Ah, I thought you were lumping it in with the other melee attacks.

 

Well, good to know that Power Burst got improved so much. 170 DPA is nuts. Yeah, I'd check IG if I had an Nrg guy high enough to display the power stats, but I didn't feel like starting the character creator just to check the numbers... I like to play with numbers at work in MIds when I have time, but home is for gaming 😉

The Energy Assault revamp was real nice, so nice in fact that I rolled two new ones after.  I wouldn't trust mids on this one since it's probably outdated and doesn't know to factor in the new Energy Release mechanic.   

 

If you're keen on doms I'd recommend giving Energy a whirl, everything from Power Up and after is just nasty.

Well, I'm a bit overloaded with alts, heh, and I do have a lot of Doms. But if the Fire/Psy doesn't feel right after getting Drain Psyche, I'll probably give up on trying to run Fire as a Dom, and then I will consider a Dark/Nrg... it looks like a pairing that works well together.

 

Yeah, I think it's time for me to go through the patch notes for the Dominator revamp and update my copy of Mids since a lot of powers were revamped. I wish there were  a place to submit database updates, because I'd be willing to keep it updated with new power changes just for my personal use and make that public 😞

So, I made one. Enjoying it, so far.

 

Hard to slot. I was plenty of recharge, so perma-dom.

 

But I didn't take Soul powers, because I think the recharge times are too high to be useful.

 

Suggestions?

This was actually the first pairing I made when I started on Homecoming, before the Energy Assault buffs!

 

I took a short break and I am returning now. I'm trying to adapt to the buffs to Energy Assault, and find a way to include the snipe (if it does good damage) but struggling to get enough Defence as I felt that was what was really lacking with my previous build. I did have Primal Forces Mastery for the dual AoEs previously,l but if Total Focus has been buffed then thats probably not needed. To save some slots I went with Soul Mastery instead.

Well you're in luck.  With the new buff Energy Assault got it's so good I made two new ones.  My attack chain doesn't venture far from Total Focus, Whirling Hands, Snipe, Burst and repeat.  Any other attack from Energy you may have is obsolete in comparison and would do more good for you to pick up the Force of Will pool for that defense you're looking for.  If you click Power Up before Unleash Potential you'll get additional defense.  My dom runs +50 situational and all elemental defense.  

 

I have Soul Mastery as well, took the shield, Soul Drain (dropped Armageddon set into it) and consumption.   In all I have less than 10 extra slots invested but still get maximum affect, love Soul!

Thank you! I also realised my Mids is out of date, so I'm missing some tasty powers that have been released. I do quite like Mystic Flight though, so I will have to run the numbers re Force of Will. The other Energy attacks were mainly for when exemplaring down to do content, as otherwise its very few attacks below level 33. Equally, I don't do that much so I may just skip Power Push but keep Power Blast for peace of mind.
