  1. Using Propel -- old school, super long animation Propel -- to bonk skulls or hellions off a rooftop and thinking "Man, the physics in this game. I love this. Can it get any better?" Then the game world went kind of dark, and these freaky alien ships showed up and my framerate dropped to slideshow as everyone ran out to see what was going on... Well, I think some of them knew the end of beta meant a Rikti event, but I SURE DIDN'T.
  2. Oh man I love that one. "Be more positive, Lady Grey!" *nuclear cloud* "NOT THAT POSITIVE!"
  3. It's a shame some of the better TFs (IMO anyway) are locked behind zone completion. Do things like Drowned in Blood and The Sky Is Falling count as TFs, as well?
  4. I found the Shining Stars during a Paladin event nobody seemed interested in. They were standing on the street clustered up, with Twinshot popping leadership every few minutes (as she tends to do). They weren't actually doing anything, and nobody was guarding them. Maybe if you kite the Paladin to them something happens?
  5. I posted here before but while time-traveling I undid the circumstances that caused me to post, rendering the post nonexistent.
  6. There's a door that leads you to a different area of the map, at the far south of the Faultline zone. https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/File:Map_Faultline_(old).jpg "Pristine" is in the area with the four large circular things, in front of the building at the very bottom of the map.
  7. VidiotMaps is downloadable from Sourceforge. https://sourceforge.net/projects/vidiotmaps/ I've noticed some people have problems with it. Installing it directly to the CoH folder worked for me, but others have had issues with the maps not showing up.
  8. Each character has to earn them, but some are automatically triggered. Every character made right now is getting VIP and the 15th Anniversary badge, for example.
  9. Oh my lord, that Lore AMA. I know what I'm reading for the next... *scrolls* month.
  10. To me I feel like Khalisti has to be either a PVP (and at this point... why?) or a co-op zone, given the hero and villain sides. I'd probably run with something involving the Shivans, but I haven't read up on their lore. I do know the interior maps are available on the AE mission maker, and they are lovely things.
  11. Never fear, we are constantly vigilant against the menacing threat of jerk hackers. If a jerk hacker is found, we reverse hack-jerk, and they are actually the ones who well be gone to the americans! (not actually a dev or affiliated with the server team, but SOMEBODY had to post the countersign)
  12. Ugh. Hey, Skele, sorry I dropped off mid-badge hunt, but my net went out. I did save this, though: One plaque is 514 yards north of the Reservoir marker, at the bottom of a chasm, behind a chunk of stone fence and a bunch of CoT. Loc is -75.6 -610.7 -21.8 And there's a second 393 yrds North of Reservoir next to a large building leaning heavily. Loc at -19.4 -576.2 356.3
  13. I'm glad someone else is working on this too because Old School Faultline is a horror story of a zone. The "Pristine" badge is near the fence on a large building in the back of the zone, in the Reservoir Area. The /loc is 573.8 0.0 4438.0 . And on the bridge between the southeast and southwest ... dam turbines? big circular things, at loc 332.4 -90.8 3489.0 is "Forsaken".
  14. I sorta know how you feel, because after I was done with this guide I was sort of hoping I could find more zones that weren't on the Live server to go badging in. ... Does anyone know if Khalisti Wharf has badges?
  15. Updated the post to reflect what "The Constant" is. You're welcome, I'm just glad this helped!
  16. I'm cross-posting this from the Badge Patrol thread because it's probably more helpful to have it standalone than it is to have it buried halfway down that thread. Going through Ouroboros to "Echo: Atlas Park" takes you to a zone that was not in the version of CoH on the live servers and therefore is not on Paragon Wiki. I offer this guide to help find those pesky Exploration badges in this zone. Trustworthy: The large green crystal in the MAGI office, /loc -129.2 -783.8 -805.4 Trustworthy text: "Mystics all over the world entrust MAGI with powerful artifacts." Knowledgeable: In the GIFT office, between the third and fourth rows of bookshelves. /loc 43.4 -783.8 -1000.8 Knowledgeable text: "Although the human genome was mapped out by many of the scientific community's brightest men and women, this library documents scores of super power related anomalies that continue to baffle genetic experts around the world." Virtuous: Feet of the statue in Promethous Park's lake. (Thank you, EmperorSteele!) /loc 965.1 -26.7 -753.7 Virtuous text: "Throughout Atlas Park and the rest of Paragon City there are numerous statues of heroes who fell in battle while defending their beliefs." Rookie: Base of the stairs out of the Atlas Park plaza, where a new character would spawn. /loc 127.4 0.3 -111.3 Rookie text: "Newly registered heroes in Paragon City often start out in Atlas Park, where they can speak with more established heroes to receive advice and guidance." Condemned: There's a brown brick building 289 yards NE of the Atlas Plaza marker, the badge is on the overhanging roof above a pair of double-doors on this building. /loc -543.0 15.8 -900.3 Condemned text: "The properties along Miller Street have been condemned and will be demolished and replaced with new attractions within a few years." Resilient: 102 yards east of the marker for Hyperion Way, there's a tall boxy chunky piece of modern art sitting in a downstairs area. Climb those boxes and the badge sits on the topmost box. /loc -1471.4 56.8 -564.0 Resilient text: "This monument was built by a local artist with materials scavenged after the first Rikti invasion. Having wrought creation from destruction, it reaches skyward to represent Paragon City's unbroken spirit." Out of Harm's Way: 264 yards North of the Promethous Park marker, in an east-west traffic tunnel/underpass. /loc 1150.1 0.0 -1597.5 Out of Harm's Way text: "When the Rikti invaded, their drop ships scattered bombs from every corner of the sky. Tunnels like this one were strong enough to withstand the blasts." City Traveler: Inside the Paragon Transit Station, in the west alcove. /loc 581.5 74.0 -1363.4 City Traveler text: "Whether transporting heroes on their way to a mission or civilians to their homes, the Paragon Transit Authority has a record of efficiency and safety second to none." Note - City Traveler is spelled "City Traveller" on the Unknown metabadge before receiving it. For completing all of these, I specifically got the "Walked Down Memory Lane" badge. Walked Down Memory Lane text: "You've obtained this Accolade by earning every Exploration badge within Echo: Atlas Park." You can also get the Accolade badge "The Constant" if you have every badge in both the current and Echo Atlas Park. (Thank you, ElDee.) The Constant text: " Villains, heroes, time travel, trans-dimensional wars... Come what may, in an ever-changing multiverse, you are The Constant which remains unchanged." I hope this guide helps everyone out there tour Echo: Atlas Park and maybe find some familiar old haunts. If it really helped you, drop an in-game email to @xyzzysqrl and let me know. Happy badging!
  17. I believe this zone is new in i24/25. Upthread a few people were complaining the badges weren't in the same place as they were in "current" Atlas Park, so I decided to go skim around and see what I could find.
  18. I don't see a Paragon Wiki page for Echo: Atlas Park. If I'm duplicating someone else's work, let me know and I'll drop it. Also, you're right, someone on a rogue character will have to verify these and give the altered names and descriptions. I didn't think about that.
  19. Decided to go out badge-patroling in Atlas Park Echo today, since people are having problems finding the badges. Trustworthy: The large green crystal in the MAGI office, /loc -129.2 -783.8 -805.4 Knowledgeable: In the GIFT office, between the third and fourth rows of bookshelves. /loc 43.4 -783.8 -1000.8 Virtuous: Feet of the statue in Prometheus Park's lake. (Thank you, EmperorSteele!) /loc 965.1 -26.7 -753.7 Rookie: Base of the stairs out of the Atlas Park plaza, where a new character would spawn. /loc 127.4 0.3 -111.3 Condemned: There's a brown brick building 289 yards NE of the Atlas Plaza marker, the badge is on the overhanging roof above a pair of double-doors on this building. /loc -543.0 15.8 -900.3 Resilient: 102 yards east of the marker for Hyperion Way, there's a tall boxy chunky piece of modern art sitting in a downstairs area. Climb those boxes and the badge sits on the topmost box. /loc -1471.4 56.8 -564.0 Out of Harm's Way: 264 yards North of the Promethous Park marker, in an east-west traffic tunnel/underpass. /loc 1150.1 0.0 -1597.5 City Traveller: Inside the Paragon Transit Station, in the west alcove. /loc 581.5 74.0 -1363.4 For completing all of these, I specifically got the "Walked Down Memory Lane" badge. I also got "The Constant" as well, but I'm unsure if that was coincidental timing as that was when I got 100 badges. I hope this guide helps everyone out there tour Echo: Atlas Park and maybe find some familiar old haunts. If it really helped you, drop an in-game email to @xyzzysqrl and let me know. Happy badging!
  20. Right now I'm on Excelsior. Are channels cross-server?

    Badge Patrol

We are, without a doubt, in the luckiest place we could be regarding City of Heroes. Fresh servers, alignment shifting and Oroborous means any content in the game is an open door, there's enough people around to run task forces, everything is grand. There's just endless missions and content stretching out as far as we can see. I've been running around getting exploration badges, and I can't really answer the question of "Why?" In part it's because I love the little "bwing!" noise of getting one. In part it's because they take me back to places I haven't been able to go (for obvious reasons) and remind me why I was there to begin with. And in part it's just because ... Man. Badges! Who didn't want shiny title-granting badges? I'm afraid sometime between the last time I played and now, my latent badge hunting mutation surfaced. I'm already thinking about those rare "Master Of" badges... Anyone else out there on badge patrol?
  22. Doc Nova, Talman, Tiny Pebble and the others from my old Triumph Supergroup. Miss y'all, wherever you are.
  23. I have always secretly thought the dude over Statesman's shoulder next to "Tat" looks like Final Fantasy X's Wakka.
  24. Well, congratulations. Y'all have inspired me to at least put together a very basic story arc, just to figure out how AE works. Are there any good tutorials you folk would suggest? I'm thinking of starting with just a small 3-mission arc or somesuch to work out the system, and then I'll work from there.
  25. I actually want to hear more about this! Do you have a link or anything?
