The Pet AI R Stupid.
It's not just Singularity. It's pretty much all controller/dominator pets. My Phantasm will just stop and refuse to move. He will stop when zoning and refuse to move. He refuses to move when I enter a mission. He finishes attacking an enemy and refuses to move. Etc, etc, ad nauseum.
I haven't figured out exactly why this happens. Maybe it is purely random. Maybe he just secretly hates me. I'd love to see the Pet AI get the Mastermind makeover, because right now it's really annoying.

I feel the need to repeat myself here.
RNG is RNG.
It is totally possible to go on a streak with no drops for hours on end. I have literally played all day and not gotten anything for recipes. Other days I have gotten 10 purple drops. Random is random. Is it unlikely? Yes. Is it possible? Yes. The only way to prove something is broken is by producing and crunching data.

It is a bit of a pain, but zone out to Atlas or Grandville and then come back in. It will drop the pet and by the time you get back in it will have respawned. You do have to stay out of zone for at least 5 seconds to get it to despawn properly. One other note, you can't just grab it and exit. It takes a bit to register that you have it, so what I do is take it by the first pillbox and let the pillbox damage it, then exit.

Pick one. (or more) Any of these can help you figure out which badges you are missing. I use the first and third one myself. I'm not big on pop menus.

I ran most of my badges through Ouro. Much easier to be sure you don't miss anything. I've done all of the badge missions and am working my way through the non-badge missions just to be a completionist on both sides.
What I like about doing it this way is that I can pick and choose when I want to do content and I don't have to keep turning XP on and off to keep from missing things.

RNG is RNG.
All of the above is true, but you are still at the mercy of RNG. RNG can be a cruel mistress at times.

Thank you for that. I am finally able to get rid of the duplicate entry that I made by accident.

There is also one in Modder that I put there that is a very distinctive ding that is louder than the original glowie sound. I made it for those that are hard of hearing or have trouble discerning which speaker the noise is coming from.

I used the later Scirocco arcs to get the Mu Guardians. Turn it up to 4/1 and got it in a couple of runs.

Pretty sure that would need to be split into a rotating key bind to work correctly. I don't think it will work as a macro.
-
This is why I gave up farming except to PL a toon that I don't want to grind. There is just easier influence to be made elsewhere. I've tried it almost every way and it's just inefficient no matter how you slice it assuming that you already know how to run the market.
I'll still do it once in a while just to make sure things haven't changed, but I'd lot rather spend my time buying and selling for ten minutes a day and make 10xx the profit.

Also which server you are on would help as well. Cosmic Council on Excelsior is great at helping with badging.
-
I have never seen a macro, but I did a sound mod that changes the pulse to more of a ding that is a lot easier to hear and locate. You can find it in the COH Modder tool.

yeah. so i have an SG mate that is helping me with the damage taken badges....how the heck does a melee get the healing badges. or mezzed? lol it would have taken me 3000 vet levels to get the damage taken badges knocked out. looking like 30,000 vet levels to get healing with the tools i know about....
Plenty of guides on here about how to do it. AFK in fire with a heal going, using incarnate heals on groups of npc's, etc. Same with damage.

Been this way forever. Most cast powers have this effect. For example, transfusion can heal even though you die as you are casting. Not sure there is much that can be done as it is a result of Server/Client timing which is somewhat asynchronous. Ethernet packets are "in the mail" as other packets are sent and there is some overlap between when they arrive at the destinations, be pretty tough to do this game synchronously and make it playable.

Did you eventually get the badge? Working on this too and haven't actually bothered to look at the progress bar.

All of that sort of stuff is done server side. There are tons of scripts that make the game work. From badge checking to mission completion, to selling and buying on the auction house, etc etc. You never see it, but it's there and ticking away all the time doing it's thing so the client on you computer knows what's up.
