So I leveled my Dominator all the way up, mostly SO's and some LotGs, but now I have no idea what to do with it, are there any build guru's who might have a build for this?  I am guessing S/L is a must since the only way that aura works is if I am sitting on the mobs shoulders.

Problems I am having:

-Super low damage

-Aura gets me insta-ganked in groups

-End.. I cant keep it

I won't even pretend I know how to build it, it just confuses me, so any help would be great.

..and though it is really late now since I got her to 50, did I pick powers badly?

Thanks in advance!

Sure!

Between Trick Shot, Jolting Chain and your two Melee AoEs you should clear mobs pretty fast.

With Exploding Shuriken and Masterful Shot you should be able to chunk bosses pretty hard.

The build is S/L softcap, but I would still cast the confuse before going in solo, in groups you should be fine, especially with all the healing.

Perma hasten as well, but not perma Envenomed Blades or Hoarfrost - Good uptime though.

I have an Ele/Martial Dom that I just leveled up. My idea was to mass shut down and max aoe damage. She is fantastic. She does more damage then my equally IO'd out Sentinel. I dont have my mids updated so I can't post a build but here are some pictures of her powers and enhancements.

I tossed together a build that doesn't hit its desired performance without Incarnates, but has nearly perma-Hasten (likely perma-Hasten with Force Feedback) and soft-cap typed defenses:

  Reveal hidden contents

That being said, I don't think this is a particularly strong combo. Electric Control is very control-heavy, so pairing it with Martial doesn't necessary work all that well.

This is more in regards to Martial Assault itself.

So I am taking away from this that the T1 in Martial is garbage and I should just not use it period?

Also, any tips on how to make Spinning Kick actually hit something?  Because most of the time I think I am in range of something, I activate it and I don't hit anything.

Most dominator T1 attacks have a poor DPA, slow to animate for the amount of damage they inflict.  I frequently skip slotting them in favor of other powers.  They aren't entirely worthless though:

1. Early on and leveling up they provide decent enough damage

2. They can be mules for set bonuses

3. They can be slotted with damage procs.

4. They can actually be used, it is just sub-optimal.

And in the interest of full disclosure, my /martial dom not only has his T1 attack slotted but I also use it as a regular attack.  I think the throwing star/kick-fighting actually helps tell his story and I am a concept > power kind of guy.  I don't slot it on most of my doms though.

What Dauntless said, with a few additions:

some sets have plenty of ranged attacks like Dark Assault, while Earth and Savage are both limited in ranged attacks... if you wish to play more at range you may be forced to use a weaker attack like the T1. They're usually not that far behind in DPA. Also, especially while leveling, it may be more useful to use more attacks even if they're weaker since it builds up Domination faster. Once you get to perma-Dom, that's less of an issue since you don't have to build the bar too often, but when you're on/off with Domination, getting the bar up faster can be worth a slight loss in DPS.

This is how I'd probably roll mine, should try it first on test server though but I guess it'd be close to something like this
