Can't remember how to chat send tells ???

I feel like a noob for asking this but how do you send a tell to someone in game when they are looking for more team members ??? I cannot remember how to do it at all so I currently reply in broadcast hoping they see my reply and send me the invite. A list of all those commands would be nice. Thanks.

Right click their name in the chat window and the option to send them a PM will be there.

The command is /t <their name>, <message> but as frostbiter says, clicking their name in the chat window is a little speedier.

 

Backspace will reply to the last person who sent you a tell.

also if they're talking on the looking for group channel you can just talk there like

 

/lfg Oh I'm in for the Yin TF! 

 

though tells are sometimes better.

They sure are, if you're the one putting it together you're going to be buried in tells, answering, inviting etc and you'll tend to miss channel comments.  I've frequently had a teammate tell me someone was wanting to join that I hadn't noticed with the tells I'd been getting.
