Special IOs and Exemping

Finally slotted up my spines/bio scrapper. I was looking at the combat atts, and noticed some weird things when ex'd down to 15ish.

I have the glad armour (lvl 50) and steadfast (lvl 27) +def IOs in hardened carapace, but when I go down to a lower level (15) the GladArmour KEEPS working, but the steadfast does not.

SAme kinda behaviour with Combat jumping (slotted with both +res IOs). The level 50 shouled wall works at low levels, while Reactive Def (lvl 22) does not.

 

Is that normal behaviour?

I was thinknig about using catalysts on those other uniques to make em always active.

And the Steadfast is a 'Global' proc.  It works like a set bonus and will work until you are more than 3 levels below its level.  If your Steadfast is a level 27 it will function if you are level 24 or higher.  I suspect but cannot confirm the Reactive Defense is functioning similarly.  If so it should work until you are below level 19 (and Mids should be listing it as a set bonus).  This also means it'll work even if the power it's in is greyed out ... the game is looking at the IO's level to decide if it works.

 

Edit: That's one reason many of my builds slotted level 10 Steadfast and lvl 25 LotG def/+recharge.  That was before attuning enhancements was possible and I believe attuning them would cause them to work down to 3 below the sets respective lower limits regardless of the IOs actual level.  But Attunement is still a new thing to this returning player.  Hopefully someone will correct or add if I'm wrong.

Attuned IOs are our friends, Razor Cure. Even the PvP set uniques can come in handy for immediate slotting if you’re not using the rest of the set.
