DougGraves Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 I want X sized map. But I don't want to have Y spawns of enemies on it. I would like some spawns to just spawn nothing. I think I can do this by having boss objectives there that are supposed to be triggered but then never trigger. Are there objectives I can create that will never be met so the bosses will never trigger?
Ankylosaur Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 (edited) Several options but all work arounds. Empty Set the map to empty Only spawn the number of mobs you want in each area (e.g. if middle takes 16 mobs, put in 8 bosses with mobs. make the boss you choose an LT if you can) Spawn something innocuous. e.g... Fill a mob with will o' the wisps, or citizens, or ghost victims or spectral pirates or something Place them as an ally boss or patrol in the spots you want to be empty. they are just flavor - especially if they are well below your mission level (like spectral pirates) Unimportant defendable object Fill your "empty" slots with it set the mob to empty or ally or both and test basically populating the "empty" spots with a flavor object As to never trigger options - i would think something like an ally that is non combatant might work. Set the trigger to be them when they die, which they can't do - but all i can think of on the spot. 🙂 Edited June 2, 2021 by Ankylosaur AE Arcs: Search for @Ankylosaur * denotes Dev's Choice Adventures in Lit: Adventures in Wonderland - 25-54* | Adventures in Oz - 40-54 | Adventures in Neverland - 45-54 Notable One-offs: Rularularian - 41-54* | The Serpent Beyond the Horizon - 46-52* | Robolution - 25-34* | The Genesis & Geneticists of The Coming Hamiggedon - 41-54* | Spycraft and Spidermen - 40-47 | Return to Faultline - 40-54 Post-Praetoria Series: All That Glitters: Gold Brickers & Mooks - 9 Arcs | All That Glimmers: First Warders & Mu - 9 Arcs | All That Glints: The Awakened & Council - 3 Arcs | All That Glows: Nictus & 5th Column - 3 Arcs* | All That Gleams: Epilogue (Neo Tokyo) - 1 Arc
DougGraves Posted June 4, 2021 Author Posted June 4, 2021 I really like the defendable object idea. Adds flavor and removes mobs.

Which is fine, provided you can still target the object. I've had some situations where I had to attack the guards before I could target the object, meaning the object is untargetable by itself, outside having a Targeted AoE, or AoE field. I have done a TON of AE work, both long form and single arc. Just search the AE mish list for my sig @cranebump.
