Spine/Fire Brute Build Questions

So fire resist is 90 with very little effort. Should i focus on Defense or Smashing/Lethal Resistance?  Does it matter for farming which option is easier to obtain.  If I go defense what is an acceptable level?  Builds are welcome I am trying to learn so please explain them a little when you post them.  I am really looking to just get into a farm and stand there letting my auras do most of the work, is that possible.  I am not looking for an Ultra fast build but I would like to clear a small map in under 10 min, a large map in under 45min.  All help welcome.

if you're only doing fire farms then go for fire defense (winter IOs and aegis are big sources). if you softcap that and have a reasonable amount of hp/regen you can afk farm 4/8/bosses no problem. you still want to go high recharge though since burn on auto will be your biggest damage dealer. should be builds out the wazoo if you look around a bit.

I use this no purple build, I can fire faem +4/8 easily. Hasten is almost perma, with spiritual incarnate youll have perma hasten.

Fire farming is a very special case where only fire defense, fire resist and regen matter for keeping you alive.  Fire resist is easy to cap.  Fire defense also needs to be capped, and I noticed a huge change in my survivability when I went from 42.50 fire defense to 45 after a respec.  That made the difference for being able to afk farm if I want to, and to not have to watch my health as much when actively farming. 

 

Smash/lethal resist doesn't matter in a purely fire damage farm.  I took Tough to slot Aegis in and so I could get Weave, but I don't run it in a farm.
