[Least Annoying/Most Effective Combo in a Team]

I'll put my 2 Inf in for Bots/FF/Mace.

 

Back in the Live server days it was my main and fully Incarnated. I ran every TF available and felt like I was both contributing, and was asked frequently to help out, and had lots of fun doing so.

 

Bubbles are always helpful. They provide Toxic resistance, and resistance to END drain, too. Even if you are Defense capped, extra DEF helps prevent cascading Defense failures. And buffs every thing that's not. Plus mezz protection for all who need it.

 

It also is hands off enough you can pay more attention to your pets and the flow of combat.

 

Bots are ranged, for the most part, and using GoTo to prevent door jamming and other considerate for your teammates will be useful for any pet set.

 

You're incarnate buffs and your ancillary pool choices can also add to your helpfulness to the team.

 

I've found PFF useful when I get separated from others in Trials for one reason or the other.

 

If you don't care about defense, then go Sonic. If also reccimend Dark as a top useful secondary on teams. Both go very well with Bots.

 

I won't mention Time. It already has enough recommendations for it.

 

But Bots/FF is a classic and for good reason. From level one to Incarnate.

 

Whatever you choose, the set you enjoy playing is the one you'll play the best, so try a few sets out and see which clicks :)

[Why no love for /COLD?]

Testing out a Ninjas / Cold and it is solid.

 

Maneuvers + Arctic Fog +  Ice Shields = Miss fest

 

Benumb is one of the best debuffs in the game. Slot that baby for recharge.

 

 

Aid Other is kind of bad. The range isn't good tbh and getting interrupted is just awful. Getting the last talent in that medicine pool is tight depending on your build too.

 

/Cold is exceptional for PvP as well.

 

This is good to hear. It's feeding my altitis!

The Field Medic passive is very helpful for me to my Bots/FF. Big QoL improvement from Live. Some range enhancement helps.

I can't find any incarnates yet. I guess people are still levelling multiple toons instead.

I see stuff on /help and /LFG on Everlasting...

...but I'm also THAT guy leveling multiple characters...!

true but that's the teams problem. I tell 'em to gather for farsight. they don't pay attention. they can read chat from the hospital.

Thank you Strikerfox! I think I'll use Big Bot to carry the proc! I can't count the number of times he's blown his own targets out of his own burn patch!

 

overwhelming force you can only use one of and it does more than just change kb to kd, it gives all attacks a chance to knock down. 20%. use it in the pet with the most attacks. i dont know offhand how many attacks the little bots get. if one has 5 attacks, then they have 15 total chances to proc that bad boy.

 

there is another io in sudden acceleration that changes kb to kd and that is not unique, so you can place in both assault bot and protector bot.

 

I think I'm at a loss for a slot for Sudden Acceleration. After slotting 3 IOs for DEF/Res for pets, there's not a lot of room for others. I *might* be able to squeeze 1 sudden acceleration in, but its dependant on later-game slotting after some Hami-Os are available. Until then, I might be just able to slot and use the Overwhelming Force...

 

peep the slotting in this build. the build up chance in assault bot you can live without since it went from a 50% chance to 3ppm, which mean if you are lucky it will go off every 20 seconds or so, and might not always get you those three from my observations using it on a few mm's now. put sudden acceleration there.

I remember having to pick swift, health, and stamina.

 

I remember Instant Healing being a toggle.

 

I remember a team leader booting a bubble defender because they didn't have any heals, so they were useless.

Perhaps remove the pet names from over their heads?

There's an option to do so in the UI for other people's pets, not sure you can do so with your own.

 

It actually does not. It just removes the customized names. Like, instead of Pleasure Bot you will see Drone Bot.

A huge part of my fun I seeing pet names... :-)

At 2:28 PM EST, June 8th, 2019, a remake of one of my original COH characters, Doctor Cosmos, a Rad/Rad Defender hit 50!  My first 50 back!

 

Congrats! It's nice to bring back to life a character from the past! Like you, I remade my old villain main. Have fun!

How well does the zombie AI work with that increased speed? If think it might make Ninjas too ADHD... And cause agro issues... How about the zombies?

I'd say the lack of a heal. Aid Other does have a nice range, about 3-4 seconds CD, 35% HP. Might be workable.

Even better with field medic to remove the interrupt. I say this as a Bubbler. :)

[Bots. What exactly does KB?]

Most KB comes from the BigBot. He definitely gets the Overwhelming proc. I don't have room for Sudden Accel. KD procs in ProtBots or Battle Drones. But just managing BigBot's KB is huge.

Scrappers and Brutes are grossly overpowered and trivialize all content.

Also my first Position TF... Was a total disaster, deaths abounding, people lost... Huffing around at slow speed. And it was looooooong. But still fun. Kind of.

 

Also the moment I earned Hover in King's Row at level 6, and it seemed to take forever. But now I could search for clockwork easily on rooftops.... And the skies were mine!

[What's a Needed Support Class For Later Levels?]

Any support power set is vital endgame for most everything (farming aside). Find what tickles your fancy. Even Forcefield, which is pretty one dimensional (but a fave of mine) contributes at end game, preventing cascading Defense failures and lending mezz protection. Unlike most games, elitism is not the rule when it comes to what you play at end game.

As a Force-Fielder, I remember first reading this years ago and finding it so helpful. Years later, it just cements my love of the set. PFF and Dispersion Bubble get much love from me.  :)
