Endgame build advice for Energy/Inv Scrapper

Hello allI.

So, I have an Energy/Inv Scrapper at lvl 50, that I am now starting to IO out.

I have some questions and doubts about some IOs and ATOs.

 

1- I've used Superior Critical Strikes on Total Focus and Superior Scrapper's Strike on Energy Transfer. Is that the way to go? I confess I don't understand really well the way ATOs work.

 

2- My resists are a bit low for Energy/Neg, which I believe is an important part of the endgame. On the other hand, my Fire/Cold are very high but I can't seem to find a good, cost-effective way to raise the energy/neg resists.

 

3- My defense is S/L + Fire capped but, again, the Energy/Neg defense isn't particularly high. Should I try to increase it more? And how?

 

4- I didn't go Hasten / Perma-Dull Pain because it felt I had to use too many recharge and sacrifice the Res/Def. 

Am I approaching it correctly or am I missing something?

 

5- I kept Barrage and Power Crash due to being somewhat mules for some important IOs but also because Barrage can be useful sometimes, and Power Crash when solo is also situationally useful. But I can totally see myself dropping power crash.

 

6- Unstoppable is a mule for IOs

Any ideas, suggestions?

(1) There is  disagreements over the best placement of the Crit Proc and it matters depending on how much you optimize your attack sequence to squeeze out maximum damage. I am fairly relaxed about such things, and so would probably stick it in Whirling Hands to increase the likelihood of it proc'ing but other might tell you differently. Probably should listen to one of them (if they give you a detailed explanation for why to do otherwise).

 

 (2,3,4,6) If Unstoppable is only a mule, at the loss of some Psionic resistance for not taking the power, you could instead take Shadow Meld, seeing as you have access to it. Pop and for 15 seconds your defenses go through the roof. At your current global recharge  it is up every 42 seconds for 15 seconds. Were you to achieve perma-Hasten that would become something like up every 24 seconds for 15 seconds. 

 

() The order of your powers might be somewhat problematic if you ever decide to play lower level TFs/exemplar. I would swap Super Jump and Build Up and swap Dull Pain and Manuevers.

Here is my build.  I would 100% recommend the Critical Strikes in Total Focus.  It has a super high chance to proc there and then Energy Transfer and Bone Smasher get the bonus afterward.  As long as S/L defense and resist are up there I find the rest is fine and when it isn't Dull Pain is enough.

I have an EM/Invuln stalker so maybe I can give a few pointers that may cross over.  With ET I slot 5 of the Heca's with the proc plus also the pvp proc.  For my pbaoe powers I like the winter set, oblit's and or maybe your scrapper ATO's.  Then on my resists I like to slot them all to 4 with Unbreakable Guards for that melee defense bonus.  I do take Unstoppable too and slot it with the Steadfast unique plus the Gladiator Armor unique I'd work in on one of the resists too.  

 

As for pools I take Hasten, it's too good to pass up and allows you to get out those nasty ET's more frequently.  I also have Fighting, Leadership and I like Force of Will for the defense shield when I really need it which'll softcap all of my elementals except psi and positional except ranged which will still be pretty good.  I look at Unleash Potential as a longer lasting less intrusive version of Shadow Meld.

This is the build I am looking at for end game. My character is only 38 at the moment though. Using the beta dps calculator in the planner, it show that if I go ET>BS>EP>TF>ET I would have 580 dps. I am sure it is counting on having Energy focus for the first ET, I wish it would let me select the order.
