Revisiting this thread since it popped up. It caused me to try out a Kin/Elec Defender. I know it’s not ideal cause of the overkill with the defender values on kin. But oh mannnnn. It’s so fun sapping everyone of endurance in like three hits. Shocked also stacks up and adds quite a bit of damage. I don’t crunch numbers or min/max but can confirm it’s super fun.

What a fun concept this is! I love this community. Haha. Hope to catch the next one!

Sorry for the necro but I was thinking about rolling this myself. How did you end up liking it?

If you haven’t seen it already I highly recommend @oedipus_tex’s guide on the trust fund dominator. The general principles to perma dom help a lot with someone less experienced. (I am not a pro so I’ll defer to them.) But I do know that a perma dom Mind is a scary thing. Plus savage is one of the more fun and visceral sets I’ve played in my time here. It may not be fully “meta” or as easy as another but it will be super fun and will work just fine.

Thank you so much for this thread. I’ve been enjoying doms more than any other AT but have quit them due to all the threads out there saying they needed huge investment to get to a “strong” state. This has made my very low level (so far) Dark/energy VERY strong. And my most fun character by far. 🙂

This is great advice. And I’ve been following @Without_Pauseadvice about making influence as well and have stocked up quite a nice sum over the past few days. (Well. Nice to me. Lol. Enough to buy panacea and some defense io thingies!) I’ve been running the DB/SR combo and liking it a lot. Mainly running story arcs for merits. I really like to do the Kings Row ones to see how a build does vs Chernobog and Veles early on. It’s been going well! Only qualm is endurance issues but with enhancements soon that won’t hurt as much!

This is great info. Thanks for taking the time. with the market and the merits…are you buying converters and then buying cheap/recipes and doing conversions to expensive ones? I’m still green and not familiar with knowing which ones to in set and which ones to type convert etc. etc. but can see how that would be profitable. I’ve just been making 25 common ios at 22 and then seeing how the build does after that. The ATOs and the endurance proc ones are all sooooo expensive. But it’s usually big endurance issues that turn me off a build so I usually try to prioritize those.

Haven’t tried EM on a scrapper yet. I’ll have to give it a peek!

I need to buckle down and hit 50 with a scrapper so that I can slowly fund all of the more crazy expensive projects I wanna do… I don’t want to like hardcore farm, just looking for a scrapper that is fun through the leveling process so I don’t get distracted and quit it, but that is also somewhat forgiving with initial load out. (Cheaper io etc) So I can start making some influence. I love scrappers and would prefer one of those over a brute. Stalkers are great too but I imagine scrapper is probably the easier pick for this specific need? I was thinking maybe something like Spines/WP would be a fairly easy start? Anyone have any others that spring to mind?

I really like it on some controllers. Specifically Grav/Kin and the ever popular Fire/Kin. It works well on Beast MM as well. I’m not very knowledgeable with corrupters or defenders so I’ll let others comment on those.

Bruiser for me, largely just because it was the first MM I got high enough to get the boss pet. The game instantly changed and suddenly I felt stronkkkkk.

I kinda wanna make a beast/Kin just for something different. currently have: -thugs/dark -thugs/trap -bot/time -demon/nature Have a fun concept for Demon/Storm that I’m tempted to level up too. Really liked my Plant/Storm troller a LOT. One of those is bound to hook me I think. They’re all mid 20s right now. Just working on one an evening as I have time.

I have officially rolled a thugs/traps with all these suggestions. Hahaha. I’ll get the three I’m working on to 32 and see who I love the most! 😄

I’ve only gotten a Bots character to 25. I’m sure if I pushed through to get the assault bot it would get better but I just struggle with the low single target. Very survivable though. I have a Bot/Time that I like and is close to that last pet that I’ll push through. But I’m working on Demons/Nature right now that is immensely enjoyable the whole way through.
