|-------------------------------------------------------------------| Prospective build for my L50 Fire/Elec Dom. Everything is essentially perma-perma. But I don't play Doms a lot. So I have absolutely NO clue if there's a better way to build this setup. For all of you who love Doms, and Doms are your bag, help a brother out! If you want to be godlike, pick anything. If you want to be GOD, pick a TANK!
Mezmera Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 (edited) I've not played a fire control dom but everything else I can give a go at to help, I'll toss in the bare bones of what I'd take for fire control at least though. For fire control I'd take: Char, Fire Cages (I'd 3 slot with the Firey Orb ATO set, save on some slots), Cinders, Bonfire (needs the knockback to knockdown enhancement) and the imps (3 slotted with pet purple set). Maybe another aoe control I'd likely look to take. Electric Assault I'd take: Bolts, Havoc Punch, Build Up, Zapp, Static Discharge, Thunderstrike. Maybe the sentinel but only a slight maybe or Lightning Bolt. The pools I'd go with 3 out of 4 what you have although I'd drop Super Speed, Burnout and take Tactics for certain and also maybe Vengeance for the LotG mule. I'd drop the Leaping pool and take either Sorcery or Force of Will, whichever fits your fancy. They both have a fine travel along with a semi t9 defense or resist power which with the high recharge you'll have will be up likely most of the time you'll need these nice shields. So that's 3 powers in either of those two pools. For Scorpion I'd go with the 2 shields you have plus maybe add the Boss pet or the bane mace, it's a pretty nice debuff paired with an achilles heel -res proc. So that's 22 powers I gave you to take for certain leaving you 2 powers to take from the "maybe's" or for your fun. As for perma dom I'd aim for 90% additional recharge to pair with Hasten leaving you wiggle room to build in those defenses from bonuses too. Edited August 18, 2020 by Mezmera 1
kiramon Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Most of my dom builds now end up just short of perma hasten which is still enough to keep perma dom - mostly cuz I dropped agility
Hyperstrike Posted August 19, 2020 Author Posted August 19, 2020 The way the build looks in the DPS calculator, once I drop my controls on things, my optimal DPS is Thunderstrike, Zapp, Thunderstrike, Havoc Punch, Thunderstrike. 135 DPS. If you want to be godlike, pick anything. If you want to be GOD, pick a TANK!
Hopestar Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 (edited) @Hyperstrike Ok I don't know if this is brutal enough, but some things I think are wrong or misused with your build: I think you're missing the single highest ST damager in your build in Char with all the procs. Granted this won't work with Agility or any other +Recharge Alpha, but I think it's worth it and you already have so much recharge that Agility is unnecessary. Slotting one of your other highest ST damagers, Havoc Punch, for sleep while slotting Boxing for damage is criminal. I'm also not sure what your plan is with Burnout, considering the best use case would be Thunderstrike, Bonfire, Cinders, Burnout, Thunderstrike, Bonfire, and Cinders up for the next group and cost you 95% of your endurance and 14 seconds to do it. The whole group is hurting for sure, but you're now useless without chugging some blue insps. Hot Feet is an endurance trap in my opinion. It doesn't do enough to justify the drain and "must be on the ground" requirement. Yes it does 30 DPS and slows movement, but what use is a movement slow when you already have them in Fire Cages, Disoriented, Knocked Down, or Held? Another miss in not utilizing Knockdown Imps. You could definitely eek out a lot more damage in your build for sure in slotting Havoc for damage, Thunderstrike with procs, Zapp with the proc instead of the pointless Interrupt/Range IO, and changing Agility Core to Musculature Radial. Here's a build I whipped up with similar objectives but more resistance (and more for your imps) and damage and permahasten as long as you use Thunderstrike (which of course you will). Dominator - Fire Control - Electricity Assault.mxd Edited August 20, 2020 by Hopestar Might as well mention Hyperstrike >:)
