Ice/Atomic builds

For thos of you who play this combo, do you  build for positional s/l defences? I'm working mine up the levels now but I'm not sure how to start planning a build. I do spend a decent amount of time in melee due to /atomic. And the three holds are really nice, at least in the early game.

Because Ice is great and Atomic is great?

S/L and Ranged. a lot of mezzes/debuffs are ranged and those can shut you down even before the fight starts. S/L takes care of whatever is in your face but Ranged is equally if not more important because it handles those elements you can't directly interact with.

Destroy option? Can you solo GMs/avs with this power set pairing?

Not yet.. (L31), I have alt-i-tis, so it's not my focus-du-jour.  

 

I was using "destroy" in that blaster-y sense of spreading my damage liberally and rapidly.

I love the combo. I have one based on Blue Marvel currently. It's blastery and controllery at the same time.
