Hjarki Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 I haven't fired up CoH for a few months. When I try to start up, it gives me a dialog box with the message "Couldn't change to fullscreen. The graphics mode is not supported. Setting game to 800x600 windowed mode.". I then hit 'ok' and it appears to start up normally. However, it only displays the top left of the login splash screen. It appears to be working, but I can't enter username/password (because they're not on screen).
City Council Arcanum Posted December 24, 2019 City Council Posted December 24, 2019 Hey Hjarki, I'm sorry for your troubles! I would try closing out of the game and opening the 'Safe-Mode' client! This should help alleviate the graphics issue and allow the game to run properly! If for some reason your game is 'zoomed in' and you can't access the settings/etc you can always adjust your computer's graphics settings to match up with the game! I had to do the same thing when I was playing on my laptop for a bit. ^_^ Let me know if this helps! Please contact me on the Homecoming Discord for a faster response! Arcanum#7164 Got time to spare? You mean the Safe Mode that has already been removed from Island Rum ...? Verbogeny is one of many pleasurettes afforded a creatific thinkerizer.
Ago Posted December 25, 2019 Posted December 25, 2019 (edited) It hasn't left just yet. Island Rum and Tequila use the same manifest. When it leaves Island Rum, it'll leave Tequila at the same time. Ago Posted December 25, 2019 Posted December 25, 2019 Interesting. Is your system on OSX Mojave? Formerly a bunch of things that didn't work out. Inactive account. Not likely to return.

Ago Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 And none of this, my posts included, is answering the OPs issue, which is why I stopped. Formerly a bunch of things that didn't work out. Inactive account. Not likely to return.
Ernesto Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Back on topic: So I'm running the 64bit client on Mac OS X (Mojave 10.14.6) and also don't have a Full Screen option now. But I do have Borderless (Monitor 1), Borderless (Monitor 2, 2560x1449 (Desktop) and Windowed options as well as the set of standard screen sizes. and Borderless works perfectly for me. (It may be because I'm running dual monitors as separate spaces)
Xyzor Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 I just upgraded from Mojave to Catalina and when I start the game, everything is a jumbled mess. Seems like chunks of the graphics aren't lining up with each other. I was able to swap to a lower resolution and it resolved it, but when I turned some settings down, it went back to the mess and now I cannot adjust anything. Posting here because, like the OP, I do not have access to a 'Safe Mode' client. Any suggestions on a fix? I was running the 3360x resolution ever since 64-bit was released and it has been fine. HELP!!
