it can turn out. Also Netflix.

figs bonus picks - 'devilman crybaby' / cyberpunk 2077 - Netflix. I've watched both at least 4 times....

...oh, and 'love and sexy robots' or something, you'll find it.

The use of the word "ash" is a bit of a turn-off, but the recipe does sound good...

As a citizen of the second-largest peach growing state in the Union, I'm wondering if dried peaches might work for this.  Peaches pair very nicely with cinnamon and honey, though I've never dehydrated them before.  I do have a friend who spends much of September drying apples, so I might have to beg of them to test run some peaches so I can try this (then beg some dried apples off them so I can try that as well).

I've had dried peaches only once, I got them from Amazon (and you can get them with no sulfur added).

    They'd work splendidly!

    Hope you enjoy it

I'm still trying to work out a build with Repel, Whirlwind or both

IMO - Repel, yes, it's underappreciated. whirlwind maybe - but it's deep in the power pool.

Increased density is decent, if you've powers to spare.

  6. imma move my characters, seeing as I'm on a laptop and touchpad right now...

...the mouse I have i gotta use on an inverted bucket right now to be able to play near where the laptop is...

...i don't have a table (or chair, or anything, i even lost the top to my water flask) right now...

...only air mattress and a plastic bucket...

anyway, is there still time for me to enter the everlasting grand magic festival??

I'm really famous.  so i thought it might be ok.

As you noted in your OP /Kin can get busy, Elec/Kin is extremely busy, especially if you incorporate Jolting Chain.

This combo can excel at draining end but is better on single targets, Shortfall is it has no -Recovery for this task so you'll reduce the ability to attack but you can't flat out stop it unless your timing is impeccable.

Originally went ranged with Elec/Kin/Mu and ended up switching to melee with Elec/Kin/Earth. Risky but fun play.

don't think / remember doing elec control / kin, did a elec/elec affinity - and that was super busy on its own.  with siphon speed and good recharge, I imagine you can do the chain lightning confuse about every 20-25s or so... and jolting chain (base recharge 8s) would be up all the time.

ya, bet its really good, but actually physically tiring to play for extended periods 🙂

    • JUST TESTED THIS... I WAS INCORRECT... IN WRITING THAT TICK HEALS CAN BE MISSED... SORRY ABOUT THAT.
    • TESTING REVEALS:  (TESTED ON MS. LIBERTY... SUPER JUMPED AWAY FROM MSLIB AFTER CLICKING TEMP MENDING)...
      • INITIAL HEAL OF 127 HP
      • 5 TICKS OF 33.87 HP
    • SO, TICKS DO NOT MISS EVEN IF ALLY RUNS MORE THAN 25 FOOT RADIUS AWAY DURING TICKING.

Yes. The whole thing is applied at cast time.

Then your playing back a timespan with events in it after various delays from start time at cast.

In the mundane, someone put a demon sealing charm flash paper anime thing on you! it burns up, it's attached to you, so that fuse/timespan/yokai-busting-paper-burn-effect executes.

It'd be way more complex for server/network/game client, to calculate as wave ticks over a timespan, and to sync that and position checking at each micro-tick between players in a multiplayer game.

    Simply put, at cast time:

     - a sequence of things to happen is applied to all that it applies to

     - in this case it is a heal, and a hot (heal over time)

     - you could combat tp hundreds of ft away, and you'd still finish the span with events attached to your player at the time of casting

     - actual zoning DURING the span might end it, if it's just dropped at that point.

    - think of it like a fireball, in the regard that (or pbaoe 'inferno') - you don't need to remain in the initial blast radius of the fireball for the duration of damage over time component that's burning you.

How is that kind of persistent presence thing implemented?

     - toggles, which check every n time ticks them do something: e.g. what's within 8 ft of me? Ok, hit those with 10pts of damage.  e g. Apply XYZ amount of smashing, lethal...defense to self as buff that lasts ABC seconds...pay endurance cost to maintain.

     - pseudopets / entities: the circle that is tar patch, the flask of oil or whatever it is that can be set aflame, a furious tornado.

But at core, those things, like the heal with a heal over time component, want to keep calculation of their effect as cheap for the game system as possible.

  9. Plus... Icicles looks nice,  the way the ice forms and pokes out.. and you can do those semi see through spines to look sort of icy.

Toxic dots and cold damage, should be good.

  10. It's probably not worth the extra end drain vs DMG over diversity cap, when at ive-done-the-things incarnate levels that are ignoring so much enh diversity:

    • you'd be taking a DMG cut on architypes like blaster to cause a condition which does not work on monsters like it works on players, kupo.
    • Pve monsters don't act as if they're malta zapped, not at all.

It's not worth it, as is, in my big expertise opinion...

...now, if being end dry made monsters sleep 1-2s, as soft cc, that'd be nice. Why so short? It's why even mass hypnosis (non pulsing sleep) is great - works as an interrupt.

  11. Mhm, like the endurance-ey ones they added, but end drain isn't strong enough a soft control, because the monsters seem to cheat with end slivers - but they make SHOCKED go off. Enough to justify their use? No, sadly.

  12. If you got 100 merits, take a winter ❄️ IO and sell it at 25M flat.

The ATOs been going for 10M flat too these days (obviously don't get these with merits).

People been setting the base at the cost of a pack roll recently. (New sets, punishment tax)

Not the case for purple 🟣 50 recipes, as these drop while fire farm.

  13. It'd be nice to have a sleep set or two aside from the purple one, with something like debuff to proc re-sleep on target damage. Would go nicely into things like mesmerize or the psi blaster one, make salt crystals and non-pulse sleeps better (i.e. not arsenal control or elec control).

    Also, recipe variety?

    This!

  14. Hi everyone!

It's me, breakfast prince Figs.  You may remember me from my popular recipes for Jam or meat Rolly Polly.

Well, the seasons are changing again, and the weather is finally not swamp-hot in the tropical marsh of the DC metro region.

    So today, ash cakes.

If you use apricots, hold in mind that these were roman imports at the time, and were hard to grow domestically in the UK, because not hot.  So, savor every morsel as delicacy!

These can actually be made in the ashes of a fire, but let's use an oven so we don't get cancers.

RECIPE FOR 12 HONEY, OAT AND SPICE CAKES

     - 250g Scottish porridge oats

      - 125g unsalted butter

      - 50g chopped dried apricots or dried apples (or plums, or cherries!)

      - 4 large tablespoons runny honey

      - 1 level teaspoon of ground cinnamon (+pinch of nutmeg)

    METHOD

     - Preheat your oven to 180C (160C in a fan oven). Celsius not faren-hot, it's about 360faren-hot.

     - Melt the butter in a large saucepan and remove
    from the heat.

     - Add the honey, oats, cinnamon and dried fruit to
the butter and stir until everything is well mixed.

     - Grease a baking tray, spoon 12 dollops of the
mixture on it and then flatten them slightly.

     -  Bake in the oven for 10–12 minutes.

      - Place the cakes on a wire rack and leave to cool!

(Also good with custard, proper custard,  🍮 not creme brulee, the yellow soup kind)

Here is a trick for custard:

     - add a few spoons of expensive baby milk powder. It has special fats. You'll sleep like a log.

Here is wonderous music for in the background:

Tried everything except dark, mind, symphony on kin. They are all fun. There's only 1 winner. Fire. Plant as runner up. Ice and Illusion for the most fun. Arsenal if your incredibly lazy. Which i am.

rly like symphony (tho on dominator more, with the echo pet there's a lot of control floating about).

arsenal is super strong, but its all location aoes so it gets a bit boring (to me, and thats not because it isn't effective, or cant /bind alt+2 powexec_location target skill name to make use less clicky)

  16. i dont wanna type it all into mids.  off screen is hasten, 2 slotted stamina and whatever unique(s) i put into health.

as you can see he's not quite finished yet - but so far so good.  very hardy and can move around a lot between shield charge, spring attack, and combat tp.

  17. elec/elec - its fun to do bad things. you can see my AMAZING build in the blaster forums 'LVCK VOLTIA', or search for the tag #honoroitisfantastic

it deals its damage much faster than the fire or ice rains, the pbaoe smash punch is good, the elec fireball is good, the T9 is ranged.  you can end up with 2x holds between the primary and secondary.

  18. People use converters a lot, kupo:

    • Making a crafted enhancement into another. E.g. an uncommon -> type -> repeat that until rare -> roll rare until a reasonable one.
    • ^ that lets you take crafts WITHOUT rare salvage to ones that would require it. If that costs less than 400k inf, then you likely profit

    • Converting ATOs and winter sets
    • I'm guilty of this, a lot.
    • Pretty much when I feel like /respec a loaded character and recycling ATOs

So ya, sold reasonably priced, they sell instantly.

Right now, I lost mine at 59999, and buy at 66666. But I'm trying to use them mainly, as opposed to selling them.

  19. I'll post build later, been meaning to respec to get rid of leap attack (the tp one in jump power pool, it's cool tho and I have procs in it)... Just because it's a lot of power choices to get it.

Anyways, stuff being packed by movers right now and I'm in darkness laying out on the floor typing this to a 📱 phone...

    0_3(7).thumb.png.56efcbdd58bcb6b110a4405b94722e51.png

...but I'll fetch out the laptop later and Mids.

-- Figs, breakfast prince in transit

  20. Mace mastery - You can put a bunch of procs in 'poisonous ray' and a few in 'disruptor blast' to help with damage a bit, while it's 'scorpuon shield' is definitely boosting.

Illusion does ok when you've perma PA, and you can drop it on groups to tank as they're immune.

Dark control/dark affinity is a combination that'll make any group very hardy, mobs can't hit you, you grant def, there's plenty of slots for luck of the gambler, and you have an AOE rez that stuns and can stack with the stun in the dark control set.

Cast the AOE immob often, don't skip darkest night, put a couple of recharges in howling twilight, and use it like a control power on cool down layered with heart of darkness. I skip possess.

dark/dark/Mace is quite strong as a result - it makes for very safe teaming, and you feel impactful.

You'd buff bigger numbers with /kin, but the impact of enemies not being able to hit your team is quite remarkable, even with tougher enemies, kupo.
