He's not supposed to have a lot of extra "flare" thus Dark Mastery is a bit outside his theme. Admittedly, I know that's not ideal for survivability, just informing you as to why I stuck with Energy Mastery. The build up proc is better in combat readiness, it's guaranteed to go off there and it's on demand. Secondly, if you are going to go energy mastery consider energy torrent, it's good mitigation and it does knockDOWN instead of knockback, and it can take a Force Feedback proc.
