A few things I’d like to say before we get to this:

1) I posted this under archetypes because I wanted more than just masterminds to respond to this. I also wanted others who saw a mastermind on their team to give input. Which powersets make you groan or feel sorry for them? Which powersets make you get all excited and expect great things from them?

2) Don’t think of any specific combinations of powersets, or any specific roles. Which powerset just tends to be the “best” overall? Ones that could really go well with any role at any moment? Ones that don’t flop or make you want to kick them off your team? In the event that you cannot choose just one, I have enabled the option to select multiple powersets for both polls.

http://www.strawpoll.me/20247917 I missed some secondaries in the one above

http://www.strawpoll.me/20252247 Should be fixed now

IT IS POSSIBLE TO SELECT MULTIPLE POWERSETS FOR BOTH POLLS

DO NOT THINK OF ANY SPECIFIC COMBOS OR ROLES; JUST IN GENERAL

I just want to point out how hilarious it is that I decided to put mercs up there as a candidate for best, as well as arrow. I’m so stupid....

Devs have stated Trick Arrow is getting buffs in the next major patch

People really sleep on Beasts.

Which is weird since the numbers show they have the highest single target DPS, plus being melee exclusive has its own perks as well. The passive buff is supposedly great, too! Them being melee means they should be relatively easy to clump together for the sake of AoE heals/buffs.

I would describe Beasts as the dev response to the other melee pet sets being mediocre to bad. They gave some thought to why the other ones are bad and attempted to fix those problems with Beasts. (For example, the Henchbeast and Lieutenant beasts don't have any ranged attacks, so they won't stop and shoot before going to melee, which is an aggravating problem with Ninjas.)

This is a solid explanation... I guess the badness of other melee based pets may have rubbed off onto the opinion of beasts.
