Mission level when leader not on map

Interesting discussion in game from the innocent Help question "Does it screw up the mission when I enter first?"

 

I said "No."

 

There were people who had some strange responses.  There were some well stated responses as well, including about TFs being a special circumstance.

 

Does entering a mission before the leader, or while the leader is in another zone, affect the mission settings?

Entering a mission while the team leader is in another zone does screw up the mission difficulty.  It defaults to +0 instead of whatever difficulty the team leader has set.

This is most noticeably a problem with KR which often has 2 versions so part of the team will be on KR2.

i literally have never noticed.  but i like teams that run TF at +0 for badges/merits and most high rolling teams i join stay on the same zone.
