Inktober

[Midnight Blue Mage]

Even though I'm not an artist, I really like this tradition, and I was wondering if anyone in this lovely forum happens to be participating this year. If so, please feel free to post your stuff, I'd love to see it!

I'll start it off with some (VERY) rough sketches I managed to cobble together for days 1 through 4

 

(Admittedly, the rebirth of CoH has been 100% the reason I wanted to finally partake this year, and the subject of these endeavors is this cat <3)

 

 

Next up is Day 5 ("Build")! Even though I don't draw much, I enjoy this tradition because it motivates me to pick up the pen(cil) and at least attempt to be creative, and I hope others are similarly inspired :]

I started Inktober too, but not CoH related... And I missed Bait sofar, may catch it up later... maybe... I dunno.
But I'll upload mine here too (will update all through the month in this very post, to keep them all together 😉 ).

Although I decided to go with a cat-theme too 😛 , it's not quite CoH related, so I put my entries in a spoiler folder 🙂 .

I have been doing Inktober, though I missed the prompt for day one so instead of 'ring' it's 'Dark Astoria,' but Mindless, Bait, Freeze, and Build all conform to the prompts -

Not sure how many of these I will do but when I thought

of a ring and City of Heroes this is what came to mind.

 

 

About an hour and a ½ of fast scribbling.

I believe she is going for a more clever interpretation.

 

Some insects and reptiles will moult and slough off their shell or skin in favor of a

newer one grown underneath, the scientific name for the exo-remnants

is xuviae but they are more commonly called husks.

Nice, I like the build one and the Husky pup is cute.

I do have a question about the "mindless" one you did.

Is that a portal opening and tentacles being summoned as in

the Dark powerset or is it a giant Portuguese Man-O-War or jellyfish.

Both are good examples of a mindless thing, just curious which you chose?

Oh, a "husk"! That makes perfect sense, thank you :]

 

Ah, it is in fact a big horizontal jellyfish (though his bell is a little worse-for-wear, the poor thing), but trans-dimensional tentacles would have been cool too!

Yep. Specifically, it's a cicada - they tend to leave very intact, detailed shells when they emerge into their adult stage, and I used to like finding them and collecting them as a kid 🙂

I suppose if I had been thinking of "husk" in CoH terms I would've drawn one of the

Banished Pantheon minions, there is a sub category called husks as well.

Feel free to steal that idea anyone that still wants in on Inktober

but doesn't have anything in mind for that day.

 

Dang that's technically a twofer as it works for Mindless too! lol

I didn't draw on day 9 because I was sick - so I did a single drawing for both 'swing' and 'pattern' the next day! here's that, and a ptarmigan for 'snow' today.
