Haijinx Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Dragonball isn't actually a comic book setting in the traditional sense. So this is a cross genre as well as a cross universe contest. Making it double meaningless who would win. Both are in the boring invincible hero camp though.

Just in DC Comics mainstream, Superman's powers have varied widely based on what the writer needed for a given story. For that matter, it's not unique to Superman (he's just a convenient example) and it's not even unique to DC. Character power levels vary so widely that (to paraphrase an old NFL saying) in any given issue, any character can beat any other character. There was an effort for a time in Marvel Comics to standardize these things in that universe. Back when comics cost 60 cents each and there were 30+ concurrent titles. But that fell apart too. Your point is indisputable in my opinion. The revolving door of writers make any consistancy impossible. 1

Zapped Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 (edited) Superman, hands down. Goku is not nor has he ever been particularly bright, while Superman has super intelligence and way more experience. Its like asking if a 30 year old or a 50 year old would win in a bar fight. Smart money is going to be on the older guy every single time. Edited June 22, 2021 by Zapped
ExoGrimz Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 I am honestly kind of surprised that this debate is still going on consider (as stated by Death Battle during both their episodes on this fight): Goku is a man who can break any limit. Superman has no limits in the first place. This means that no matter what Goku does, he will never be able to beat Superman in a one on one fight... simply on the merit that Superman's power is limitless while Goku's can only grow so much in any given fight. Plus, Goku is an honorable fighter, so Kryptonite is out of the question. Meaning, while Goku can do incredible things and can push the boundaries of what can be considered possible on several occasions, in the end only one of them has limits to give in the first place. No amount of training, no number of new transformations will ever change that.
